This is where I will introduce you to "Noel" our representative at Mike & Sterling's. He was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process. He was very educational, answered all of our questions, secured the best pricing on the product we chose, worked tirelessly with the "goofy" contractor we selected and was always maintained great communication with us throughout the remodel. Well, my front door was unlocked because other authorized workers were carrying supplies in. The representative from Mike & Sterlings , without permission, let himself in my house. No one--not even another worker--gave him permission. No one should enter someone's house without permission. He opened the door and asked another person what the address is. So that's what they do open a door and ask what the address is. The other workers did not stop him because it's not their job, but told me someone was in my house. I yelled where are you, found him downstairs, having opened several doors and gone into my private storage with all my valuable. The guy was at my house to give me a bid to refinish my wood floors, and my wood floors are on the main floor where he entered, and where he took no measurements. I have had probably 100 workers meet me at my house over the years none crossed the line by illogically entering. I called the police and reported him, they came to my house interviewed the other workers and called the culprit. Here I am posting a picture of the guy who entered my home and his car. If you for some reason decide to work with these guys stay away from him. He did not appear to have stolen anything, but you dont find out this stuff till much later when you go through your belongings. I could never do business with a company like this and hope you don't. I currently do not know if anything is missing.

He asked for all monies to be paid even though the job was not done, and we did. Big mistake on our part. We hired him to fix sprinklers and landscaping damaged, caused when we had a walk-out basement installed. He has only came out 1 or 2 times at the time and day he said he would. He complained to us that the people putting in the walkout didn't leave the sprinkler pipes exposed, so it caused him time to find them, even though this was known at the outset that this was the case, that he was going to have to find them, which was part of the scope of the work needed. Then he complained about his curbing guy stood him up and he had already paid them, and we waited weeks for him to try to figure out what to do, so we finally took the ball and ran with it and got our own guy to do the curbing, so the project could move forward. So now he was dragging his feet over getting sod to replace grass missing, even though it clearly states in the estimate using sod or seed. When we spoke verbally in person, he mentioned about plugs, but he even said that plugs wouldn't work as well, and we agreed that we wanted sod, and he agreed he would get sod. And the kind of grass we have doesn't grow from seed. So now he has lied to us that he had picked up sod and was coming out to install. We waited all day long for him to show up, and then he said he was still coming. Never showed up, no communication as to why, nothing. This is not an isolated incident either. Multiple times no communication and no show. He has said a few times that he had major emergency incidents causing the no shows and inability to do it when he said he would, but still no communication to us about any of that, and multiple times we have waited for him, not knowing what is going on. Now we are taking the ball back again and getting someone else to come and do the sod, because this has gone on and on, with no end in sight, and no communication. Not professional at all, even though he claims to be. So again, if you can deal with this, go ahead and use him. This is an honest review, I don't normally do reviews, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but figured that this has to be done, to warn others.

I reached out to him with a stair project this summer since I've used him before. I sent him several pictures and he quoted me $1,250. The day he arrived to do the job, he increased the price to $2,400. When I turned him down, he reduced it to $1,900. Since I was anxious to get the job done, I agreed to the price. He came back the following day, Demanding half up front (I paid him $1,000). He worked for about an hour, left his tools and went to "get supplies" promising he'd be back that afternoon. He never returned. He then committed to come on July 3rd, and never showed up. When I expressed my frustration and asked for a refund of my deposit, he said "If I can't get it done Monday, July 5th, I'll refund your money." He showed up on Monday July 5th at 7:30AM, I thought to do the work, but all he did was pack up his tools and was gone by 7:45AM. When I questioned him, he said "I'm running to get supplies." He had already been to the site 3 times, including the day he increased the price. When I asked for my promised refund, when he didn't complete the job by July 5th (he actually didn't even start the job) he told me "deposits are non-refundable." I reminded him of his commitment to refund my money and he he old me I was "being difficult." After calling him again and again, he promised to come on Saturday, July 10th. I text him the day before (Friday) to confirm he would be coming to complete the job and he replied "I will be there in the morning." At this point, I shouldn't have been surprised that he never showed up. This was the FIFTH time I had taken time off work to be home, and Mike never showed. He has since ignored all texts and phone calls. Once I asked him to stand True to his word and refund my deposit, he quit replying. There are other reviews, including reviews on Google from users sharing similar experiences. Ir appears Mike is nor registered to do business in the State of Utah. The only address listed for MVP Flooring Installations is not a valid address, meaning no such house exists. By searching his telephone number, (832) 310-3757 , I came across this Yelp business page and felt it necessary to leave this review. It appears this business once had a Facebook page (I found results in a google search), but that page has since been deleted. I have filed a complaint with the Utah Department of Commerce. I feel it necessary to warn other consumers against using this company. I thought paying half up front was reasonable, I had no idea he would show up to collect the money, and leave moments later.
