Very sweet owner, and great coffee! The sausage biscuits we had were fresh made and delicious!

How could you not love Blue Bell! The grounds are so pretty with beautiful gardens. The visitors…read morecenter is full of the history of Blue Bell and how it got started. Definitely worth the read. We then walked over to the main building where there is a store and the observation deck. On the observation deck is where we met Eli. We asked 1 question (of course I don't remember which one that was!) and he was a wealth of information. He explained what each of the lines were producing which vats contained the flavors and pointed out where they load the pints and sherbet cups. No cameras are allowed on the deck. It was truly amazing to see the operation in production. Just a note - it closes at 2, so make sure you plan your time around that. Once we left the observation area, we went to the gift shop and ice cream parlor. I nice scoop of your favorite flavor for a dollar?? Wish I had room for more! It was totally delicious. When in Brenham, you must stop at the creamery. I

What a treat it was to visit the main Blue Bell facility!…read moreThey were founded in Brenham in 1907 and have been going strong ever since. You can tour the grounds and observation deck (no cameras on the deck, it's where you view the production process) free of charge. We started in the visitors center that was loaded with historical information and tools from early on. We made our way to the ice cream parlor where it's just $1 for a very generous one-scoop. We each had flavors that were exclusive to the parlor. Take a look at my pics, can you guess the flavors we had? I like Blue Bell ice cream but wow did it taste so much better getting it right there! Of course we checked out the gift shop which had cute stuff but didn't buy anything. Just a short drive from Austin (1.5 hours) and you're in a world of sugary goodness!
