Staff recently have been really nice. Wish they put back breakfast service. We bought the Dubai chocolate cake. By far DELICIOUS a must try!! Not sweet or super rich.. really a perfect dessert

Coffee's pretty good but the service is even better. Love that it's connected to the cookie jar so you can enjoy the ambiance of both unique places while sharing desserts & coffees .. great date spot!

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this bakery. I ordered a custom cake and cupcakes on Sunday, paid $135, and everything went smoothly -- so I placed the exact same order again on Monday (the only difference was the name on the cake). When my friend went to pick up the order on Wednesday, the staff told her there were no cupcakes with the order and that the receipt didn't show them, even though I was charged the same amount both times. On top of that, the name on the cake was placed crooked, which made it look careless and unprofessional. I was met with confusion, poor communication, and zero accountability. To make matters worse, the cashier was rude and tried to blame me, claiming the issue was because the cake wasn't picked up at 1 p.m.--even though the receipt clearly says "pick up after 1 p.m.". The whole situation was so disappointing, and the kids were sad there were no cupcakes to go with the cake. In the end, there was no real resolution, just a $26 refund -- which doesn't make up for the mistake or the frustration. For the price I put in, I expected much better quality, service, and professionalism. I won't be ordering from this bakery again.

Good: donuts and majority of the cakes Bad: customer services. There is a lot of young workers who has a lot of hostile energies and including their speciality of rolling their eyes. Totally get it , been one and was one. But seriously - adults? Team leader: floor manager- where are you? The lines are confusing as there is two counters where it can be misleading of where to place the order, one near the cakes and a main counter of where you pay. Long story short, there is a lot of items and sorry if we need a little extra time to figure out what we want. There is no need to roll your eyes afterward and talk among each other like we are the problem.

Took me a very long time to get here, and the fact it's Sunday didn't help me either . Even tho this beautiful cafe is in the island it literally took me almost 2 hours on public transport to get here. If I was driving that would be a different story ! If I will be back here again & again ? I would have if I was driving ! Feeling sad tho.. Lovee the decor . Customer service was great; while I was deciding what to order on line, 3 people already asked me if I was being helped ! That's very rare this days ! Much appreciated ! Lots of options to choose from . I ordered coffee, pistachio & mocha macarons & blueberry turnover. Didn't like the pistachio macaroon tho. I normally love pistachio! For 3$ a piece the size was huge then other places , so I appreciate that . They have so many delicious sweet stuff that I do not wanna leave now ! But before I start testing everything & gain 10 lb sitting right here I decided that it's time to leave. Btw they have enough space to get a cup of coffee & chill out. It's not like some other coffee places where you feel like can't even breathe! If you live near by definitely a Cafe you gotta give a try , you will love it..! One more thing I have to mention that this cafe doesn't have much of seating but they have made a door to the other place called 'Cookie Jar' & both places uses that area for seating . Maybe owner is the same , didn't get a chance to ask . If it's a different owner then I have to appreciate this bonding , love & respect . I will try to post a separate review for that place just to be fair !

A piece of crap cake that's supposed to be an apple crumb but turned out to be apple scum still shaking my head little apple cubes with gel

Went there yesterday 11/26/2025 the day before Thanksgiving and purchased an apple crumb pie for friends giving dinner I had and we got to the dessert we put pieces of the cake that ppl wanted in the oven to heat up the cake and when it came out it looked disgusting the cake looked like someone threw water on it, it looked like a Soupy mess and also forgot to mention they put confectioners sugar on top of an apple crumb pie who does that I've never seen that done ever in all my years of buying pies unless you ask for it and it tasted like stevia sugar which the ppl stated tasted horrible they also said their were no apples to bite into only little cubes of apples. SIMPLY DISAPPOINTING. Thanksgiving is all about the Apple pie. So I called today on Thanksgiving and a girl answered and I told her what happened and thinking that she would do the right thing and make it right seeing as today is Thanksgiving she tells me that their return policy is no returns . I was so disgusted and disheartened if something doesn't tasty right the company or store should stand by their product and make it right.. I give piece a Cake 2 thumbs down for their disgusting way of handling this situation on Thanksgiving day shame on them .

a gem in Staten Island. Full of character yet cozy and makes for a great spot to have your morning coffee or midday meal. I tried the green juice - came out really fast & great!

Really adorable, semi-kitschy bakery that makes top-notch apple ring, scones, and ricotta cheesecakes. Deviating from these greats and getting the pesto-egg sandwich and some cookies proved a tad underwhelming. The brioche wasn't very flavorful and the pesto was minimal, surprisingly dry. Get the above pastries and you'll walk out so happy you did!

    Vanilla Custard Cream Puff
    Amanda W.

Such an amazing pastry place. I also got their cake slices. Very good. The vanilla custard cream puff is just amazing. So much custard inside of this thing, so dense to hold it got some weight! so if you're not a fan of custard dont get this. I also got their cheesecake and red velvet slice, the cheesecake is dense and really good too. I'm excited about the red velvet I haven't ate it yet.

    Whole cakes and sliced cakes

Cake was dense, delicious, and decently priced. Didn't quite hit the spot for me but I prefer lighter cakes. Staff were helpful at narrowing choices if you are overwhelmed. Seating available through a connecting doorway. Chill vibes.

I ordered the burger, and honestly, I'm still thinking about it. It was cooked perfectly, incredibly juicy, and served on a soft, pillowy bun that brought everything together. The bistro itself is very nicely lit. I almost felt like I was in a movie. I had the Turkish eggs and a side of Bourbon glazed bacon. The chili-drizzled poached eggs sat on a bed of yogurt nestled against triangles of thin flatbread. Very hearty and filling for someone who was on their feet all day. The bacon was such a treat. I was afraid they would be soggy from the glaze or a little too sweet but it was the absolute perfect balance of both. My friend tried out the chicken and waffles and I was almost jealous that I hadn't ordered that. After being given a piece to try, I can confidently say that the Belgian waffle had the nicest crispy exterior and a beautifully fluffy inside. The chicken was such a wonderful savory pairing to the not too sweet waffle. The iced coffee was a nice side pairing. The pumpkin spice flavor was the perfect amount of sweet without being overpowering. I will be returning soon!

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I ordered the market salad with mixed greens, honeycrisp apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. Sarge's ended up being the perfect alternative, just a quick five-minute walk from our hotel. We arrived around 5:00 pm on a Sunday and were seated right away, which already felt like a win. The meal started with coleslaw and both a half sour and full sour pickle--such a classic deli touch, and a great way to kick things off. I ordered the half sandwich with matzah ball soup, and the portion sizes were no joke. The soup alone could have been a full meal: a huge bowl with an equally massive matzah ball. The broth was warm and soothing, and the matzah ball was incredibly light with a perfect texture. The half pastrami on rye was just as impressive. Even "half" was stacked high with flavorful, tender pastrami. Adding a bit of mustard from the table brought everything together--it was simple, classic, and exactly what I was hoping for. Not only was it one of the more reasonably priced meals of the trip, but it was also genuinely satisfying.
