The best decision that my husband and I made for our wedding was to hire Something Borrowed as our coordination team. We had the pleasure of working with Liz and she was amazing. Followed the advice of all my friends and hired a wedding planner (trust me, guys, it's worth it!) Had a wonderful experience with Sierra and her team, was very grateful to work with her! So basically, my goal was to plan the most stress-free, low maintenance wedding as possible. And let's be honest, every wedding is stressful. Long story short: The day of the wedding, I knew I had NOTHING to worry about. I knew Sierra would make sure everything went smoothly, and would handle anything (without me even knowing) so I could just live in the moment and enjoy our celebration. Would highly recommend if you want to have a stress-free wedding! More things: Above many other things, here are some ways Sierra went ABOVE AND BEYOND what was outlined in her contract. 1) She responded to our emails timely, usually every day. Her services are very personal, and I really valued her dedication and her knowledge of each detail of our wedding. I tried to keep emails to non-urgent stuff, and text and calls for urgent/panic mode (haha). 2) She helped me find my wedding dress and take photos- how cool is that? 3) We were also fortunate enough to be her "guinea pigs" as she was testing out a Go-Pro and a drone to film our rehearsal dinner speeches and our wedding. That turned out to be a HUGE plus because we didn't hire a wedding videographer! 4) She has decorations and other items that she can rent out to you. You know, stuff you only need for your big day. Because who the heck needs an easel? 5) Any time I had difficulty with a vendor, she would step in and lay down the law. 6) She's very tech-savvy. We had a Google drive going of what to do, and another document with our wedding packet where I could put all the info for our wedding so I wouldn't have to explain everything to her the day of. She also helped me make spreadsheets for vendors. 7) She gave me a lot of advice for the easiest way to do things. Helpful wedding tips go a long way! 8) My wedding day, I worried about NOTHING. So many things went wrong- my sister bought the wrong color dress, my dad's speech was interesting to say the least, a couple of our decorations broke, a couple of other small mishaps, but I knew Sierra and her team handled it. I loved that she handled it on our own without bringing up anything to me. She made sure we were fed (apparently no couple gets to eat at their own wedding) and had enough "us" time. She even helped with some difficulties with our parents! We headed straight to our afterparty and home afterwards. I can't say enough amazing things about Sierra and her team, and I highly suggest hiring Something Borrowed as your event coordinator if you're looking for someone thorough and extremely organized in all the ways you're not, and will provide guidance and assistance all the way until the end. My fiancé (now husband!) is in the wedding industry as an entertainer and he and his company recommended her to me. They felt she was incredibly organized, professional and also friendly, and she really is. I chose a partial planning service, and Sierra was with me the whole way providing guidance and expertise. She thought of all the small details I would have forgotten (wine openers, hello! And ICE!) We had a lot of stress the week of the wedding when a family member had a medical emergency, and Sierra was supportive and took over all the correspondence with the vendors for me. The day of my wedding: not only did we run pretty close to on time (how does that even happen??), but the reception area turned out SPECTACULAR, and I'm not the spectacular aesthetic type (I mean this in a good way!). I know I came up with the decor ideas, but I tend to play things fast and loose and give people creative control, and they just added little details using the decor I had and it looked amazing. She sold us on our first meeting as she presented a detailed PowerPoint of her goals to ensure that our Cinderella wedding vision will in fact come to life, and let me tell you, she absolutely made that happen. Our wedding is not the easiest to coordinate. My husband and I created a over the top wedding which included managing a 250 guests, cinderella horse carriage entrance, multiple games which lead to a raffle prizes, 3 projector video clips, 2 rehearsed dance routine, full dessert table, sand and fans ceremony set up, dessert table and party favor reception set up, two huge flower wall and sign in table set up, answering all vendor questions and ensuring service was provided as contracted and helped us create a detailed intinerary for the entire team in the wedding. Liz was by my side the entire time in the rehearsal to ensure that my entire party was prepared and questions were answered on top of helping the entire party throughout the wedding day. They absolutely loved Liz and appreciated how professional, detailed and helpful to all their needs. She fixed any issues that unpredictably came up and eased my worries. For example, since we were behind our schedule, she made sure that we we're able to do everything on our intinerary without stress, she made sure all our special guest who were late was present for the ceremony, she helped with the projector malfunction for our same day edit video, she managed our drunk guests who were coming on stage, she kept me hydrated fed, she had an emergency kit ready for my bridesmaids dress malfunction and scrapes on my foot, she held my dress when I needed to pee (tmi but it's very helpful), she made sure all decores and supplies are returned back to me in my room which contained 10 huge containers, she was the last person at the ceremony to rap up with all the vendors and lastly she made sure my husband and I were safety in our hotel room and check up with in the morning. Overall, we hired Liz 6 months prior the wedding, she helped create a monthly to check list based on our vision, she gave us a website wedding checklist packet to keep our planning organized with vendor contacts and balances due, she followed up with us monthly via email, we ran through any concerns via text, we met up three times prior the wedding to run through ideas and timeline, she took care of all logics and overall stress that arised, she was the lead communicator to all our vendors and overall she made sure my vision came to life. Where to start!? Something Borrowed has this AMAZING WOMAN On the team Named Liz Fiala. She made this whole process soooo memerable for us. Starting from the beginning meetings we had over the phone and then in person she made sure to not over load me (The Bride) with so much information. Liz and Shawna went above and beyond. It's hard to list all of the positives since there were just so many! My fiance (wife now) and I hired Something Borrowed only for their Day of services, but their frequent check-ins and help along the way made us feel as if she was our pseudo Wedding Planner. Liz checked in with us on pretty much a monthly basis, making sure we were on track with their suggested timeline. That said, it wasn't just a token email check-in. She always offered to help in case we were behind on anything. We believe that our wedding day went so smoothly due to their top notch performance. If anything did come up, Liz purposefully avoided coming to us (bride and groom) so that we could remain in our little bubble. I met Sierra through a different avenue but it wasn't until our first meeting that I realized that I needed to hire her right away! From the beginning Sierra was very professional, extremely organized, and always willing to try to help make the wedding exactly how we envisioned. From the start we were given a wedding packet and boy did that help with my own organization and opened my eyes to what needed to be done right away. We did meet a few times leading up to the wedding; however, one of the best parts of hiring Sierra was the monthly emails. The emails were a great check-in, had priority lists, and made me feel at ease. Sierra and her team were incredible. I had no idea of all all of the work that goes into day-of wedding coordinating, but it goes way beyond just the day-of. The prep work and post-wedding work were incredibly detailed and organized, and I cannot begin to describe how helpful the team was on the day of our wedding. This service is a must! She saved us on many occasions on the day of our wedding, and it would not have been as terrific of a wedding experience had Sierra not been there.
