I had a lower blepharoplasty and Wave Lift (a lower facelift with endoscopic dissection and facial muscle repositioning) at Wave Plastic Surgery three months ago, and unfortunately, I've been very disappointed with the results. Originally, I went in for a consultation specifically for a lower blepharoplasty. However, during the appointment, both Verana and Dr. Peter Lee strongly encouraged me to also undergo the Wave Lift, stating it would create a more balanced and youthful overall result. Verana spoke highly of Dr. Lee's expertise, emphasizing his steady, skilled hand and how the Wave Lift allowed for precise repositioning of facial muscles, especially in the jaw and lower face, with minimal scarring. I was told that while it cost more, it was a long-term investment in my appearance and that I would be happy with the outcome. They also tried to upsell me on a chin augmentation, which I ultimately declined because it felt excessive for what I was initially seeking. While I understand that healing can take time, I'm still seeing issues that are hard to ignore. The right side of my face has several areas where it looks like fat was removed, leaving visible hollows, along with a small blemish-like bump and a dimple on my upper cheek -- none of which were there prior to surgery. I used to feel confident favoring that side of my face, but now I find myself covering it daily with makeup and my hair. The most troubling result has been the lower blepharoplasty. It seems excessive fat was removed from under my eyes, resulting in a sunken, hollowed appearance. Rather than looking refreshed and well-rested, I now appear more tired and aged -- exactly what I was hoping to avoid. My primary concern going into surgery -- clearly discussed during my pre-op consultation -- was the lower portion of my face. That's why I agreed to the Wave Lift. I had no interest in altering my upper cheek area, yet it now looks noticeably different in a way I never asked for. I'm also still seeing prominent buccal fat in the lower face, which I was told could be addressed, and I've developed unusual grooves at eye level on both sides that weren't present before surgery. I have a follow-up appointment scheduled and hope some of these concerns can be addressed, but I felt it was important to share my experience. On February this year, I had my first time sculptra treatment in Wave Plastic Surgery (Costa Mesa) with 1 vial. I clearly communicated with the nurse (Pauline Saria) and the sales (Vivian) that I wish to tighten the face without any puffy or filling effects, I strongly strengthened my cheeks are already too puffy thus I don't want anything to be added on. However, the injection of 1 vial sculptra was mostly done on my cheek area, which cause a severe swell on the same day. After one month, I can touch there is a gelosis (peanut size) below my right eye. The return visit was on early April with Pauline (RN) and Vivian (sales), Pauline touched my face and admitted that she might inject too much on the same area (below my right eye) neglecting my aggressive reaction on sculptra. She suggested that I can continue to observe the further result and gelosis may decrease. On July 22th, I had my second return visit since the gelosis was still there and my cheeks were swollen. Vivian scheduled Dr. Ben Lee for help. I clearly stated that the gelosis caused by sculptra was movable now. My right face was swallowed and cheek area was painful sometimes so I was so much worried about inflammation or scar tissue on my face. But Dr. Ben Lee completely ignored my concerns and simply said there's nothing they can do. The Dr. Ben Lee and Vivian didn't help me to identify why the gelosis caused or how to fix it, they just denied the failure injection and tried to blame me on my own body's "aggressive reaction to sculptra". The fact is I didn't have any fillers on my cheek area or under eyes and all my health reports were good. I was so angry that Dr. Ben Lee and Vivian's attitude was so irresponsible and unprofessional. The only thing they did was to avoid responsibility and denied their false. They completely ignored my statement and tried their best to obfuscating the issue. Vivian even denied that she had said "sculptra will help me with tightening up my face" when she was selling me. I appreciate Pauline admitted her mistake at my first return visit. But Dr Ben Lee and Vivian did nothing to help me or fix the incident. Currently I asked for a refund but Vivian said they don't have their manager's name card or email. She only gave me the official line number for waiting their call back. She refused to give me any help on getting refund or getting medical assistance. She said their clinic is only for treatment, it is not a place to get refund or consultant. I've been a loyal customer her for 5 years, but my latest experience here was so hurtful that I burst into tears in the clinic. I made an appointment to get my nose filler (I got the last one here 2 years ago) dissolved with hyaluronidase, in order to get a new one here the following week. I was told on the phone that there will be no extra charge since I got my filler here. When I arrived, however, I was charged $500 for the procedure. Their reason being it's been over 2 years and it's impossible for the filler to last that long, so I must've got a new filler somewhere else. Verana, the office manager Khoa, and Thuy came in to question me on whether the filler is really from Wave. Verana was especially rude and straight up said I must've got it somewhere else and suggested I was lying. I had no way of proving my innocence and was extremely hurt by their insinuation that I was lying. However, during my procedure, after Thuy injected 1 dose of hyaluronidase (the standard dose for most people), my filler wasn't dissolving. Then she injected another dose. My filler was still not fully dissolved. She said that in some rare cases, the body can encapsulate the filler, which prevents it from being absorbed, which explains why my filler was still intact after 2 years! So after treating me like a liar, wrongfully charging me $500, and claiming that it's impossible for the filler to last that long, they just contradicted their claim and what happened during my procedure proved that it is indeed possible and I was that rare case! When I confronted them, all they said was "well that's a rare case" This shows how incompetent and unprofessional they are. I'm extremely hurt by the way I was treated here. It literally brought me to tears. There was no apology from anyone for interrogating me for an hour and no refund for the $500 I was wrongfully charged.
