First off, if I could give Chef Vee and her assistant Natalie 10 stars, I would! My fiance had some girlfriends in town for her Bachelorette weekend and they really wanted to do something special. They were hoping to find a private chef in Las Vegas to cook them an infused dinner. Long story short, Chef Vee responded almost immediately and we got to planning the dinner, with only 8 days advance notice! Not only were she and Natalie the coolest, Chef Vee tailored everything on the menu towards what we were looking for (and some we didn't know we were looking for...). My fiance and I are in love with Peruvian cuisine, especially seafood, and once we learned that was Chef Vee's specialty, we were beyond excited to try her infused take on some classic dishes. She and her assistant arrived on time, were wearing gloves and a mask, and got right to cooking while entertaining us with stories and just hanging out. The food was outstanding; it felt like we were taken right back to Peru, and the infusions put us in a very chill state of mind. They hung out with us after dinner for a bit and once they departed, our kitchen was spotless and our fridge had some leftovers that were gone the next day very, very quickly. I contacted Somethin's Cooking because I was planning a special date night with my boyfriend. It was just the two of us for dinner, and Chef Vee and Chef Keith took very good care of us. Chef Vee responded right away when I asked for a quote and was professional and friendly every step of the way. Chef Keith prepared a fantastic dinner, was easy to get along with, and super professional. He got here and I didn't have to worry about a thing. It was exactly what we needed, a low-key, fancy date night at home. Chef Keith went with the flow, and brought out dishes as we lounged around getting massages, making cocktails and playing board games. When he left, the kitchen was as clean as when he started. The food was fantastic- delicious and beautifully presented. Melon & prosciutto skewers, steak crostini, warm veggie and burrata salad, sous vide jerk chicken and coconut saffron rice, red velvet chocolate truffles-- some with gold flakes on top... Amazing experience! We are from out of town and contracted SC to cater our company offsite event for breakfast, lunch & dinner. We were incredibly specific regarding what ingredients could of could not be used to avoid allergies, as well as cater to our strict eaters in our company. SC not only made AMAZING healthy food for every meal - but they were extremely enjoyable to be around. We saw them from 5am to 9pm every night and they never appeared tired or overworked, they always had a smile on and were extremely personable and gracious to our whole team. I researched different caterers in the area, and Chef Vee responded right away with immediate compassion for the project, as well as an array of detailed information and options! I requested a quote to have food catered for approximately 50 people. Chef Vee answered within 10 minutes and was very informative and professional. After getting a few more quotes, I decided to go with Chef Vee. I have to tell you, she is a consummate professional, who takes pride in her craft. She went above and beyond for my event. I told her that we really didn't need anyone to stay throughout the event, but she stayed and made sure everything ran smoothly. Her food was amazing!!!! So . . . I'm really not sure how to describe Chef Vee's AWESOMENESS in words! I'm afraid I won't do her justice, but I will give it a shot! Back in February, I was starting to plan my December 30th wedding from 2,000 miles away. So many caterers responded to my request, but Chef Vee stood out before I even saw her menu or pricing. It wasn't just her quick response and her professionalism, but she has incredible spunk and enthusiasm, and I could tell from her first email that she truly loves what she does. I pretty much hired her right away, and we began communicating regularly as if we'd known each other forever! Over the months, I changed my mind several times about the details, but she rolled with the punches and never let me see her sweat! In the end, she catered a pre-wedding breakfast, our beautiful wedding, and a post-wedding brunch. She and her staff prepared everything in the kitchen at our rented house, and when the 3 days were over I couldn't believe they had to leave! Chef Vee, Chef Malcolm, Vanessa, and the rest of the crew went above and beyond! They helped set up (Vanessa ties a beautiful bow!), they ran to the store when I wasn't prepared, they came through with coolers when the rental company let me down, and they even put out a pool fire!
