He's nice, but he's very quiet, not a good communicator, and while…read moreI don't have questions about his ultrasound and injection skills, I do have issues about his ethical choices and lack of clear communication leading to confusion. There is also evidence of highly-questionable documentation. He misrepresented the nature of a customer service complaint call requested by me to discuss issues with being given misleading info regarding the IV ketamine infusion procedure and what is actually done (they apparently don't do infusions, but they charge for "infusions". They actually just jab you with an IM/SUB Q dose and then leave and do not come back to monitor or assess safety for discharge). I honestly mulled trying infusions for a few months before desperation made me cave. His CYA documentation says he came back and assessed me prior to being "discharged". I was "discharged" by an assistant who asked me to leave because she needed the room about 30 min after the jab. I emailed him and requested a discussion about my concerns, which he granted. He called me while he was on vacation out of state from a private cell number at no particular predetermined time. He agreed to my request for a partial refund. Did not explain the discrepancy between what they tell you to expect, and what they actually do so my assumption is they cut corners intentionally to save time and effort since they double-book that slot. But, I thought he responded non-defensively and I used him again for a procedure later. They then went ahead and submitted a claim as a "telehealth visit" for that informal complaint call 2 months later. Also created a retroactive "telehealth visit" note stating he used HIPAA compliant audio & visual equipment and that he was in his "office" at time of visit. The summary says we talked about strategies and plans to manage my shoulder. What?! Also says that I was informed that they were going to bill for that visit and that I agreed to it. I'm honestly shocked. I have spoken to my insurance, also spoke to MPM newly-hired billing-specialist. They said they would withdraw the claim and "correct" the documentation. It has not been withdrawn or corrected, and has actually been resubmitted after telling me they would withdraw, and it's been processed and potentially partially paid (although ins says not yet sent). So they lied in an effort to recoup my partial refund, probably. Back in the Spring, I spoke to their newly hired billing/reimbursement specialist who was hired to help clean up the mess with their claims. In a follow up call, when nothing was moving, he stated that the MDs have had poor oversight over their billing, and that after reviewing their tax documents, stated that they were grossly underearning. So it make sense they will look for ways to invent ways to scrape in any extra cash. Insurance is not aware of a request to withdraw. I did submit to my insurace my dispute to this claim, the emails leading up to call and post-call emails regarding the partial refund. Informed them that he was not in NY state and was at his parents home in Minnesota at time of call (he told me this and I actually gave him the option to defer discussion, but he said it was ok). This whole experience feels like the true meaning of being gas-lit. To read a note saying I agreed to something I did not agree to and to read a note that has nothing to do with what we talked about is stomach-turning. I honestly was willing to move on after our discussion, I thought he was non-defensive, and seemingly accepting accountability for a sloppy and misrepresented service. It was actually commendable at the time. So I'm really let down by him. I had about 6 real visits with him and the claims issues have also been a mess, careless, missing vital info, lack of responsiveness from their office. It's nearly a year later and it's not fully resolved. It has taken up hours of my time to get them to move on this. I went in hopeful, seeking relief, but got added stress instead. I'm an RN for 33 years, and have had an unfortunate number of MD visits since my general health started to tank in the past 3 years. I'm pretty discerning from my professional experience of what makes adequate, great, or inadequate care. Part of the service experience is not just the medical piece. It's the entirety of the experience. I know others who have liked MDs but are blindsided by the lack of care and ethics in the financial aspect leaving the clients in very stressful situations. It is not worth it in the end.This is by far the most distasteful experience I've had to date. And after coming in hopeful and hearing such positive things. They claim to be ethical and transparent. There was nothing ethical or transparent about this whole debacle. I could not, in good conscience, recommend to anyone.

They don't rush you and really make sure all your questions are answered. Coming from NJ it was a little bit of a hike but well worth it. Dr. Siefferman diagnosed me with more things that other doctors didn't catch. I also love that Dr. Nino their Rheumatologist works hand in hand with Dr. Siefferman. They came up with a wonderful treatment plan for me while working together to figure out what's best. I did get a procedure done in the office which the dr learned more about my case. The office is clean and the front staff and medical assistants are so sweet as well! They worked with our scheudle so that I don't have to drive in multiple times but once for 2 appointments. I highly recommend them! And am very happy that I found a new Rheumatologist and pain management doctor! Thank you Adam, Dr. Siefferman, and Dr. Nino for all your help.

From years of having my vitamins and nutrients malabsorbed, it's caused me to be diagnosed with Osteopenia at 38 years old, and the deterioration of my bones/teeth will only continue to get worse, over time.) In Spring of 2024, I sought out the help of Dr. Gary Zagon due to a seemingly progressive case of Osteopenia that had caused me to endure three bone fractures within 12 months. I broke my Right Tibia twice simply from an increase in my walking routine, and I broke my Left Foot (a "Jones Fracture") that required surgery with hardware implantation, because I misstept, and rolled my foot outward for one moment. Three extremely minimal/no-impact fractures in a year; Something needed to be done to strengthen my bones besides consuming an alarming number of vitamins. Dr. Zagon ordered blood work and various radiological tests to check my bone density and architecture. The results were consistent with what I knew; Moderate Osteopenia. Now what? Dr. Zagon had nothing to tell me. I asked if he could prescribe me a bone strengthening medication such as Boniva or Prolia, in hopes of counteracting the fast progression of my bone deterioration that occurs from my malabsorption. He brushed my request off by advising me that those medications are for treatment of Osteoporosis, not Osteopenia. I made my case: I malabsorb tremendously, I've had three life-idling bone fractures all caused from little to no impact and a few of my teeth were breaking. I needed some help! He ordered another round of blood tests for me and said he'd need the results of these tests to know if a Boniva or Prolia would be necessary. Fine. More blood. Great. Results came in. I heard nothing. I reached out to him via email, again, pleading my case. I was ignored. I reached out one more time, simply saying "Still waiting for a response". I have yet to hear from him. That was a month ago. He knows what he's doing in that, he knows what information he needs to gather prior to making an educated diagnosis. However, his bedside manner is atrocious. The continuous brush-off's, flouting my concerns, ignoring my emails; That's not what anyone deserves from a doctor when they're concerned for their health. He's not stupid, but he is a jerk. I'd never recommend him to anyone, and I'll never follow up with him, again. I have an appointment to get a second opinion with someone else. Dr. Gary Zagon was a complete waste of my time.

They were great, but I was referred for follow up to Michael Hauser, M.D., a hand surgeon at 425 W 59th Street for follow up. I got an appointment for 2 weeks later, 10/5/20. I gave them my insurance information. I should have seen them sooner or 10/2 at the latest, but this was all they had. The office confirmed my appointment by text and phone message on 10/2/20. At 4:30 on Friday, 10/2, the office called me again to cancel and said they don't take my insurance. They left me hanging out to dry! They did give me the phone # for another office on Union Square, but that office could not take me until end of October. Too late! Now I have to find a doctor who can take my insurance. I need to see someone this week. I think I will get an appointment and visit the ER again to have a cast or re-splint. Is this negligence or malpractice? Would they blame the staff? Very irresponsible.
