This place is amazing. They have the playground for the kids. They can honestly take down the fence. It's not necessary and they have tons of places for new businesses to come in and lots of space for them. I used to come here as a kid all the time and they had the best stuff here it saddens me to see it in the state it is, but it is a beautiful wonderful building. that is honestly been here as long as I can remember it I grew up going here. The people I love would go here and it is the go to place. I went there recently to get my phone camera from my son's iPhone fixed. It was extremely affordable to get that done and honestly, I'm excited to go back there again when I have more time because I was in a hurry to get back to the Dentist. read more

This place is utterly depressing and hasn't been worth visiting since the early to mid-2000s when I was still in MIDDLE SCHOOL. I've seen cemeteries with more liveliness than this mall, which has become nothing more than an oversized parking lot and a place to walk laps around because why would you actually go shopping here? I get paying for gas is almost as bad as finding blood in your urine these days but you're better off taking a trip to Sun Valley Mall in Concord if you're in East Contra Costa County and want to go to a large shopping mall. I used to love coming to this mall growing up. I would explore so many places in the mall, eat at the Sbarro or Charley's they used to have, grab a pretzel from the Wetzel Pretzels stand, and I even remembered hiding in the racks in various stores (i.e. Macy's, Mervyn's - remember Mervyn's? - and even Sears). Now, this mall is a shell of what it once was. So many stores shut down, very few places to eat, and it is not even worth coming anymore. I haven't even been to this mall ever since they closed down Macy's. Now, I only go to this mall to get my haircut (Ace of Fades) Drive extra further to Concord or Walnut Creek even if you want to do some shopping. Because this mall is DEFINITELY not it. read more

They are open but hours have changed, they are open from 11am-7:00pm Monday-Saturday, I'm not sure about Sunday. Check their online site for daily updates and hour changes. Lots of stores shut down, but still a nice place to walk around. No more Macy's or Victoria's Secret, you'll have to go to Sun valley Mall in Concord. This mall has been in a death spiral for many years. It truly is a shame. Sears is gone now. I noticed that when Macy's announced their remodels, the store in this mall was not a part of it. Macy's is a great store as we all know but there is another great store in this mall...Fallows. They take care of their customers with a smile and have good quality products at phenomenaly low prices. Give them a try this season. I suppose that this mall will finally die. With all the new housing, and older neighborhoods in East Contra Costa County surely they should have a better mall. There were a lot of empty storefronts, very few places I would want to shop, and only few places to eat. And perhaps the worse Sears and Macy's I've ever browsed in. The bathroom is open during mall hours. And the staff have become more friendly and attentive to all issues. I imagine this place was really nice back in the day. I see the remnants of a what must have been a lively, happy, suburban mall but now it's empty. It makes me sad, seeing all the closed shops. Reasons I come Here: - Just cuz of the anchor tenants - Macy's and Sears, but they are a bit disorganized and the sales associates do not seem that enthused. There are few shoppers. This means that I can take my time browsing without any pressure. - Also cuz of Victoria's Secret which was busy when I went but quiet when there is no sale. - The Gym which isn't in the mall but in the same complex I hope this mall doesn't die out. read more

Two stars for two stores I shop at in this mall. I remember the days of Orange Julius's and talking Christmas Trees! Man am I dating myself! Oh I forgot about Bedazzled! I think we put them out of business (inside joke)! This place is turned into garbage. I'm afraid to go after dark. Even during the day is bad. There's not one time that I've been inside Victoria Secrets that haven't been robbed! Today I noticed security. I think police cadets should be able to work as security there! I hate to be negative but there's really nothing positive to say! Very depressing to say the least. On a happier note I found a top at Forever 21 and a good parking spot near the entrance. I recommend coming to the Somersville town me center for all ages exercises the shops can be a bit pricy but you can't beat Dallas also this place is host to the best shoe repair in the business let's say you have your favorite shoes these guys can make them like new they repaired both my hoka one one bondi shoes and I had a previous shoe company near my house so it and one shoe hugged my heel so bad but yeah Somersville is a good place to come and hang out for all ages read more

Sears never paid rent,the Corp owns the land . I hear this question a lot about "was the rent to high ?" Answer is yes, for the rest,but Sears (Macy's, I do believe owned their spot too) owned the land the building was built on from delta fair to Fairview . Sadly shoppers dwindled down and shoplifters increased not helping the bottom line as the company struggled also to stay afloat. I have not been to the mall since nov 2019 as my store closed . This mall was once an interesting place to shop. I remember going here throughout my childhood and shopping at the Gottschalks, Sears and Mervyns. And yes, there used to be a large, beautiful water fountain inside of the mall But now...walking through the mall feels so depressing. Most of the stores are mom & pop shops that leave much to be desired. There's not much of a food selection either. I tried to find somewhere to sit and I was disappointed to find that most of the seats were occupied with people that weren't even shopping...just sitting and talking and taking up space. The few employees look bored out of their minds and they do not even try to provide good customer service. I've been going to this mall ever since I was a kid; when there used to be an arcade next to the mall entrance of Macy's, when there wasn't even a Macy's and it was JC Penny's (then a funiture or whatever store) before rennovations. There are new stores, but it's just an alright place to do some quick clothes shopping. Not really many places to eat other than Sbarro, but there's some places to eat across the street, to the left of Kaiser. Really? It's ghetto? I could never define what ghettoness is, but maybe it's because I've gotten used to the environment =P. I don't feel like I'm in any harm, if that's what you mean. I remember there used to be a card store and a chinese restaraunt at the entrance of the mall. Times have changed. The buffet outside by the new Marshall's and 24 hours is alright, and it's pretty cheap around lunchtime. Anyway, my dad and little brother go here every weekend. Usually it's for my brother to eat Sbarro pizza and go to game stop. I usually check out Hot Topic. There's a kewl picture place where my friends and I have taken pictures for proms and such. My mom & aunties go here also, for clothes shopping and such (for those of you who think it's not safe? lol..). The place seems empty on weekdays (duh) and on weekends its not too crowded. I am going to mainly grade this based on the years it was actually known as County East Mall. Some who may have not been here for too long may not know that it was actually an outdoor mall for some time before they converted it into a closed mall. It was very airy and open and felt like the Willows (before they modernized it and took away the English Phonebooth.) When I was about 8 or so, (which was around 1990) they converted it into a closed mall. Most of the shops were filled up and the opening day, the place was packed. They had Kay Bee Toys, A & W Hot Dogs, Clothestime, B. Dalton Bookstores, and added a new anchor department store called Gottschalks. Over the years, anchor stores have moved out, some new ones have been brought in. At the opening of Macy's (where JCPenney used to be) a few years ago, they decided to revitalize the mall by renaming it to Somersville Town Centre. Unfortunately, the economy has hurt this mall and it has less stores than ever. The closing of two of it's major anchor stores has ultimately made this mall feel like a shadow of it's former self. I still go here, though, just because it's less crowded than Sunvalley and can be walked through pretty quickly. I have a lot of memories dated back here, so sometimes it's just fun to walk around for old time's sake. It may not be as big or as nice as Sunvalley or Stoneridge, but it has it's own qualities. It's not as ghetto as some say. Just park at Macy's - avoid the main entrance (where Sbarro is) that's where the kids seem to hang out the most. read more

This "mall" is weak. Once you make it through the up and coming thug life folks that perch in front of every entrance you find yourself smack dab in the middle of nothing. A bunch of your typical kiosks and no mall would be complete without someone offering to upgrade my phone service or straighten my hair. PASS. The only saving grace this mall has to offer is the new Macy's/MAC counter. This mall has gone downhill over the years ! It is seriously so ghetto, I hate coming in. There's not a lot of decent stores, and hardly any food choices. They've brought in a few different things, like Cinnabon but it didn't last. Stay away whenever there's a shoe release, people are crazy. Fights, yelling and chaos. This mall was my childhood, used to go here all the time and go into the candy store & Macy's etc. This mall has nothing inside, extremely vacant and empty. I don't go towards Antioch very often, but I went in Somersville Towne Center for the first time ever and it was more on the disappointing side. Only one level of shops, and there really aren't that many of them to begin with. Not even a designated food court. The main anchors are Macy's and Sears (Gottschalks must have closed a long time ago). Only nice thing is that it is conveniently located right off California State Route 4 and you can be in and out if you know what you're looking for or need. read more

Ha! This mall was lovingly called the Hallway. I need not explain. The Antioch, or East County/County East, Mall of my adolescent years is long gone. Quite literally, all of the stores I once knew as an integral part of my shopping experience here are gone. Let's have a running tally shall we? Gottschalks. Mervyn's. Sam Goody. The Chinese Restaurant with the bomb ass shrimp plate. The ice cream shop with the huge gum ball machine. A&W. KB Toys. Choice. Styles 4 Less. The arcade!. Etc. Etc Etc. The mall is definitely catering to a much younger crowd. The new stores include Forever 21, Torrid, Hot Topic, Journey, Wet Seal...you get the picture. At least there's a mini Macy's now? I'm pretty sure the only thing that has remained steady for the past 10 years or so is the Orange Julius and the Sears. Wear your bulletproof vest if you venture to this mall... This mall now resembles the Hilltop Mall in Richmond and the stores aren't even half as good. Chances are the store you went to last time will now be out of business or they will be moving to a new location for no reason at all. The stores in this mall carry half the merchandise of the stores in Concord or Pleasnton so just make the trip to one of those malls. The crowd is ghetto and thuggish... not a family friendly atmosphere. I come to this mall only because the MAC counter is located next to the door and I can be in and out in a matter of 10 minutes. read more
