He claimed he would send people back out week after week to fix issues (and collect MORE money) but never did. They were slated to do both my patio and build a pergola, but after the patio was done I had no interest in in letting them build the pergola. And good thing - the eventual replacement I found did fantastic work, at HALF the price of Sam's estimate!! Here are some of the issues; 1. I have a sprinkler head that feeds a drip system. I told him day 1 it was very important NOT to cover it. He said ok, and so crew moved the head over a couple feet... THEN COVERED IT ANYWAY!! Now if there's ever a problem with that head, I'll have to tear up the patio to get to it. His response? "It'll be fine." Seriously!! 2. It's a square space, but the paver stones were laid at a 5-10 degree angle?? Then the edges were cut perfectly straight at the ends, leaving an ugly unnatural finish in a very obvious place. 3. They rebuilt our bad step, but it was already cracked the day he finished. It's not even by the door to be stepped on, why is it broken already? 4. Polysand (the cement-like hardening sand they use to keep it together) was left splattered all over my house and screen doors and windows. I had to scrub the house clean, but the screens are shot. 5. The patio slopes in three or four different directions, but I'll allow the weird Broomfield soil and my original slab take some of the blame for that. After weeks of waiting for any contractor to get back to me in this overwhelmed market, I was thrilled to finally have someone to work with. But I would not recommend their services to a friend after this.

I initially got a bid for tree removal, plus sod and sprinkler for my front and backyard. I couldn't afford all of it, but JR couldn't have been nicer about breaking it up into projects I could afford. When the date arrived, they were on the spot! One of his employees had an emergency, so JR and his brother showed up. They were great: hardworking, conscientious, and communicated in real time about anything I needed to know ahead of time. I very much appreciated that they took some extra time to deal with a difficult cottonwood root system so it wouldn't come back. JR also set up my sprinkler for me and took the time to teach me how to manage it! He followed up by sending me a lawncare visual so I could get the best new yard possible! It's been less than a week, but my yard looks so great! I can't be on it yet, but I couldn't be more pleased and can't wait to save up enough money for Southern Brothers to come back and start their next project! Love these guys!

I have not heard anything back from JR. It's unfortunate - he seems like a good guy, hard-working, etc. - but it's simply unprofessional to not follow through on his commitments or to at least say that he is too busy for the job and close the loop with a customer.

I'm getting the runaround from this company following an incident that occurred on I-25N, about 12…read moremiles out of Fort Collins, on 8/19/20, while I was traveling cross-country. I was driving in the left lane, and a Long's Peak Landscape truck and trailer were in the right lane. In a bumpy construction zone, a rock flew from their vehicle and struck the hood and windshield of my car, causing damage to both. My daughter was in the passenger seat, and she was able to grab some photos quickly, before the truck exited the freeway. One photo clearly shows another loose rock on the trailer. Being in the left lane, I wasn't able to follow the truck off the freeway, but I called the company at my next rest stop. The very kind receptionist assured me they would take care of the damage, and she asked me to send photos and full information, which I did immediately. They asked me to get a repair estimate, which I provided to them after I arrived home in CA. After 2 weeks passed with no response, I reached out again and was told to file a claim with my insurance company, which would then work with their insurance company for a resolution. Three months have now passed. My insurance company has been reaching out repeatedly, and Long's Peak has refused to put them in touch with their insurance so we can resolve this. My insurance company says there's nothing else they can do if Long's Peak won't cooperate. Now I am faced with living with the damage to my 2 year old car OR paying the $1000 deductible to get the damage repaired myself. Long's Peak Landscape was irresponsible in operating a vehicle with loose rocks on it, on public roads. I'm contacting an attorney to see what it will take to get this settled.

He talked me into this "wonderful" spray and I wouldn't have weeds for 2 years. Well guess what? WEEDS I wanted a sprinkler system assessment, he said ok and they would do that and turn on the system for season. I needed some other stuff done as well. I asked that they let me know when they were coming, nothing. They supposedly came and did stuff when I wasn't home. They started up my sprinkler system but I still have not gotten the assessment. I do not recommend this company at all. No follow through and I think they don't do half the stuff they charge for. NEVER AGAIN For some reason it says I"m in San Francisco but I'm not, I'm in Firestone.

Francisco and his crew did more than we ever expected in fixing the drainage problems (no small task) and we LOVE how the backyard looks. I had 3 small concerns when the landscaping was finished, they returned the next week and made the fixes, even after they had been paid in full! Communication was great - everything was. We have no complaints or concerns and fully recommend 5 Star Construction and Landscaping.

So, a few weeks later, I reached out again - no reply. Same thing a few weeks later. It's a shame - seems like they do good work and we would have liked to work with them. Edit: The business replied with totally inaccurate information. I put out a call for weeding. The next day, I got a "quote" of $65/hour so I said it sounded great and would be happy to have them come look at the scope and start work. No reply. About 18 days later, I asked if they were still interested in doing the job. No reply. So if this is how they tell you they've decided not to work with you, it's not an awesome communication method. Hopefully others have better luck connecting with them to get work completed.

The paint on my doorjamb trims was peeling again after my attempt to sand, seal, prime, paint in…read morethe past. TruBlue arrived on time, power sanded, sealed the cracks in the wood, primed the wood trim, painted, and sealed with caulk the base of the trim so that it wouldn't recur. Cleanup from this dusty job was excellent. The second job was cutting away water damaged fiberboard that was used as trim around my garage door which had suffered similar damage. That was replaced with a synthetic material (so that water wouldn't damage it again), primed, sealed at the join between fiberboard and new board, and painted. The seam isn't visible until I'm within a few feet. I'll be using them again for some interior flooring work that wasn't performed to code.
