This was by far the best restaurant of our 4 nights in the Winter Park area. We had steaks at both Deno's and Tabernash Tavern and the Wednesday night special of Smoked Prime Rib at Solstice was 10x better than both of those steakhouses for the same price. An added bonus was that the cocktails were well made. It was refreshing to finally find a place in the area that prided itself in high quality cocktails. I felt the craftsmanship of the cocktails definitely warranted the price. Lauren was a friendly, knowledgeable server and bartender. Very nice cozy restaurant with Michelin star type food. The rib eye steak was incredible. Negroni drink was perfect. Smoked salmon was amazing. Solid service but the place is just a little small and I can see how they get overwhelmed with customers at times. Look, let's be honest. There are some nice places in Grand County to grab a bite to eat. But really fine dining? Not so much. The folks at the Wild Horse Inn used to run Solstice as a kinda pop-up restaurant in Fraser next to the Safeway in the winter when they weren't catering weddings and events during the summers. But then the Fanches who own Devil's Thumb bought the Inn owners out for over $3 mill a while back when they were on their way to buying up the whole county. So what happened to Solstice? Well, for a fraction of that price some sweet hard-workin' folks bought the Wild Horse catering business and . . . wait for it . . . yes . . . Solstice. Now (sweet) Sue and her partner have just started running Solstice as a full-time restaurant and boy does it rock. The place only seats around 25 people, but it'll be worth the wait (once everyone comes to understand that the place is now regularly open all the time this place is going to be jammed!). This new policy just started a couple/three weeks ago so when we came in last night the room was lightly used and we had a chance to visit with Sue, who's about one of the kindest best bartenders/servers/owners ever. We decided to make dinner out of five of their tapas offerings, starting with a super fresh and delicious salad, and followed by their smoked salmon crostini, dates with (spicy!) capicola skewers, ridiculously delicious scallops, and a really savory "burnt ends" dish of pork belly bites and crispy(!) mini-ravioli. Can't believe we had room for dessert, but the flourless chocolate tart with homemade whipped cream and raspberry preserve sauce was something we couldn't resist. (Next time I'm coming for you Mr. Key Lime pie:). All in all, a truly fine dining experience at a reasonable price point. A MUST VISIT if you are in the area! This is THE BEST family owned and operated bistro in the business! Shannon made me the best vesper martini. I had to come back the following week to see her sister, Lauren, who made the Mai Thai of a life time. Carter, the executive chef, is getting employee of the month from me because the Tuna tataki was off the charts and the prime rib special on Wednesdays made me have wet dreams. Between the ambiance, decor and Shannon's charming smile it is difficult to say what is the best of the best about this place. At the end of the day, it all rocks - hardcore. read more

I just had dinner a this wonderful bistro. The menu was varied and wonderful. My steak was cook over open flames and my friend had the pork belly and bowtie pasta and it was even better. Had a wonderful Valentine's meal at Solstice bistro last night! The restaurant had a prix fixe menu this night with starters of mushroom ravioli, shrimp bisque, and a salad. We chose the short ribs and surf n turf for our entrees. Everything was delicious, esp the shrimp bisque and entrees, and portions were generous. The restaurant is tiny with a very cozy atmosphere and welcoming service. Austin, our server, was super friendly and very attentive. Will definitely be back for the key lime pie! read more

We found this little place after our first choice was closed for the off season with no notice. And my wife picked this place. As we pulled into the strip mall next to the grocery store, I was very unsure. Don't let the location fool you: This place is FANTASTIC. The service was impeccable. My wife had a small plate of soup, with bruschetta and Mac and cheese. I had the wild mushroom ravioli with mixed vegetables. Both dishes were terrific. And so were the portions. They brought my wife a French press for coffee afterwards with the strawberry cheesecake. Apparently this place is the top voted caterer in the local county (Frazier, Winter Park, etc). And it shows at their restaurant. We would go again in a heartbeat! read more

Such a good find. We just moved to Granby and we're looking for something besides burgers and pizza and this was it! We went for tapas and everything we had was on point. My fave was the bison ravioli and lamb slider. My husband loved the shaved steak and the bacon wrapped scallop. Great find in Fraser! Also split a bottle of wine and it was reasonably priced for the quality of food. Great ambiance and service, we will be back to try the main dishes next! read more

Came for the location, stayed for literally everything else!! We decided to come here for my boyfriends birthday dinner, while staying in Winter Park for the weekend, solely because of how close it was to our AirBnB and we are SO glad that we did! First off, the way they made such a small room feel so comfortable and welcoming is very impressive. The owner was actually our waitress and she was incredibly sweet and helpful. (She even solo sang a happy birthday when bringing out desserts!) For drinks, I started off with a glass of their house cab and it was so yummy (especially for the cheapest option) and I nearly got a second until I tried the grapefruit old fashion(pictured below) my friend was drinking. It was so incredible and the grapefruit masked the bourbon so nicely it made it more of a refreshing drink than something with a hard bite like I'd normally correlate old fashions to. The boys also got Deer Hammer Scotch on the rocks and were oh so eager for their second pours. Okay, now onto the food... to start, the restaurant serves roasted pepper soup with coconut cream (which blew us all away) and spicy hummus with pita, compliments of the chef. The soup was outstanding, incredibly flavorful and intricate it almost had a Thai curry taste to it, and I wish it was an item on the menu as I would have gotten it for my main meal. The hummus was pretty standard but who doesn't love an extra tasty app. When ordering starters they have an awesome deal, where if you order 4 apps they will make it into a charcuterie board with some extra cheeses, crackers, olives and pickled veggies.(Posted below) We ordered the vegan mushroom caps, vegan cucumber roll ups, smoked pork belly Mac and cheese, and bacon wrapped scallops. It was all so fresh and tasty and loved having the added accoutrements to pair it all with. For mains, I got the spicy vegan noodle bowl (which was a bit over sauces in my opinion but still had some nice flavors to it), others got the house smoked salmon and the bison stroganoff which were both raved about, but the star of the show was their house special which was a beef short rib with onion rings and a vegetable medley for the birthday boy (pictured below) that was cooked to perfection and we nearly had to stop him from licking the plate clean. We ended with the brownie sundae and chocolate layer cake, both topped with a pretty gold candle to top off the birthday festivities. 10/10 meal from start to finish!! Vegans and meat eaters alike will thrive here! Pro Tip: Call ahead for a reservation! They don't have very many tables and you NEED to stop here when in Winter Park. read more

What a quaint little 5 star tapas and dinner spot! The owner hand crafted a Screwdriver for my husband, hand squeezing the oranges into his drink! They did the same for a custom Bloody Mary. All of the Tapas were fantastic! We had an 8 year old and they volunteered a cute Shirley Temple for her. Make reservations! They were having to turn people down! While Hess Select Cabernet is a decent house wine - available at $12.47 RETAIL- there is no reason to charge $69.00 in a restaurant. Was very much looking forward to a return visit having had a delightful experience in 2023. Unfortunately we encountered dry pasta entrées that sat under the heating lamp for 20 minutes meats that were barely passable and a shrimp bisque which was so watery. it was pathetic.definitely not the experience we expected, and certainly not worth the excessive cost. read more
