Solution Painting painted our foyer, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The preparation before painting took a whole day. They moved and wrapped furniture to protect it. They taped down paper to protect the floors. They removed electrical plates and towel bars. They patched up nail pops and all uneven areas of drywall. They drywall looked brand new. When they were done, they moved everything back and replaced all the switch plates, towel racks, cabinets, light fixtures and furniture. They did an excellent of interior painting. read more

While not the cheapest bid we received by a long-shot, the quality of the work and care/attention to detail that Solution's crews provides is top, top-notch. We've used them for our new house to paint all of the interior - ceilings, walls, trim, some of the cabinet installations. And then recently had them come back to do the full exterior brick (including some really tall chimneys!). For the interior, we had our hardwoods refinished right before and were a little worried about paint splatter - there was literally NO splatter. The coats applied were all very even and the crews took their time and were not rushed in their work. Do not use this company unless you want to get sued. Every day, I had to point out problems and still the same problems surfaced. Mario Vega the owner is horrible to deal with and caused problems with the work crew to the extent that he was rushing them to finish the job and it's still incomplete. We have over 30 outstanding issues and asked Mario to honor "You only pay after you are 100% happy" that he said to me several times when providing the quote and on his website. We paid him a large sum and asked him to please address the outstanding punchlist before paying the remainder. He refused and became aggressive and threatened to sue us. And you know what he did? He sued us. This is the first time in my 55 years that I have had anything like this happen. Take my advice, do not use this company. His only concern is to grow his business but does not invest in training his staff to do a good job. read more

AVOID!!!!!!! Mario, the owner of the company, stopped by a few weeks ago and provided a quote. I've never met a business owner with such poor people skills. To start with, Mr. Vega wouldn't let me explain what work i wanted done in my own house, and instead went on a rant about what he would do, then abruptly tossed a quote at me and ran away as if he had somewhere better to be. Half the stuff he quoted me for wasn't even what i want done... On top of all of this, he was extremely rude and condescending throughout the walkthrough. He would make snide remarks that were not appreciated. If you don't have enough issues in your life and enjoy being treated poorly, this company will be a perfect fit for you. I can't imagine dealing with this kind of guy on a regular basis. FYI - his behavior appears to be a trend; look at the other 1 and 3 star reviews. Wished i took those more seriously before i wasted my time. Needless to say i'll take my business elsewhere, with a company that treat customers with respect. read more

The onsite supervisor, Wayne, was truly outstanding, as was his team of skilled and hard working painters. This was a big job - the whole house, with lots of wallpaper to remove. I was surprised by the level of preparation work they did. And they worked on that until it was right. We hired Solution Painting after seeing one of their banners at a neighbor's house. We were on the hunt for a painter and saw they were doing great work, so after seeing the banner we went online and read all the positive reviews on Yelp and Google. We are very careful people and we are so glad we made the choice to move forward with them. We're so glad we did. Mario came for a full walk-through of our house and we agreed to a big project: exterior paint, interior painting, and popcorn ceiling removal. They even offered to swap out door handles and light fixtures as part of the quote. The painting team did an excellent job. This was a big project that took over a week to complete, but like clockwork, each day the team was there early, led by the project manager Jose. Each day, he'd give me an update and would ask questions about details I hadn't considered. I really felt we were in good hands the entire time. This is also in the midst of the COVID pandemic, and as a high-risk person I'm pleased that each day the team wore masks. Really professional. In the end, the quality of work was excellent. When we had follow-up questions, Mario came out and took care of us. Patricia in the office was responsive and always helpful. This is the second time I have used Solution Painting in 8 years and each time has been a breeze to work with them. I have been posted overseas for the past 12 years and my house has been rented since then. Therefore all my interactions with any contractor has to be exclusively either over the phone or by email. Mario the owner came to the house and we walked through the space to be painted he made suggestions and explained that they would paint ceilings white (which I wanted), all the trims, the walls and match any colors I had picked out at his supplier to save costs. He also explained they would paint the recessed lighting to match the new white celilngs and remove all hardware and mirrors to paint behind rather than around (mirrors glued would not be removed). He made me very comfortable and confident that we could work together and achieve success! Mario explained how to reach him to schedule the work and also what items I needed to pack up so they could quickly move the furniture (valuables, fragile items, books from shelves, etc...). Painted entire living space of home including 2 story foyer (living room, dining room, office, kitchen, powder room, mud room, laundry room, four bedrooms, master bath and guest bath) using the colors I selected matched, painted all trim and ceilings for $4,000 less than the other quote. I also had them paint the shutters, front trim and front door, stained porch surface and repaired the mortar in brick facade around porch. All this in just two days! His foreman called me the first day explaining they were on their way and as I'd had surgery so was limited in my activity, Jose and I walked through the space and we marked the appropriate paint color in each room and I provided the swatches so they could order the paint (though I had provided this earlier). We also discussed the additional work on the front porch and outside which was not part of the original estimate. Jose had a crew of at least 12 guys and they worked two very full days @ 10 hours each and they moved and replaced all furniture, removed and replaced artwork and were very quick, thorough and incredibly professional. The house looks great, trim crisp and bright and after waiting for ten years to get the rooms painted - I love it. I was impressed by Solution Painting from the start. I live in a neighborhood where contractors tend to jack up prices just because of my zip code. Solution gave me a far more reasonable estimate than the other company I considered. The owner, Mario, gave me an estimate on the spot, whereas the other company sent someone and the owner later emailed me an estimate. It made it hard for the owner to specifically answer my questions since he never even saw my property. However, Mario seemed very knowledgeable about what the job would entail. The workers were very professional, friendly and courteous (even to my dog!) The supervisor spoke English well enough for me to communicate with him about the job, and Mario stopped by twice to make sure things were going well. Although this was an exterior job, there is no access to my backyard except by walking through my townhouse. The employees took care to line my floors with plastic to avoid dirtying the floors. I did have to leave my home for a few hours several times during the job, and felt quite comfortable leaving the crew alone here. They seemed very trustworthy, and are Solution Painting's known employees, not subcontractors just retained for that job. That gave me a lot of assurance that my home and possessions would be safe in my absence, and it was. These guys worked very hard, all day. Furthermore, I was really surprised by how much they were willing to do to make sure I was satisfied. For example, I was disappointed that the glossy paint I picked for the front door wasn't glossier, so Solution Painting added another coat to up the gloss for me. Additionally, there was some residue from tape stuck to my basement door from another contractor. The workers from Solution actually sat there and scrubbed it off with paint thinner even though they didn't cause the problem; they just wanted me to be totally satisfied with how my house looked! They also cleaned all of my storm windows before they reinstalled them. I was hugely impressed by Solution Painting. If I could give them 6 stars I would. They were absolutely fantastic. They just finished painting our entire house including kitchen cabinets and garage. They are the most professional contractors I have ever dealt with and their work is fantastic! Since we're home 24/7 with 2 kids doing online learning and a dog I was worried about having so much work done at once and where we would go. They did a great job working around us so that we always had a space to "live"in. The foreman met with me each afternoon and let me know where they would be working the next day. They also replaced a bunch of light fixtures at no extra cost. They offered to replace all door handles and hinges as well but we decided against that. They finished the entire project in 9 days which is a lot quicker than they estimated (we have a large house with a lot of trim). I got 3 estimates and they were in the middle price wise. May 2015 job - From the start the experience was a very positive one. The first contact was with the office to schedule the estimator - she was polite, professional & personable. The 2nd contact was with the estimator. He listened carefully to our concerns and priorities, offered suggestions & gave us quotes with the appropriate amount of detail to avoid misunderstandings. He gave us 2 written quotes for the whole house & the mission-critical walls. Follow-up with the office to schedule was great - despite my nervous-nelly emails to confirm the appointment & details, the office was friendly & professional. She sent me a detailed 'next-step' explanation. The crews arrived on time each day and began work immediately. Each day they laid down tarps to catch debris. There were no 'idlers'. Typically they broke for lunch at noon & were back to work by one pm. Even though I wasn't paying by the hour, such adherence to typical business principles was reassuring to me - they were part of a well-managed team of professionals. When we contacted the office about the weather forecast of 45% rain the next afternoon (when the job would be finished), he quickly & graciously rescheduled for the following day - calling the crew to make sure they reattached the drain spout & covered an exposed area (they were already on it). The last day, the crew ran a 2nd coat of paint over several sections on the back wall that had been scraped down to the raw wood or really faded. The finished job was outstanding! My husband & I carefully looked over the two walls. We wouldn't have been surprised to see a couple of drips here or there or at least on the ground but that was not the case! The two walls look amazing, the white trim is pristine. The grounds were cleaned up - you couldn't tell they were there. We've had professional painters work on our house before - interior & exterior - not to mention that I've painted the house too (it was grueling & not fun climbing around on scaffolding). This has been the best job by far - the least stressful with the best results. We had 3 quotes from 3 A rated Angie's List companies. Solution Painting was the highest by 20%. But the testimonial details from past customers, the company's website & my experiences with the first 2 representatives of the company, swayed us to go with Solution Painting. I'm glad we did. I just had my apartment painted by Solution Painting last week and I am thrilled with everything about this company, from their promptness to their professionalism to the beautiful job they did with painting my new place. I was working with another painting company for a few weeks, and they didn't show up to an appointment and then stopped returning my calls. I had about a week until my move-in and was desperate for some last minute help. I called Solution Painting after reading the amazing reviews on Yelp. The receptionist I spoke with was so friendly and accommodating. I called her on a Friday and needed the apartment painted by Thursday the following week. She set up an appointment for the quote and walk through on Wednesday morning, and held the paint crew for me for Thursday. Without a down payment or anything. Wow. I was already impressed. Mario, the owner, came promptly at 9am for the walk through, gave us the quote and gave us a fair estimate. The painters came the next morning, on time and as promised, I walked them through what colors to paint which walls, and left them to it. I got a call about 8 hours later telling me the job was completed. I went to see it later that night and was so happy with how it turned out. It looked absolutely beautiful and was so well done. Solution Painting stripped, stained and sealed our three wooden garage doors and front doors. They did an amazing job sanding the doors, getting off all of the old stain. There were three of them and they each worked sanding a door for three days. I bought a few different stains and they put on a patch of each one so I could choose which one I liked and then sanded off the samples. This was at the beginning of the coronavirus so I was nervous about having them in the house to use the bathroom, but they never asked to use it. I really appreciated that! The only negative thing I can say is that they took a week off in the middle of our job to go do another job. They didn't ask, they just went. They left on Thursday, said they would be back on Saturday. They didn't come so I called Patricia and she said they would be back on Tuesday. Didn't show. They finally came back on Friday--a week later. Not the end of the world, but I would have preferred better communication. I would use them again. read more

Mario came to my home to give an estimate on stripping and restaining a balcony and deck. He said the stain was fine, I should wait a year or two before doing this. He gave me an estimate, very good price, good for at least a year. I also asked for an estimate to paint my laundry/storage room floor. Another company had given me an estimate, but Mario said I should not paint the floor as it will scratch easily and then will begin to peel. Any other contractor would have given me an estimate for both jobs when it was not necessary or even advisable to do the work, at least not at this time. I very much appreciated Mario's honesty. I wish I could give more stars. We recently moved into a new home and Mario and his team did an amazing job. Mario met me at our property a few weeks before we closed, he measured and provided me with an estimate that included labor and materials. We scheduled our days to paint, a few days prior to, they confirmed and then on the morning of day 1, they showed up on time, were meticulous in taping and sealing and then began to paint. We moved into a brand new construction and they didn't just slap on some paint, they went ahead and sanded any rough spots in the dry wall, removed fixtures, mirrors, vents. Where most people would just tape things off, they actually removed items, they left the place at the end of each day in perfect condition. When they finished the job, in 2 days, as planned, the house looked stunning, they left us extra paint, walked me through every room to ensure I was pleased and then did one final sweep to ensure everything was perfect. A few days later I received my bill for the exact amount I was quoted. The process was so seamless and professional, my home looks stunning and the crew were extremely professional and polite, this was such a pleasant experience. We are looking to do some additional painting in the house and I will certainly call Solution Painting back! read more

Solution painting has been excellent all around. My wife and I have used them on 2 separate occasions for a number of jobs. The first time we used them to completely repaint our townhouse, floor to ceiling, cabinets, and scrap the old popcorn from the ceilings. They went above and beyond. They do much more than just paint; they also repaired damaged drywall, reattached loose doors, etc. On the second occasion, we were preparing our home to sell and had a number of odd jobs to complete. They fixed loose doors, touched up paint, repaired, trim, replaced a broken tile, patched a hole in the ceiling, and repaired exterior trim. Of all the jobs they have done for me, only one needed to be redone. This was the replacement tile which didn't settle properly. Their customer service is awesome (Rosy is great!), and they came right out and fixed the problem. It now looks great. The whole house looks amazing and is already under contract to be sold!
