Luckily we got a table and our server was really friendly. The menu is made up of Peruvian and Colombian specialties. I'm not super familiar with these foods so we ordered the bandeja paisa which seemed to be a sampler platter of sorts, and an order of empanadas. The food came out and looked delicious! I loved the empanadas - they were smaller than I was expecting but super fresh and tasty, with a nice texture (crispy outside, soft inside). I really liked the sauces that they came with. The bandeja paisa was very interesting. It was a plate with steak, chorizo, crackling, plantain, rice and beans, avocado, and egg. The steak was probably my favorite part - it was a very thin cut of meat but well seasoned and tasty. The beans were also delicious. Nate really liked the chorizo but I thought it was a little dry, and the crackling was very crispy but a bit tough. Overall I'm glad we tried this spot and would like to have more of their Peruvian dishes next time.

We started with some fried sweet plantains which were served with cheese, Honduran sour cream (more like crema), and refried beans. We loved them, nice and hot and fun to try with the various additions. I ordered the chicken San Pedro, which was fried chicken with plantains, cabbage, onions, Pico, and plenty of tasty sauce. The sauce on it was so good and almost hard to describe- tangy and somewhat sweet. The chicken was cooked well and I really liked the plantains, I of course don't eat a lot of those. My husband ordered the empanadas (pastelitos) and he was in the clean plate club. We also got a horchata and Jamaica. They also serve breakfast all day which I'm sure we will come back for. May be worth noting that this isn't your typical Mexican or tex-mex fare, for people who don't know what Honduran cuisine is. It may be slightly outside of someone's comfort zone- but that's not a problem, just a heads up if you go with someone picky or expecting Mexican food specifically. The staff at the AC Hotel is incredibly professional, welcoming, and authentically kind. Our service was great while we were there. I love the varied cozy seating at this bar! We chose a high top at one of the large windows, which was great for people watching. They keep them open during warmer weather so we heard a lot of the hustle and bustle of downtown. We started with some recommended drinks from our bartender -- I ordered the pina colada milk punch on draft, and my boyfriend got the skeleton key. The pina colada milk punch was really refreshing! It's made with coconut water instead of coconut cream you find in a typical pina colada, and it has a little bubbliness to it while still being tropical. I really liked it and would definitely order it again. The skeleton key was really nice, too! It was a ginger beer drink that was also refreshing. The drinks were delicious but didn't taste too much like alcohol - could be a good thing or a bad thing! For my to-go drink, I got an aperol spritz, which was delicious! For food, we got the albondigas and manchego croquettes to share. The croquettes were deliciously creamy melted cheese and perfectly fried! The aioli dipping sauce was really tasty but not needed with the richness of the croquette. The croquettes came three to an order, so be aware of that if you're planning on sharing. They were a large size, so one or two would definitely fill me up for a meal. They weren't dry and the cheese was melty and delicious. They came with a slaw that was fine, just not a lot of flavor. I did like pouring the red salsa over them which gave it a little kick. The pork, beans, and cheese pupusa (pupusa revuelta) was my favorite. I loved the beans - they were flavorful and creamy. They have indoor seating and takeout available. I'll definitely be trying more of their food in the future. They have all kinds of pupusas, including veggie options, larger entrees, tacos, burritos, gorditas, quesadillas, and more.
