One of my favorite Brooklyn bars I hung out at during the week I was staying there! It's a great vibe inside - feels very cozy and like a lovely escape from the cold outside during the winter months. During the month of December, they had a lot of holiday themed decor up and all throughout the space, making it feel almost like a Holiday pop-up bar with how festive and extensive the decor was! We mostly came here for hanging with some drinks, so I haven't tried any of the food. There were some good happy hour options, however, including a Taco Tuesday that I noticed signs advertising by the bar! The beer/draft selection here is very extensive and I loved the creative and quirky names that a lot of them had! One of them was something along the lines of 'Fat Orange Cat', which was a favorite of ours. Great variety in the flavors and styles, so pretty much everyone would be able to find something! It was sometimes a little hard to get an order in with a bartender...but when I did, they were always super friendly and hospitable. This bar is a great and necessary spot to have in the area. There just aren't that many bars in the hood any more that have: An actual happy hour ($6 beers, $7 well drinks). Good bar food. Space to gather. Great bartenders. So Someday has been a welcome addition these past few years. It can certainly get crowded, and it's often hopping even on weekday evenings, but you can usually find a table, or a spot on the couches in front (super comfortable) while you have a few beers and unwind. There are a bunch of cocktails on the menu, but for me it's more of a beer or beer/shot special kind of spot. The draft selection is full of craft quality, but I do still wish they had Guinness (my mainstay). Like I said, it's wonderful to have some good bar food while you imbibe. The wings here are very solid, and really anything they fry (chicken tenders, fries, or anything hot dog related ($2 Dogs & $6 Specialty Dogs on wurst Wednesday) has been a tasty choice. I hear they even have brunch, although I haven't yet had the pleasure. It will continue to be a go-to whenever I want to meet up with friends and don't want to sit down for dinner. They will add gratuity on you occasionally, but I would've tipped better than 20% anyway, so it's cool. read more

Someday Bar...not a fan at all. Only reason I'm giving them two stars is because the ambiance was pretty cute & they are open until late as well. I got the pink 75 & truth be told I barely tasted any gin let alone the prosecco. As for the food, the brussel sprouts were way too sweet. The smash burger was overcooked & hence honestly inedible. Came on a Sunday just for some drinks and it was nothing spectacular. What makes everything worse, is that there is a 20% gratuity automatically added onto your tab for parties 6 or more. Gratuity is fine, but not when I have to walk to the bar, order my drinks and bring them all back to the table myself too. If I'm doing all the work, I should be choosing how much I want to tip for the service of making my drink. read more

This is such an eccentric and fun bar along Atlantic Ave. They offer daily specials with Taco Tuesdays, Wurst Wednesdays, Drag shows on Wednesdays, Bao Bun Thursdays, Brunch Saturday & Sundays, and Happy Hour Monday-Friday 4-7pm. We came on a weeknight at 10:30pm, so nice option for late nights as not many bars stay open late on a weeknight. I decided to be adventurous with some fun drinks: All Mad Here ($14) and The Cat's Meow ($15). The drinks were decent; not my usual cup of tea, but the cat cup is definitely cute! While the drinks were just ok, the nachos ($12+$4 for meat) are the absolute best here! I am usually skeptical with nachos at a bar, but they use the melty nacho cheese slathered all over a bed a chips. I will come back to this bar for the nachos alone --so delicious! read more

I ordered the burger, but I didn't like that particular burger mix. It had a funny after taste, and the salad was good, in my opinion. The artichoke sip and chips was just okay. This is pretty good local bar. We decided to check this bar out due to Halloween coming up. Food wise they don't go cheap on their burger portions. For 19.00, I would recommend the whisky burger! It comes with double patty, union rings and bacon! You can taste some of the whisky on it! Service was fast , I can't say much about the ambiance because it is Halloween but I do love their decorations. So overall I would recommend their bar food. I only had an IPA here but if you're looking for a bar not too crowded with good burger portion then this could be a potential spot! read more

Our group stumbled upon Someday Bar as we were in Brooklyn for a wedding and had some time to kill before the evening reception. Such a cool and eclectic spot! Terrific choices for craft beers and yummy bar food menu. Along with specialty cocktails. There is really something for everyone's palate here. Everything is on a QR code so make sure your phone is charged and internet connected. It's odd that there were no paper menus on hand, but it is what it is. Just a minor quibble. Hot pretzels, seasoned fries, chicken tenders all reallly good. Great staff and quick service. We found a nook to sit at right by the front window area. The place has a lively and fun decor. Came for a friend's birthday 2xs and each time is great. Their playlist is on the Pop side but will have bangers you forgot about. I came here for a friend's bday party and while the staff seemed overwhelmed and confused to have customers on a Saturday at 2:30pm (I was surprised because day drinking is a proud NYC tradition) they did a great job rising to the occasion. My favorite part, besides basically having the bar to ourselves, was that they had cocktail specials with proceeds going to abortion travel funds. I don't know about you guys, but when I enjoy an old fashioned at 4:00pm, I want to feel like I'm helping people who can't enjoy an old fashioned at 4pm - ya dig? Someday, bar was a cool place I like the atmosphere. I went around Christmas time so they had a Krampus decoration which was really really cool but I really like the aesthetics of the place. The drinks are good and they hit. The food was disappointing I expect a lot more flavor, something about the meat I didn't like the taste, and the appetizer was ok. This bar has good service. After an apartment viewing in the neighborhood, we stopped by here prior to our dinner plans. We weren't sure what we were expecting on a Friday night at around 6pm. The interior was huge, but there was more standing space than sitting space. The few larger tables were reserved for an event. Thankfully, it was a beautiful day outside so we sat outside. They had a great happy hour menu for beers that come in 16 oz only, some wines and house cocktails. I got a whiskey sour and it was legit. They represent a lot of local craft beers here which is welcomed. My only issue with all this? The menu is via QR code for the draft list and I'm old school and prefer a paper menu. The Hudson Valley cider I had was delicious and perfectly refreshing. We decided to nosh on some food and the fries and pretzel were very good. Everybody enjoyed their drinks and the bar was becoming more and more packed as the night went on. Restrooms are clean! Bartenders are friendly. Reserved space here for my wedding after party and it was great! The staff was awesome with spacing out when food came out and there was plenty for people to chow down on. The drinks are great, and they had Halloween themed drinks which were a big hit. I spoke with Megan in planning the event and she was excellent. She helped me pick out how much food to order and was very accommodating with everything. The decor of the place for Halloween was incredible. The layout is also great with plenty of space and a cozy nook that's fun to spend time in. First time in to this place, and I'm lucky I made it; the critical error resting exclusively with me. I'll fill you in on that in a second, but first...some backstory: Anyone familiar with Brooklyn knows there are an abundance of historical shotgun-style businesses tied together in a seemingly endless patchwork of construction. I thought I was fully aware of this as well, that is, until Someday Bar humbled me with precision embarrassment. You see, Someday Bar is two of those small shotgun-style buildings cleverly combined into one post-construction, eclectic format with a smattering of flamingo decor and just enough bright pink (flamingo-esk) neon light to set the theme solidly in place. The outside is cleverly painted a deep shade of green which ties the two buildings together--most likely pre-existing and indicative of their once former life as an Irish Pub; easily evidenced by decorative interior elements. So what happened? Why did I almost miss this little pleasure nestled into Atlantic Avenue? I picked the wrong door. Yup, any form of luck couldn't find my fat a$s on a single version of the "Let's Make a Deal" game show. Not only did I pick the wrong door once, I did it a second time. I'm sure most of you think it wouldn't be a big deal (Pun Intended) me either, but there's more to it. You see, as I was walking up on Atlantic Avenue, the neon flamingo sign drew me in like a little immature moth. Exactly as I wanted because I was looking for the bar, except it was hanging directly overhead of the second building. I walked completely past the entry door! When I got to the double doors of the second building (imagine three feet away at best,) I clearly remember seeing the sign on the furthest door which read, "Please Use Other Door." Awesome! I got this! So I promptly grabbed the knob of the door directly adjacent to the one that had the sign (picture a double door setup.) I tried with all my might to turn the knob to the left, turn the knob to the right, push, and then pull...all without any meaningful movement. Hmmmm. Keeping my cool, I looked up and through the glass door to see a party of six sitting at a table inside. I clearly had drawn their attention, but not yet their laughter. Having zero luck on this door, and now noting that I was being watched by a party of six, I quickly had to make a decision...Do I risk grabbing the door knob of the door where the sign is posted? The same sign that clearly says to use the other one? The one which all but told me the outcome before I started? My split second decision was YES! I have to try this door! As I repeat the whole twist left, twist right, push, pull process on this door, I look through the door to the party of six who is now laughing and pointing at me trying to get inside. They are gesturing to their left (my right) trying to let me know about the entry door that I had passed in my desire to gain entry. I thought they had sent me to trial and agreed on a conviction at this point. Having not seen the entry door in my haste to actually gain entry, I assumed they were telling me I could promptly "get the hell out of there!" Elementary school dodge ball memories be damned at this point. I'm going into this bar even if I have to break glass. Everything finally clicked, and I realized they were pointing at a previously undiscovered door. I regained my composure and walked in like nothing happened. A quick wave to the party of six, and I was off to find a seat at the bar. Jennifer quickly greeted me and made me feel at home. I ended up selecting the Singlecut Alternative DDH IPA for evening. Quite a fantastic brew! Be sure to check out the pic I posted. Nice tangerine notes to the IPA were definitely refreshing and paired well with the Someday Bar Pretzel Sticks! Jennifer was absolutely swamped, so Justin took the reigns for the most part. He was fantastic and extremely helpful regarding the local beer selections. I was able to sample many different brews from the area, but just like all multiple choice tests we've all taken in the past, first pick is usually the right one; I stayed with the DDH IPA for the rest of my Someday Bar journey. Hunger pangs be damned, I ordered the Someday Bar Pretzel Sticks. They came out wonderfully cooked, with just the amount of salt and butter to make them glorious. Accompanying the pretzel sticks was a properly portioned cup of beer cheese. At first glance, I was immediately disappointed and fearful to dip a piece of the pristine pretzel into this "cheese" with a mashed potato like consistency. Boy, I'm sure glad I did. The flavor was off the charts and provided a mouth feel completely different from any other beer cheese I've ever tasted. Spicy mustard is also available, but you have to ask for it. So if you're ever in Brooklyn, stop buy and give these guys a try! I'm certain you won't be disappointed. As always, remember, the squirrel is only crossing the road because he's chasing nuts. read more

Noticed a blue cheese burger added to their menu so I had to try it- have to say, the patties were a bit dry this time, and were a bit too heavily salted, so the burger overall was way too salty because blue cheese in itself is salty. This place was great! We went to a bar in the area after dinner, but it was a Saturday and we had a big group so we wanted to go somewhere we could all actually sit near each other and talk. We found Someday and had a great time! Great cocktail and beer options. We got some desserts and they were delicious. The chef/owner who made them even came out to ask us how we liked them. We had a mango cake and beignets, which, honestly, were better than the ones I had in New Orleans. They also had Women's History Month cocktails with Girl Scout cookies in them. It was a great place! What a horrible experience. I was here Monday evening with a good friend in town. We had just finished a photo shoot and wanted to experience some amazing food somewhere local because the reviews were great. AMBIANCE: September 26th upon entering on we weren't greeted, there was no one behind the bar but several patrons seemed to be eating and enjoying themselves. I would later learn as I spoke to several as I waited to be served that most were regulars. We waited for over 10 minutes and then a short bearded male approximately 35, Caucasian with his hair tied in bun came rushing from the back and apologized. He seemed unwell (shaky, preoccupied) then asked if we wanted drinks. We ordered. He began talking to two younger women who entered and forgot about our drinks. Returned 5 mins later, asked our order again, we repeated it and he sloppily served over poured rum drinks and a rancid old-fashion. As more people began to enter the service became increasingly worse. He didn't return back after dropping off the drinks, didn't check-in and didn't acknowledge us. We were literally ignored for over 30 minutes as he flirted with the women that entered, forgot our food orders and rolled his eyes when we asked for basic things like ketchup and straws. I saw him give friends free shots and him give his number to a patron while on the lock (whatever shoot your shot but don't let it effect the quality of service). I overheard him go to a table and apologized for delays and comp food and even was fairly cordial and polite. NOTES: Unfortunately We didn't get that same level of courtesy and I truly think it's because we were BLACK. This venue had over 20 patrons and we were the only BLACK ones and were actively ignored and met with an attitude and bad service. It's hard to articulate micro aggressions like this but it was a palatable feeling of whiteness and gentrification permeating in this space. I can't find all the appropriate words to describe this horrific situation BUT.. if you're POC you know this feeling all too well. This place screams flannel-wearing white hipster and I wouldn't recommend me this place to anyone that doesn't fit that vibe. ORDER: Eventually 35 mins after ordering our food... we were able to enjoy a really good meal. The food was brought out personally by the chef who was gracious kind and apologized for the delay. The bites were instagram worthy which isn't typical for dive bar eating. The food was cheap, delectable and made with soul. The bartender was trash. The patrons overwhelmingly Caucasian. GREAT BEIGNETS I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who prioritizes ambiance. Oh and then there's the Black Lives Matter sign (shabby plywood with the phrase spray painted laid on the ground in the bathroom hallway. Likely a relict to avoid retribution during the George Floyd protest. I guarantee it's still there on the hallway floor and it pretty sums up my experience at this establishment.) read more

Stopped by here after strolling around Atlantic avenue for a hot toddy. With the new NYC regulation that food must be consumed when sitting down, i found that this bar has lots of low priced bites so that you don't feel like you have to buy a big meal when all you want is to have a drink or two. staff is nice. outdoor seating. Alex, go back to Wisconsin. It's a bar in NY. The food has been consistently solid here. Drink prices makes sense for the neighborhood. It's modern decor for a bar and something reminiscent of a Bushwick bar (minus the divey-ness). I suppose my only gripe can be the guests and the brightness of the bar. It's not quite cafeteria bright but almost. Also, people here can be a hit or a big, big miss. People who don't know how to order at a bar, get as bartender's attention without being obnoxious, or even clean up after themselves when there's clearly no table service. Then occasionally, there's a cool person to end up in a chat with. Over all, good spot. read more
