This review is for a 55 Minute Deep Tissue Massage with Joseph: Holy guacamole wow. I thought I've had a DEEP tissue massage before... I was wrong. Or maybe Joseph's skills and strength are pure magic. He asked me what I came into the massage for & he listened, remembered, and addressed those areas. I could tell he knew what he was doing. I could tell he knew what he was doing because when he was doing one thing, he would have his hand on another spot in my body & was paying attention to the cues. A friend let me in on the little secret that is BodyCentre Day Spa. I have been seeing Kristina for well over a year now. Kristina is an incredible therapist. She does extra research to figure out ways to help heal and reset my body. She's done excellent work to really uncover and reset knots that have lived in my back, shoulders, and neck for years. Her work on my calves has helped reduce my plantar fascia issues such that I am playing sports more frequently and with more ease of movement than before. She's evicted several knots under my scapula that had been recurring, unwanted guests for almost a decade. Kristina is an excellent observer and noticer of what is happening within the body. She is knowledgeable, skilled, and has clear expertise that continues to grow because she is constantly seeking knowledge so she can refine her skills. I was greeted by friendly staff but my experience waned as time went on. They have freshly baked cookies (compliments to the baker- the oatmeal raisin cookie was delicious!) and a cute mellow dog at the front with very cozy chairs. There's many services available under one roof. The massage was overall nice with a surprise scalp massage. However, the room I was in was cold combined with the cold massage oil made me freezing and I believe I ended up shivering at one point. My masseuse, DeeDee, had a chaotic energy and she told me it was hard for me to relax at the end of my session... Yes, that's why I booked a "relaxation" massage to try to get a glimpse of that feeling. As someone going through intense grief, it felt a bit insensitive to be told that by a masseuse. She also told me she had a client immediately after me so I "had to hurry" and she shamelessly asked me for a tip (which I still did for the record). I really wanted to walk away feeling good and recommend this place to my friends but I sadly cannot. read more

Altitude Training Signed up with Mark for altitude training to prepare for the trek on Mt Kilimanjaro. In each training session he took me to a higher altitude which was very helpful since it gave me an idea of how I would react physically and mentally to a decrease in oxygen as the elevation increased. The training was a good experience and it's better to know what might happen while on the mountain than not. The training gave me the confidence to climb the mountain and summit. Despite five rainy and very cold days which made the hike much harder and dangerous, I'm happy to say that my friends and I summited. Thank you Mark, for your support and guidance! read more

Unfortunately was not a good experience. I was picked up late for my appointment and then was finished early. I didn't get my full time. I went with someone else who got taken back for their massage before me (on time), as I waited in the waiting room. Then after the massage, I paid and was still waiting for the person I came with to be done with their massage. Even after the massage therapist came in the room, he wasted another ten minutes looking around the cabinets and under the table for the table warmer but he couldn't find it. So my massage time was cut and I received a cold massage! I'm pretty upset I had to pay for a full massage when I only got half the time. Wouldn't recommend! read more

I have chronic neck and shoulder pain so I drove from Long Beach for the neck and shoulder massage with Marissa and it was amazing. I've never had anyone actually focus on my neck like she did.
