First time using this group and we were not disappointed. We needed to move on a specific date, gave a deposit and with one week to move the lawyers pushed the date out. Not Soliman's fault so we lost that date and they couldn't move the date to our new date. BUT, Rebecca saved the day by giving us some excellent guidance and got us on her schedule. We were panicking so thank you Rebecca. So, the 4 guys showed up exactly on time and proceeded to start the process. Gotta say, all 4 of these guys treated us and our belongings with respect and professionalism and we all had a few laughs along the way. No damage whatsoever and they handled a few of our most difficult pieces with extra care. They charge by the hour so we were well aware of expected costs so NO surprises and we've done this 7 times where we had plenty of surprises. They did a walk-through, double-checked everything, unwrapped, took their packaging and moved a couple of things for us not associated with the actual move. Very accommodating. They only took a 15 minute lunch break even though I told them to take an hour. This was our best move and we couldn't have asked for a better company to make it all happen. We highly recommend them. They are the only movers I will use! They came highly recommended by a family member, and I can see why, because they were prompt, extremely professional, efficient and courteous. They were just as good at setup as they were at loading and transport and I was completely comfortable having them in my home. Called to get a quote on a really large moving job. No answer so their machine picked up and to;d me they would be closed for a week in April, this is September. This is going to be a bit long, so bear with me here. These guys are massively overpriced and damaged a bunch of my furniture (mainly my brand new $800 bed) and then "accidentally" overcharged me an extra hundred dollars (which they did refund when I noticed), after I had to hear from their 2 movers who wrecked my stuff that I didn't tip them enough. So, here's how this whole thing went down: I was moving out of state, so I ordered 2 U-Pack containers myself and picked up an enclosed 5x8 uhaul trailer. I provided 16 moving blankets and rope. My apartment in Syracuse was on the 6th floor, but we had an elevator. I called around for movers on relatively short notice, and Soliman's was the only one with any availability. I ended up agreeing to a 3 hour minimum, I'm pretty sure this came out to $420, I can't remember or find the receipt at the moment. The day of the move, the movers were over an hour late to my apartment, and proceeded to load all of my things into the containers and my uhaul trailer completely unwrapped, even though I provided blankets. When I noticed this, I helped them unpack some of the furniture (namely 2 nightstands that were stacked with nothing in between them and one of my leather chairs that was pressed right up against the side of the trailer with nothing to protect it) and had them wrap them in the blankets that I provided. I must have missed that my headboard and side boards for my brand new queen bed were also packed in one of the upacks with nothing protecting them. The side board and headboard both have rubs on them that there is no way I will ever be able to make look right. the top of my kitchen table was also packed with nothing covering it and has scratches that cannot be fixed. one of my dressers was initially stood on end in one of the containers on the bare floor and has rubs that cannot be removed. because of their error and them having to repack my things, I went over the allotted 3 hours by a few minutes, and was charged for a full additional hour. to move my one bedroom apartment worth of stuff down an elevator and into containers, I was charged a total of $586, which was "erroneously" charged to my credit card as a $150 deposit and an additional $536.50, for a grand total of $686.50 To put in perspective how unbelievably overpriced this is, I moved to Charlotte, which has a significantly higher cost of living than syracuse and moved into a 20th floor apartment, and the movers that unpacked me had 3 people, got it done in 2 hours and only charged me $250. I would not be as upset as I am about the cost of the services from this company if it came with the premium service I was expecting when I was quoted, but you would be better off picking up a couple of felons at the bus station in front of the jail to move your stuff than deal with these guys. Rebecca, when you read this, which I know you will, you should have offered at the very least to refund me the additional hour I was charged because it was your guy's fault they ran over and you know it. also, it's absolutely bonkers that you charge a full additional hour for less than 20 minutes in the first place. read more

This company moved us twice and at a very reasonable price. The first move was from a storage unit to a house, which involved having us burrow through to find specific box numbers we wanted. The team was super flexible and very fast. The second move was from house to house -- I didnt even shop around, I just called Soliman because I knew they would do a good job. It was easy to get an estimate and get scheduled. The day of the move they were very professional, walked through at beginning and end on both houses, and were fast. I was a little "put off" by Rebecca when we talked on the phone. I asked her to move my piano up a flight of stairs and she said she couldn't do it without an elevator. "I don't want to kill my guys," she said. I went on Yelp to see if anybody had said anything nasty about her company. After reading through everybody's ridiculous complaints, I realized that I was the one who was being unreasonable, not Rebecca. Rebecca was simply not willing to put her moving guys in danger. It's about time a company put the safety of their employee first! That shows compassion and integrity. I feel bad for ever becoming annoyed with her. After seeing how she defended her company on Yelp, I have nothing but respect for her. I'm in awe of how she doesn't take anybody's garbage. I wish I could do that. I hate people who are always trying to complain their way out of paying a bill. I used Soliman last year when I moved to another place in Cazenovia. Her guys were really nice and worked for almost 7 hours. It was expensive, but comparable to other moving companies. My only complaint was that I didn't like Rebecca's bedside manner when she told me that she wouldn't be able to move my 8,000-pound Steinway up an entire flight of stairs. But I now I realize that she's just a straightforward kind of person and that my request was completely unreasonable. read more

Movers showed up on time were courteous and efficient. Took about six hours for the final piece of furniture to be brought in. I did notice a week afterwards that my portable dehumidifier was missing. I called Rebecca and she said that they don't have it and I must've left it behind. I confirmed it is not at my old residence. So in addition to the move cost of $1000, I am now needing to go buy a portable dehumidifier costing approximately $200. read more

Great. After an aborted move with another mover, I contacted Soliman to move kitchen appliances - 27 cu ft fridge, range, dishwasher about 20 miles. Rebecca was pleasant and easy to work with on the phone. Mohamed and the two others on the crew were great. Removed and replaced the water/ice through the door doors on the large fridge, wrapped everything, and moved the machines carefully. I had been stressed because of the previous move, but these guys were just great. read more

Was an over charging experience just to have a bunch of kids mark up the walls and front door granted i was moved yet boxes were stacked odd and when i went to open boxes things were crushed and broken rebecca didnt want to work with me on some of my items overall i couldve moved myself with less damage and WAY LESS charge got a quote from other companies after the fact and was charged more than 2000 extra please reconsider when looking at soliman read more

Small local move that only had one or two challenging pieces but they treated it like a large important move and really did a great job! They were referenced to me via my boss who appreciated them so much during his LARGE local move, that he had them move his mother from Albany to Syracuse as well! Lastly, Rebecca (owner) patiently took my call and scheduled even as she was supposed to have left for vacation. The movers were on time and professional but did not tie down our furniture or heavy boxes. When the truck arrived to our new home things had fallen and crushed the boxes and items on the bottom. Also most of my dining chairs were scratched and my desk was crushed. I had to throw it out. We also had a bike that was bent and needs repair. I am not sure why things were not tied down. The movers said everything was packed in tightly and did not need to be tied down. The response we received for the damages was unprofessional and criticized our furniture quality as well as our character. We were accused as being scammers. No effort was made to come to a mutual agreement. Beware if you have any damages from your move because they will not believe your photos and claim all damages were there before. Also beware that there are multiple accounts on yelp and Facebook for them with negative comments as well. I do not recommend this company for your moving needs. --- As you can see by the owners response to my review they are not interested in helping with damages to furniture, are willing to insult the quality of your items and will lie that you told them not to tie things down. Why would I not tie down my stuff? The movers specifically told us things did not need to be tied down. I've given up on getting any refund from the company as well. I simply don't want others to experience the same poor service and treatment of their things. read more

My experience was very good from beginning to end. The owner Rebecca was very helpful and personable over the phone. When the movers arrived they were 15 minutes early, and had far more than enough boxes to finish the packing that I could not do. They were able to pack and move everything in 1 day, one trip with their very long 28 foot truck. I have several pieces of antique furniture that I was concerned about, they padded and shrink wrapped everything before moving it, not 1 scratch. I also have a lot of lenox figurines, they bubble wrapped all of them before boxing them, all figurines made if from Cortland to manlius in perfect condition. I expected that my piano would need tuning after being moved, to my surprise I was wrong. I would recommend Soliman Moves and more to anyone. They were a pleasure to work with, and the price was very reasonable for the amount of work they did. read more

They were on time, and were extra careful with our belongings, making sure not to damage anything, all the while being quick at the same time. They were extremely helpful and had great attitudes, especially having to work in the freezing cold- making the entire experience enjoyable. Used Soliman moving company recently. We paid for 4 moving people told all furniture was carefully wrapped in moving blankets ect. to be sure no damage would be done. After movers left we noticed our treadmill was damaged, year old dresser a gouge of wood was missing from it, my master bedroom bed had a whole gouge of wood missing from it, a coffee table had a huge scratch across it and another end table wood damaged. The movers not only damaged furniture but also scuffed up and damaged walls that we had to fix before our house closing. when we contacted the company with an email & pictures they immediately came out to access the damage but upon looking at the items her remarks where you signed a contract that said anything that is made of pressed wood and not all wood is not covered. Obviously the movers know this & are not careful knowing its not covered. she went on to tell me my Ashley furniture, Raymour & Flanigan, Dunkin Bright furniture is all cheap and what did I expect. what I expected was for movers that I paid a lot of money for to be respectful and careful of everything they moved reguardless of how cheap or expensive they thought an item was. If they covered my damaged furniture correctly and did not slam them around gouges of wood would not be taken out of them. In the long run they thought covering damaged wood with the same color wood crayon would make me feel better and they did replace the damaged part to my treadmill. I defiantly feel like I paid enough money for my less than year old furniture and they did nothing to make the situation better and it makes me sick that I have to now look at damaged furniture everyday. I guess next time I will read reviews better seeing I'm defiantly not the only one with complaints of damage. read more

My husband and I moved into a new home two weeks ago and had a moving company all set up and ready to go but at the last minute they stood us up. I frantically called around and it wasn't until I talked to the incredibly friendly front desk gal at Soliman that I found anybody could be even willing to try to help us out in a pinch. She was absolutely great. I think her name was Rebecca*. She called her crews and was able to find a crew that got done with a job early and Send them down to Cortland, 45 minutes away from their homebase. These guys worked their butts off, and were able to get us all moved in by 9 PM! A huge feat! All of the guys were respectful and courteous, even though they were working towards the end of the night on a 12 hour shift. They treated our items with so much respect. They use the large rolls of saran to keep things together,And handled fragile items with care. Excellent customer service in a pinch. I can't thank these guys enough! read more

Well, it's getting a 2 star rating because the movers were nice. However, trying to get ahold of anyone to place concerns is impossible. Phone calls were made and emails were sent and no response. When the movers were done, he quoted me one price then recalculated and it was double. He then tells me they didn't have their regular truck and the truck they were using didn't have its ramp so because of that, it added over an hour of wasted time. That's not my problem. 2 of Our dining room table legs were broke and unfortunately, the table isn't made anymore so it's been very difficult to find replacement legs. And then our console doors were broke. They have insurance I'm sure, but nobody will respond. If you're looking, go somewhere else. 7 hours was $1100. Eeeeek! read more

Please do yourself a favor and listen to the other bad reviews. Rebecca refused to provide a written quote or do an on-site evaluation. She initially sent me a confirmation for the wrong date. We straightened that out and got to the move date after a verbal estimate to pack and unload a 26' truck in under 6 hours. When we called during the move to ask about being charged for cigarette breaks or lunch, "nobody has ever complained about their cigarette breaks before, they all take turns smoking". She then agreed she'd take care of it in the bill. When the bill shows up, she billed their leave time from her business to the leave time from the move site AND tacked on travel time. She duplicated charges in multiple areas and didn't deduct any breaks other than lunch. We took photos with the time of their arrival, their departure for lunch, and their return from lunch yet she doubled down on her line saying her GPS showed earlier times, etc. She ended charging me for all of her employee 15 minutes breaks morning and afternoon, double dipping on the travel and labor rate, and then accused me of "trying to get out of paying my bill" and that she "couldn't explain the charges any more clearly" as if I was of low intelligence when I questioned why so much overcharging. Bottom line, Rebecca Soliman runs a shady business and squeaks by using a Manlius address. My tip - use one of the higher rated Syracuse companies. They have lower hourly rates and won't treat you like a schmuck. read more

They were able to move my items two days after I contacted them. The two men were on time , courteous and hard working. They moved a heavy gun safe down very narrow stairs without a single ding or scratch to the walls. They wrapped and protected every piece of furniture. read more

We have had good luck with these movers. When our strong and able friends bailed on us on moving weekend last May, we called around looking for help. Soliman Movers was the only company to make time and send out two men to help us. We hired them for three hours at a reasonable rate and expected them to just help us load up the heavy furniture as is. But they went further and covered up the furniture in protective blankets and carried them down the awful stairs of our apartment for us. With the extra time they helped load the boxes and unload everything at the house. The movers were kind, professional, and I would certainly give them a call back the next time we need some extra hands. read more

I would recommend choosing a different moving company unless you're okay with your belongings getting damaged and them refusing to compensate for the damage. Their pricing makes you think they would be excellent, charging $250/hr, and though the movers were nice enough people, their company was very difficult to work with. First, you sign a waiver and we were told they cover up to $2500 of damage, but don't worry, they won't damage anything--but if something happens (spoiler alert, it did) the story changes. They take photos of everything before the move, so they know if any damages are caused by the movers or were preexisting. During the move, they put multiple holes in our sectional as well as breaking off part of one of the feet. When we called about this, they tried saying it was preexisting damage from a completely different couch. Once they finally got back to us after following up multiple times, they said they would give $60 for the damages and said the waiver we signed said our whole home was only valued at $2500 so the sectional was only worth $60. The holes they put in the sectional were not in removable cushions, therefore the entire couch needs to be replaced. If you don't care about your belonging, by all means, choose Soliman. read more

i will give them one star because the number two of the two- man team was nice and had a good attitude. However, the lead guy was disillusioned with the boss and let me know. They took 8 hours to move what should of been a 3 hour move. It would have been hysterical watching them if i had not been paying for the extra time. They had to move a bunk-bed(which was disassembled when they arrived), a writing desk(small). a couch and two stools and a couple of boxes. the lead guy was on the phone quite a bit, not sure who he was talking to. i don't think they own a truck but rent one when they have a job because i just read the other review and they told me the same story, that their truck broke down and they had to rent one . that is the reason they gave me for having NO extra boxes, No tape and basically coming with a few moving blankets to throw over furniture. i could of had my gardener do a better job. Stay away from these movers. they are at best amateurs. They robbed me since i had to pay $750.00 for a simple move. The original estimate did not factor in that they were incompetent and would take three times as long to move me. Guess that is how they make their money. i suspect the owner tells them to take their time. read more

I found these guys on craigslist, and I was really happy with the work they did. My moving POD came a day late, but they were able to make it work, and came late to my apartment to get the job done. They were friendly and fast, unloaded the POD and put together all my furniture in less than 2 hours. Be aware that they do charge a bit extra if you use a credit card. read more

I hired Soliman Movers to move us from Fayetteville to Liverpool, a distance of approximately 23 miles. On the phone I asked if someone was going to come to estimate the cost and was told it wasn't necessary. The quote was given of about $540.00, for 3-4 hours and that it could vary a little. I said that we would pack the very small things, but expected the rest to be done for us (since we're both in our eighties. They arrived in a 17' U-Haul, with no equipment. We had two bedrooms, two baths, a living room an a kitchenette. It took them ten hours and I was charged $1080.00. I charged it, not having that kind of cash, but was given no paper work. A receipt came through, naming PayPal, but I charged to another credit card. When I tried to call, she hung up on me. I'd never recommend them to anyone. read more
