Super sweet owners. Very helpful towards the staff and community. A little messy but other than that it's a fine place.

Dump! Even the lowest of college kids don't go here. Dirty, cruddy, disheveled, outdated.

This is the best place to go for karaoke in this area. I also got free bacon occasionally

If someone knew you were going out to Hillary's there were multiple orders to pick-up. When I moved to Kenosha, we would ride down to Waukegan and pickup orders. The service was not the same, but the food was on point. I have had ribs, rib-tips and catfish. When Hillary's opened in Kenosha, I was really glad because I wouldn't have to go to Illinois. The food now was just "okay", nothing to brag about, so I would occasionally go back to Waukegan and Zion. For the past few 5 years or more, I eat sporadically from Hillary's, but am always on the lookout for some "delicious" ribs. The quality of the ribs has sunk so low, that the only good part is the sauce. Ever so often I would get a decent meal, but it so seldom, that I have chosen not to go, if there is anywhere else I can go to. Finally, my husband and I ordered a small rib tips order; one with hot sauce and the other, with mild sauce. We didn't expect much, and we were not dissapointed. The very first piece was amazingly chewy. And each piece afterwards was worse. I thought if I let it sit in the sauce for awhile, the pieces would soften up. That did not happen. My husband eventually tossed his order. I tried to eat mine, but it was like chewing on leather, merely an exercise for your jaws. I am done! And this saddens me because I was there when Hillary first started selling barbecue out of his garage. He's no longer with us, and the business bearing his name is a disgrace.

Our burger club always ventures a little further out during Thanksgiving and the summer when our…read moreschedules are a little lighter, so in 2025, we ventured out to Kenosha for The Garage. It was a weeknight, but the street we were driving up to get here was a little dark and run down. But don't let that deter you. They have a nice sized parking lot for their location. Then we walked inside and found a narrow room with a bar running the length of one long wall and counter height tables and chairs perpendicular to the opposite wall. They really jammed in as much as they could in the space that they have. The ambience was dark and moody. They were playing hard rock and the bar had a couple of regulars sitting inside. At the end of the bar at the far end, was a cubicle of a kitchen. That's where the magic happens. Their menu is simple: appetizers, burgers, and build your own burgers. That's it. We all built our own burgers and they have a LOT of options. However, the build your own may start at $9, but each topping adds to the cost. But who cares? The burgers were phenomenal! Their website clearly states, "Best burgers, ever." And they're not wrong. The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and delicious. Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. And everything is made in this tiny area at the end of the bar. We were the only people in the place after about 20 minutes, but again, who cares. The staff were extremely friendly. Their playful banter and bickering when they cleaned up was hilarious to listen to, and they were lovely to talk to as well. One of our group wanted to pick up some Spotted Cow beer (you can't get it in Illinois) and asked about a place to get it nearby. They suggested Shenanigan's with a drive-through just a couple blocks away. We have to make another trek back. They are awesome and their burgers are great, too!

We ordered pulled pork, chopped brisket, smoked Turkey, and ribs for the meats. And for the sides, we ordered Mac & cheese, fried okra, baked potato casserole, and baked beans. All were good, especially the okra, which was delicious - crunchy& great seasoning- Yum!! The price per plate was around $15 and did some with cornbread. Overall, we really really liked it. The only suggestion I would have is maybe to increase portion sizes just a little bit - of even just the sides. I was still a little bit hungry and probably would have preferred a little more food. I would say for lunch, the portion was perfect. (I think during non-Covid times, they have free ice cream- this would have been amazing! But due to Covid the soft serve machine was not in use. Hopefully they can bring it back soon!) If you're in the area, and looking for good Smoked food, I would definitely recommend giving Dickey's a try. It's very conveniently located right off of 94 and would also make a good place to stop as you're transitioning through. Enjoy!

Staff was nice and food was served relatively quickly and it was tasty. Free ice cream machine was leaking and I didn't check to see if it actually worked. Doors, both front and back, we open letting a breeze and the bug in as my child said, but I didn't see any personal.

The Brewers tied in Cincinnati. The US men's national team handling Bosnia. Basically every screen in the place was must-watch TV and the bartender -- understandably distracted, perhaps -- decided that was the ideal moment to restock straws and cut fruit. We waited. In the heat. Our server was genuinely good when he materialized, which wasn't as often as we'd have liked. Food: the cheese curds earned their reputation. The Mekts burger was fine -- solid, no complaints. The Reuben rolls, however, arrived looking exactly like what they were: a Sysco product plated with minimal ceremony. Hard pass next time. As for the name -- if you're picturing a dock, pilings, maybe a gull or two -- walk outside and squint hard past the road and the rooftops. Big lake's out there somewhere. Technically. Maybe a 3.2 night in a 4.3 restaurant. I'd go back on a slow Tuesday in October.
