Thus is exactly what we needed to start our vacation. Amazing service, food and atmosphere. We stopped in for a late breakfast this morning. We were super stoked to see some really different takes on breakfast. I mean, when you replace regular bacon with pork belly for a lot of the dishes, you can't go wrong. I went with the Belly egg and cheese and the hubby ordered the Big Boy. Both of us were not disappointed. The pork belly on my sandwich was kissed with maple and it made the whole sandwich come together. And you can't go wrong with perfectly cooked eggs and the coffee bbq on the Big Boy. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area and I'm certain we'll have a repeat visit this week. The french toast and chicken and waffles smelled and looked awesome. As a vegan, I know there aren't many places nearby that can even accommodate me. But they made a very delicious meal for my husband and me out of their potatoes, which were perfectly crisp and seasoned, with bell peppers and onion. We were so satisfied! It was delicious! The non-vegan food here for my son and his family was amazing, my son loved the chicken and waffles. His daughter the waffle. The owners and service are PERFECTION. I have been here several times and have enjoyed my meals every single time. The food is fresh and delicious. Since a majority of the meal is made from scratch, the small wait is entirely worth it. I thoroughly love this place and am happy to have it in Copperas Cove. read more

this is a great place for a quick,hearty meal. The portion sizes are awesome and the people that work there are so friendly and welcoming. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits and the breakfast potatoes. The sausage is fresh ground and is delicious. The biscuits are homemade and very light and buttery. First the server greeted us and was very nice. The food was, I got a full French toast w/bananas & strawberries the wife got the Big Tex food was just great seasoned perfectly and hot. We even played connect 4 while we waited which was very fun if you haven't played in awhile. Really wish we would have found this place sooner. read more

Everything was spot on for the most part. For my taste buds the potatoes were a little to salty. Eggs were done beautifully chicken also portions are huge. I didn't try the pancakes but my nephew liked them. The workers were super wonderful we will be back for sure! read more

I found this place by word of mouth. Great breakfast! I had the bacon, eggs and toast with a side of the unbelievable local blue grits. I could have eaten a bucket of those. Bacon was crisp but not over cooked. Thick. Coffee cup was always full and not waffee (watery coffee). Great meal for a good price. The restaurant had just moved to the shop next door, so there wasn't a lot of ambiance. Very clean though. Service was good, but my personal pet peeve is wait staff rolling into work in tee shirts and short shorts, but that may be a generation thing. I definitely recommend 'Something In Between' for a good meal and will go back and try other dishes. read more

We are active duty military and looking for places to eat today on a Memorial Day. Only place open this early on holiday. Food is all delicious. I ordered the chicken waffle and big Tex. Chicken is all delicious and juicy so we ate everything. The Taste is also very authentic and customer service was on point, not too often and not too long. she just checked on you on the right time to a point that doesn't annoy you). I think I may have come on a very off day. There were a few menu items out of stock. The wait was over an hour for the food to come out and when my meal came out my waffle was not hot. 'Something In Between' is a wonderful restaurant run by veterans. The service is really friendly and quick, and the food is delicious. I had the Banana Pancakes with whipped cream, and the Eggs were amazing, clearly made with love. Big shoutout to the chef! A hidden gem in cove for sure. Immediately after walking in felt so welcome and excited to try their food. They try to make everything in house so that their food is extremely fresh. Our food wasn't prepared until we ordered so everything came out steaming hot. Even the buns for their breakfast sandwich were made that day. Coffee was delicious and complimented the food so well. Beyond reasonable prices for the quality and quantity of food we enjoyed. All around excellent experience and can't wait to come back and try their lunch menu. read more

Folks, highly recommend you give this spot a try. We visited today for lunch and enjoyed the Caprese sandwich and pulled pork sandwich. Both were excellent right down to their fresh baked sourdough and brioche breads, respectively. Coffee was hot and the French fries were perfect. The cafe is in an older shopping strip that is due for a renovation but the space is large and clean with board & card games on a shelf to play if your from-scratch order takes a little long (ours didn't). Kudos to Chef Kinder and the very friendly and attentive staff! read more

Holy moly that was delicious! My girlfriend and I are very critical, so when I say that we loved this place, I mean it was awesome. The staff was incredible, funny, attentive, FRIENDLY. Only giving this 4 stars because of the female worker. I truly wish the male server took our order because he was so nice and was busting his butt doing everything the girl wasn't doing. We walked in and placed a to-go order with the female worker. She let us know it would be a 15-20 minute wait until our food was done. No biggie, we sat at the high tables. As we sat and waited we watched the female worker just sit in the corner and not be attentive to any customer. To the point customers around us were talking about how she wasn't checking on them. One customer was at a table and even went up to the counter to try and pay there because she hadn't gone to them for awhile. The female worker completely ignored her at the counter and it wasn't until the male worker noticed and said something to her did she actually help her. An order that looked like ours sat in the window for about 5 minutes. We weren't the only to-go orders so wasn't 100% sure it was ours. Cooks got slammed and said they needed the window cleared. Again, the male worker did it all. Bagged our food but wasn't sure if it was ours. The male worker asked her if we had placed an order or not. She walks over to us and says "Did you need to place an order?".....I placed my order with you about 30 minutes ago? Our food sat in the bag about another 10 minutes and she wasn't apologetic at all. The male server was so kind and apologetic. Maybe she's a new employee, but she needs some help with being a food server. Y'all need to give the male server a raise because he was doing the work of two picking up her slack. Sucks you have to tip before because I would've rather given the tip to him. read more

This place is such a hidden gem! We came here for breakfast; the servers were super friendly and the biscuits and gravy were BOMB. There is a ton of space to spread out if you want to take friends for a game night or take your laptop and work for a few hours. Don't be fooled by the lack of fanciness, this place is worth trying. This place is a gem in a sea of fast food and chain restaurants. Absolutely, definitely go there and support your local businesses. Best service, super reasonable prices, delicious fresh food. We went to brunch and there is something for everyone. Sweet, salty - they have it all. I had french toast with blueberries and strawberries and everything was fresh with very generous portions. Meet the Business Owner: Kyle K.

Something In Between was founded by Kyle Kinder, who grew up in Copperas Cove and left for New York City for a culinary career in fine dining. Now he's returned to Cove to fulfill his goal of serving quality scratch made food in his hometown. The restaurant focuses on breakfast staples such as chicken & waffles, biscuits & gravy, french toast and many more with emphasis on having most items made in-house. Kyle hopes that his restaurant will be the beginning of his involvement in the community. My cousin had the banana French toast, which looked so good that I came back and ordered French toast for myself the second time. And let me say this: the French toast is made in-house and it is SO freakin' good. Like, the bread itself is made in-house. Soft, thick, lightly sweet -- absolutely my favorite thing here. That alone could get its own fan club. The potatoes are solid too, especially if you get peppers and onions added like my cousin did -- definitely levels it up. The only thing to note is that a lot of dishes don't come with sides automatically. If you want eggs, bacon, etc., you'll have to add them separately. Not a bad thing, just something to know so you're not surprised. Overall, the food is good, the homemade French toast is elite, and I'd go back again for breakfast without hesitation.

The new building is set in a nice little area, across from city hall, next door to the NEW vehicle registration building. We've had some good-ish and even a few really good experiences, but when it's bad, it's REALLY bad. On our first visit after they opened, the menus were filthy. I was handed one with food on it, asked for another--same issue--and a third--also dirty. I got up and left. After waiting a few months, we returned and became regular-ish customers, even recommending the place, though it was never our favorite. I'm writing this after the worst service we've experienced--twice in 8-9 days. Our waiter (name tag "Irving") didn't listen. We both had to repeat drink orders. We each asked for "no rim," he repeated "no rim," then asked if we wanted salt or sugar on the rim. Again, we said "no rim." I asked if the jalapeños were "very fresh"--meaning spicy. He became oddly hostile, repeating "it's fresh, it's fresh!" so aggressively I couldn't even request it be strained. I said never mind and asked for water; my husband did the same. The waiter stared and said, "So you just want WATER?" We said yes. He walked off. We waited while others were served. No water, no order taken. We flagged someone (not actually a waitress, as we later learned) and simply asked for our water, stating we hadn't been served yet. After more waiting, Irving returned, set down water, and said, "So you have a problem with my service and want to talk to the manager?" We were confused. He repeated, "You complained about my service and want to talk to the manger. You want me to get the manager?" That's not what we said--we only asked for water and noted we hadn't ordered yet. He then argued again about the jalapeños. At that point I said, "I NOW want to see the manager--I didn't before, but now? I do!" He kept arguing and claimed, "Everything is recorded here. The conversation is recorded". He even looked up as if pointing to a device. I said, "Really? Then good! Go get the manager! I want this 'recording' replayed! I want to hear i!" I also told him arguing with customers is bad service. He stood there until I repeated, "Go get the manager! I want to hear the recording". No manager ever came. A waitress named Jermina stepped in, recognized us as regulars, and took over. I told her I'd tip her since she was helping us. She was great, understood the jalapeño request immediately, and provided good service. We eventually ordered drinks, ate, and asked for a to-go cup. Later, we realized the to-go drink was missing. We returned, and they claimed they tossed it because "the ice was melting." That didn't make sense, and no refund was offered. Fine--but don't lie. Also, the earlier person we flagged was not waitstaff and apparently told Irving we complained. We've noticed high staff turnover. While that's common in restaurants, this place seems above average. There are a few good servers, but only maybe 3-4, and we never know when they're working. We've had more bad than good experiences. Aside from queso and margaritas, most menu items are mediocre, and breakfast is outright bad. Orders are often wrong. One jalapeño margarita we took home was so spicy it burned my mouth and throat. A manager once offered to remake it--but only if we came back (we live 20 minutes away). Did I mention the manager never came to our table? My advice: don't dine in unless you're willing to risk poor service. There are better Mexican restaurants in Copperas Cove. We gave this place plenty of chances, but the service is consistently lacking--servers don't listen, and some argue with customers. Two stars: one for queso, one for jalapeño margaritas. UPDATE: just saw the response from the owner. We NEVER were rude, it was actually the other way around as we were being treated rudely by "Irving". Then to receive a message from him within yelp? Seriously? He's got the attitude problem. And since you're willing to back bad customer service on your "team" part, we will never eat at, or recommend, your restaurant again. The manager never showed up, and "Irving" did indeed say the conversation was being recorded. I guess he lied to you and stated he never said that. And his responding to me privately here on yelp just goes to prove you've got a person with a major chip on his shoulder. It's all good! Good luck. I pray your business continues to do well as I would never want to wish anything negative on anyone. I do wish "Irving" would learn from this. Or maybe it's that he is a family member and that is why he feels he can behave that way and why you are backing a liar and person with a major attitude? Yup! I'm going with that! They called and let me know they usually make the mini Tacos later but they saw my order online and had the like 160 mini Tacos, chips, salsa, etc. Ready like 30 minutes before the pick up time. Which they called and gave me a heads up they finished. I really appreciate that! Everyone loved the Tacos, I didn't have any leftover!! :)

The enchilada sauce was incredible and flavorful. The service was amazing. The owners were very friendly and the food was very fast. The dining area is small but comfortable. We have no complaints and I'll certainly come back next time I'm in town.

My godson ordered a breakfast sandwich, but just a heads-up: you build it yourself. Not a dealbreaker, but that's why it looks like somebody already went in on it in the photo. My cousin had the banana French toast, which looked so good that I came back and ordered French toast for myself the second time. And let me say this: the French toast is made in-house and it is SO freakin' good. Like, the bread itself is made in-house. Soft, thick, lightly sweet -- absolutely my favorite thing here. That alone could get its own fan club. The potatoes are solid too, especially if you get peppers and onions added like my cousin did -- definitely levels it up. The only thing to note is that a lot of dishes don't come with sides automatically. If you want eggs, bacon, etc., you'll have to add them separately. Not a bad thing, just something to know so you're not surprised. Overall, the food is good, the homemade French toast is elite, and I'd go back again for breakfast without hesitation.
