I came to Kimberly in August of last year when I was in the deepest throes of my acne--I found her on Yelp when I was looking for a dermatologist to start accutane. I have battled with acne for my entire adult life but I have always stopped short of accutane bc of the horror stories of hair loss etc. I have tried literally every acne treatment and service under the sun--if it's out there I've tried it. Due to some hormonal fluctuations after I quit breastfeeding my second child, my skin was freaking out and wouldn't respond to anything. Enter Kimberly--she takes an old school approach that requires consistency and a deep knowledge of skin that only years of experience can provide. She doesn't sell you fluff, she is results driven, and that is what we are all looking for is it not? If you're a skincare junkie like I am, be prepared to ditch your collection in favor of her products and routine-- but just trust the process. She also helped me to incorporate tazorac (an rx product) into my routine which worked perfectly. I tried retinoids before and failed bc I wasn't using it properly. It takes time (I'm now 7 months in) but she knows what she is doing! It is definitely not overnight (but what is!?) and it can be deflating every breakout, but keep at it and just trust her. Wow, I've known Kimberly for 9 years. In the years after I initially saw Kimberly in 2013 (at age 25), for my hormonal acne outbreak, I had mostly acne-free skin with only an occasional pimple here and there. I had fallen into the typical trend of using Groupons or deals/promotions I saw on IG or Facebook for facials and tried new skincare products from popular brands like Rodan & Fields, Tatcha, or whatever I saw on Sephora (i.e. Drunk Elephant, Peter Thomas Roth to name a couple).* After my latest "trend" of going to Skin Laundry for monthly facials due to a hormonal acne outbreak on my face and my chest, my skin got worse and I didn't know what to do. But really, I did know what to do, but here I was trying to "save" money by finding deals. To be honest with you, I probably spent more money on stuff that did not work for my skin (I'm sorry, Kimberly!). I came back to Kimberly again in October of 2021 (now, age 33) and she graciously took me back as a client and my skin has been happy to be back with her. Before and after pictures from the 4 months I've been working with Kimberly. Safe to say my life has completely changed. I used to be controlled by my skin and it was extremely damaging to my self esteem and ability to feel confident in life and at work. You can see in the photos how much my skin has changed with the treatments Kimberly has been doing and the at-home routine she's curated for me. She has always been very accommodating to my request that everything be pregnancy safe since I want to start trying in the near future. The treatments and products are expensive (though "expensive" is a relative term!!) but if you're struggling with your skin and have the capacity to invest in a solution, this is the key. Also, the products are definitely not more expensive than any other nice skin care lines you may be exploring on your own with trial and error! TLDR: My goal in seeing Kimberly was to reduce my dark acne scars and prevent new acne scars from forming. I went through 3 treatments with Kimberly over 2 months, and ended up stopping my treatments due to the high costs and low rewards. Full pros and cons list of my personal experience below: Pros: - Kimberly is very responsive via texts. It is super convenient to be able to book appointments and ask her any questions via text messaging. - Kimberly is very knowledgeable and definitely knows her stuff regarding product ingredients and whether they are comedogenic! She kindly offers to look at the product ingredients of any products you are already using, and gives her advice on whether you should keep using them or not. Her information has been very helpful to understand if certain products are more prone to break you out. - Her product recommendations are pretty nice and feel luxurious! Slightly unrelated, but I was having major dry eye issues, and her recommendation to halt all products and switch over to some of her recommendations have IMMENSELY helped my dry eyes -- I think I was using a sunscreen or serum that would creep into my eyes and make them dry. Since I've seen Kimberly and used her product recommendations, my eyes have felt much better. - She's typically friendly and tries to get to know you as a person instead of just another client. - When I told her I was going to stop my treatments, she was very friendly about it and did not try to convince me otherwise. Cons: - Treatments are pretty costly and are advertised to start at $150, but typically cost closer to $200+. She also does not provide information during the treatment as to what "add-ons" you are getting, and does not provide an itemized receipt at the end either. It is almost a surprise each time. - Her self-branded products are also pretty costly -- a 4oz bottle of cleanser costs $30-35 and a 3-4oz bottle of hydrator costs $40-45. It was just not a lot of product for what I was paying (I was coming from using a lot of CeraVe products, so take this information as you will). - While she has a few outside brand recommendations, she is adamant that you purchase these from her at a higher cost than what you would pay on Amazon or other sites -- again, something I was not able to afford. - She is a little pushy on trying to sell you product during your treatments. During all of my treatments, she was trying to sell me something each time -- I bought a few items, but always felt a little guilty saying no to other items. - On my last visit, I complained that the treatment she had me on was too aggressive (I was suffering through feeling "burned" every night), and she basically chalked it up to me not communicating with her enough, even though I clearly told her on my first visit my typical routine. Overall I just wasn't seeing enough results to justify the price of everything. Combined with the harsh treatment (which I think put me through a bad purge), I am deciding to opt myself out... which is a shame since she has so many successful stories. Unfortunately, I was not able to be one of them. read more

I just want to take a moment and share how much Kimberly has helped me with my skin over the last 2.5 months of seeing her. In my teens when my skin "should" have acted out it was flawless - but as soon as my 20's hit I was struck with little bumps all over my face and then 30's hit & the really enflamed acne around my jawline and neck hit. I have done all the things - I see a naturopathic doctor, I changed my diet, I check my hormone levels twice a year via bloodwork, everything internally that could be addressed has been done. I started coming to Kim about 6 months after finishing Accutane for my severe cystic acne. My acne was cleared up for the most part but the scars were very much there. I saw Kimberly for about a year before I unfortunately had to stop seeing her because I moved to a different state. Before coming to Kimberly, I struggled with facial acne and blackheads. During the first session, Kimberly asked about the products I was using (popular Korean facial brands) and we together investigated the ingredients. Kimberly is very knowledgeable about skincare ingredients and identified ones that were detrimental/beneficial. After her advice, I started using products that she suggested would help with my skin issues and fit my skin type (combination, oily). I fell in love with the vitaplus clay mask she gave me - after a few sessions, my skin glowed and I felt a lot more confident without makeup. Oh my gosh !! Kimberly is angel sent ! After a few visits and actually listening to her recommendations of home care my skin cleared ! Let me tell you I've tried all prescribed medications other than accutane , I really didn't want to put my mental and physical health under that kind of stress with accutane.( it was my very last resource) I went vegan , cut out and stopped enjoying so much food which didn't really help my cystic acne at the end of the day . Came here because of the good reviews. The studio is clean and quiet and the appointment started/ended right on time. Kim seems very knowledgeable but also hesitant to share information. It seemed like I was limited on the number of questions I could ask, and her answers never really addressed my concerns. For the price of the service I expected to feel more comfortable in asking questions and getting a little bit of education on my skin type and how to care for it at home in between treatments. She's pretty adamant about recommending that you buy her products or only telling you about the products that she carries and doesn't offer opinions or advice on outside products. I can definitely understand the reasoning, but as a new client it would be helpful to understand what ingredients or types of products are good/bad for your skin type. As I left, she did say that I could text her afterwards if I had any questions about my skin regimen but I was honestly surprised by the rude responses I received which were unprofessional. If you're someone just looking to go in and out this place may work but if you're someone hoping to learn about your skin and how to care for it at home and build a relationship with your esthetician, I wouldn't recommend going here. read more

Update June 2018: Kimberly is a regular part of my life now, her treatments and product recommendations have totally changed my skin for the better! I love how she customizes each appointment based on what's going on in your life and with your skin. I can't wait to continue my skin journey! I started coming to Kimberly because I had some redness and itching all along my jawline and up into part of my cheeks. I believe this reaction was due to a different skincare treatment I was doing to manage my mild acne. I have only been coming to Kimberly for 1 month but she has already addressed both of my issues (facial redness and itching, mild acne). She started off by working with my skin to help it heal from the previous abrasive treatment and the itchiness went away after only 1 appointment. Now, a month in, the redness is about 90% gone and continuing to fade every day! After we got the itchy, redness under control (my 3rd treatment) we started to tackle the mild acne. I just had the acne treatment 5 days ago and my existing acne healed up in a few days! Yesterday, I had my hair and makeup trial for my upcoming wedding in September (I went early so I could use my makeup and an altered hairstyle for my bridal shower). My makeup artist likes to do the trial at least 2 months before the wedding in case your skin is hard to work with so that she can make recommendations for your skincare leading up to the wedding and you would have the 2 months to actually improve your skin for the wedding day. My makeup artist was thrilled with my hydrated skin, she said it was super easy to work with and that I was good to go with my skincare routine for the wedding! Thank you so much Kimberly! She really goes out of her way to help her clients! In fact, I moved out of state a 2 years ago and she has been sending me my products ever since - that's how dedicated I am to the routine she recommended. Wow, it's a shame to have such great reviews and such poor customer service. I called to schedule an appointment for my daughter. The person who answered the phone must have been having a terrible day. She was rude, short and just very unprofessional. She said her name was Kimberly and that this was her day off. She was only picking up because she thought it was her granite installer. Kimberly, don't answer the phone on your day off. read more
