Best place to get bubble tea on Staten Island! It's only a few blocks down from the New Dorp train station if you live farther away like I do. The customer service is wonderful! They let you sample any flavor of ice cream you want! The atmosphere is nice, it's very spacious, simple and colorful modern decor, and the music in the background is usually the Top 40. The first time, I tried the Taro Milk Tea both Hot and Cold versions. Lemme say that... the Tapioca Pearls... where cooked to PERFECTION! WOW I love them so much I can't have enough! Although I must say, for the milk tea drinks, they could use MUCH less sugar. I know this place is called Something Sweet, but the drink does not need to be super sweet. I still loved the drink. I just don't think its possible to handle all that sweetness. The second time, I got 2 Shredded Ices and 1 Kiwi Black Bubble Tea. My bf got the Strawberry Syrup w/Tapioca and I got the Sweet Condensed Milk w/Tapioca & Aloe Vera. They were so DELICIOUS! I must say that for only $1.99 each (1 topping & 1 syrup) Shredded Ice is WAY BETTER THAN ITALIAN ICES! And I LOVE Italian ices, but they are so expensive these days for a tiny scoop. This place gives you a good amount of shredded ice with syrup and a topping for a cheaper price! What more could you ask for??? Additional toppings are that much more money either! ~ 25/50cents. Came to this location after a nice dinner out. The place is clean and was empty at first. As time went on it got much more crowded although not loud. This was due to the swarm of people coming to play Pokemon Go. There are two Pokestops and a gym nearby. At first I thought that this would be an issue but everyone was quiet (my son was able to stay asleep the whole time!) and respectful which I was very pleased with as well as everyone was buying something so I guess this is good for business. I got the chocolate peanut butter ice cream which was delicious! The server was extremely friendly which made the whole experience that much better! They also provide free wifi, might help you Pokemon Go players! Would definitely return to this location to try some of the other flavors! read more

They have other flavors like green tea, lychee, mango etc. Nice open space with lots of tables. -1 star cause service wasn't that great. I felt uncomfortable asking to try a couple of their unique flavors because the lady that was helping me wasn't that friendly... maybe a little annoyed with me even though there was no one waiting to be helped. What memories this store has for me when it was Sedutto's. It changed hands a few times over the years but now it is an Asian style ice cream and Bubble Tea shop. It was a friends birthday so we came here to try the Rolled Ice Cream. They have 6 different combos and we both chose the Nutella. It's made of sweet cream, pocky, Nutella and one of those Cookie sticks. Now fair warning I don't like ice cream. I know what kind of good American am I. But this was delicious. That was the good butttt...... Now the not good, the parking, the length of time it takes to make each individual order of Rolled ice and the price $7.80???????? For 1. As a self-proclaimed expert on bubble tea, and as a Taiwanese American, this place is average. The tapioca is a bit on the squishy side, with not enough chewiness. Perhaps we came on an off day. They need to be a bit more al dente. The fruit teas themselves are extremely sweet - maybe a bit too sweet. Let's say about one full standard deviation sweeter than average. However, as the best bubble tea I've tried on the island so far, we will be back. Hopefully I'll be able to update my review with better news as I had really high hopes for this place! Came here with a craving for something sweet...not so subtle, right? Anyway, Jenn and I had milkshakes which were great, along with a delicious brownie and an okay cookie. This is a review of the bubble tea only. I didn't try the shaved iced, though it looked yummy. Cute little shop that specializes in frozen desserts. I had the Almond Bubble Tea and it was delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness without overloading it. My friend had the Red Bean and unfortunately it was not good. I've yet to find a good Red Bean in NYC, so I'm not holding it against this place. But I tried hers and it tasted like grass. I'd stick with the traditional flavors like Taro or Almond here. The best thing about this place is that they have asian desserts. I no longer have to go to brooklyn to go get asian flavored ice cream or shredded ices. However their bubble tea on the other hand, being that I am asian, and I KNOW what good bubble tea tastes like - this is reall mediocre (did i spell that right?). Let me start by saying I didn't have the bubble tea. I think it's important to note as most of the higher-starred reviews do mention the tea. I just can't bring myself to drink that stuff. We came in after dining at a restaurant on New Dorp Lane, excited for homemade ice cream. The place was pretty quiet and the staff person behind the counter quickly asked us if we were ready. We barely had a chance to look at all the flavors. Then she asked again. If she appeared as though she was going to follow up with questions about what types of flavors we were seeking or information about what they had available, maybe I could see it, but the demeanor was very nonchalant and uninformative. I wouldn't say she was impatient with us, just mindlessly asking us if we were ready. We tried the chocolate peanut butter ice cream which had more of an "ices" consistency. It was good enough but nothing for which I would come back. We also tried the salted caramel gelato which was extremely, extremely sweet. I would say that's to be expected of this type of flavor, but it was not to my tastes. For those with a sweeter tooth, this flavor might have total appeal. Overall, just a mediocre experience. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but if I was with a friend who wanted to try it, I'd give it another shot (which could possibly be an opportunity for me to bump up my rating). read more

I wish I could give this zero stars. I went to the store and I wasn't gonna write a review but then I saw a sign that said to "leave a sweet messages". Let me tell you I have nothing sweet to say. I bought 3 drinks for almost $20. One tasted like nail polish remover. Definitely radio active. They gave me honey dew instead of Nutella and when I confronted them about it. Probably the only ice cream shop on the island I know that makes Asian flavors! That in itself makes it worth the trip. The ice creams here are all pretty good but some are better than others. The taro is AMAZING! It tastes just like how it would in bubble tea. I definitely recommend. Some other flavors I enjoyed were milk tea, hazelnut (which kind of tastes like a tangier milk tea), and the mint chocolate chip. The flavors I would say I've had better elsewhere are the lychee, green tea, and sesame. Overall, this shop has a great atmosphere and is a very cute spot to hang out with friends . I busted in half an hour before closing on a weekday and there were still a lot of high schoolers hanging out in there so I imagine it is very busy in the daytime. Cute little dessert shop in New Dorp! Great place to go for ice cream after a dinner date. Adorable cakes for special occasions as well. To start off with my favorite: I love the diverse selection of housemade icecreams! Every flavor is creamy but not overly rich, sweet but just enough. I especially love the "exotic" flavors that can only typically be found in a Chinatown ice cream shop. Green tea and taro are my standbys, and coconut, mango and peach are yummy options as well. But the bubble tea is far too sweet, for my taste. Every flavor that I've tried, from green tea to taro to regular milk tea, is cloying after a few sips. Sad, because the bubbles are a nice chewy texture, and I was really looking forward to enjoying a bubble tea spot outside of Chinatown/Brooklyn. Always very clean & has an adorable, welcoming atmosphere. They have a very wide variety of flavors in both their bubble teas & ice cream. They allow you to combine 2 flavors in bubble tea which most places don't do & are always working hard to expand their menu.
