I dove into their Nachos Carbon, and let me tell you, those tender, flavorful chicken and steak bites were living their best life on a bed of crispy chips. Every bite was a fiesta in my mouth. Then came the Strawberry Piña Colada Margarita... and wow. Just WOW. Best one I've had in ages: smooth, sweet, and dangerously easy to sip. The vibe? Colorful and fun. The staff? Absolute rock stars - friendly, fast, and always making sure I had everything I needed. I left with a full belly, a happy heart, and plans to come back ASAP. We visited El Tapatio for lunch last week. There are two lunch specials each day for eight dollars. The service was exceptional and Phillipe was very attentive. Our food was rather bland with no seasoning of the meat. The portions are generous, and you can season with their hot sauce. We were surprised to get our bill and the foundation drink was 3.99! Half of the price of the lunch! The highlight was the fresh made salsa. It was so good I purchased some to take home! read more

Read about this place on Nextdoor and wanted to try it. It's out of my way but decided to try it as I was driving back through Standale. Got there at 3:30 so was not surprised that I was the only guest between lunch & dinner hours. Glad I stopped. Food was very good though mild in flavors. The server brought me warm chips & salsa. Very good! I got the nachos supreme and had plenty to bring home. I got my husband a number 13 to go. When I got home he sampled everything warm and especially liked the enchilada & chili relleno. He found the burrito a bit too salty for his taste. The restaurant was well lit, clean and inviting. It has multiple rooms & the painted murals on the walls are marvelous! Loved the server Mario. Drove 4hrs to take my son out for a birthday lunch, said he wanted Mexican. Found El Tapatio on Yelp and thought It'd be worth checking out. Was greeted by a pleasant, friendly staff. Dinning room was clean, modern and inviting. Chips & salsa arrived with our drinks, salsa wasn't as chunky as I typically like but otherwise delicious. This place opened in the home of the former de Hop brewing and we were excited to check them out. After a few visits, I can say that it's fine. It's not our favorite but it's nothing we avoid. I like that they have an extensive à la cart menu. Our last visit my husband got the chimichanga dinner and I got one tamale and one chile relleno. The flavors were a little underwhelming, but not bad by any means. It's a great place to hang out for beers chips and queso, and the staff is very kind and attentive. read more

It's just an overpriced Mexican bar and grill. The food does not stand up to the price. The atmosphere was nice and the waiter great, but the burrito was terrible. I ordered the dry burrito and got a big flower to tortilla with only meat. When I asked for lettuce, tomato, onion, and cilantro and sour cream on my burrito. First visit here since the location became El Tapatio. Off the bat, the menu online looked really good so I was excited. We did not have a reservation but gambled to get a table for 4 at 530PM on a Tuesday. We were able to get a table, and I don't believe there was ever a wait, but it was definitely an almost full house. I was seated quickly and warm chips and salsa were brought over very quickly. Loved the chips - tasted fresh with a little salt. The salsa is the standard salsa that I love - watery but fresh chunks of veggies and cilantro! The guac is a huge order that tastes very fresh and looks fresh, too. Our server was very prompt and on top of everything. He brought refills without asking and made sure we always had a full cup. I was absolutely impressed with how fast the food comes out and it comes out HOT. The actual temp of the food was impressively hot. I ordered the chipotle shrimp per the waiters recommendation and it was SO good. Everyone at the table tried it. Everyone else seemed to really enjoy their food, as well. Things to note - the parking lot has a decent amount of parking but it is super narrow and if you drive a larger vehicle, it's going to be tight getting in and out of a spot for you. You can park across the street, I believe. The restaurant is not huge, and I did not see any really large tables, so best to call for larger groups - probably 6+. The previous restaurants had patio seating, unsure if they will or not. Service was polite and friendly, restaurant has bright lighting, and I'd say the noise level is Moderate to High depending on the amount of people. Absolutely will be back! read more

We were seated pretty quickly and the restaurant was not busy on an afternoon during the week for a lunch visit. Being pretty hungry, we ordered the Nachos Supreme for us to share at the table. Then, placed drink orders. All of us asked for either iced tea or water and the server seemed upset that we weren't a table of alcohol drinkers (sorry, not day drinking!) The nachos were just okay, and had a strange mix of toppings with sautéed veggies. Ordered our lunch entrees. We should have learned our lesson right from the start with the appetizer. Lunch was not good at all. When I dine out at a Mexican restaurant, I usually order fajitas since this seems to be a benchmark for me on both quality and taste. This place failed miserably on both. Horrible meat that looked like it had been chewed up and spit out. Disgusting. Others at the table ordered the shrimp tacos and taco salad. Both were small portions, with wilted lettuce garnish and a small scoop of guacamole. Not at all worth another visit. This place won't last. Far too many authentic options on the West Side that blow this place away. read more

Rating just on food flavor is why I gave it a 4. I think most people would consider it a 4, but to me I'd rank food flavor a 3. Just good enough, standard tex mex flavor. I ordered fajitas and the name of two of them are El tapitio fajita and have a little grammatical difference. I was given the wrong order, I ordered one with chorizo. They quickly got me the right one. But there was no chorizo on it, I found a few crumbs but that was it. Really disappointing. The sides they gave with it gave me about 1 tablespoon of Guacamole and 2 tablespoons of sour cream. Completely not enough. I'm not the type to complain so I just went with not enough. Fast service food was out fast. Overall I rank it a 2.5 and won't return, Id only give a rating on what I think the food flavor deserves to most people. read more

The staff was very friendly and it was seconds after we sat down we were served chips and salsa. Chips need salt and salsa was average. I ordered guacamole and that too was average. I ordered pollo tapatio and it was delicious. No shortage of chicken or shrimp and it was full of flavor! I would definitely return. I could only eat about three bites, complained to the waiter he took the food away and still charged me for the whole meal. My recommendation would be do not order the nacho supreme from what I could see everyone seemed to like their entre I just ordered the wrong one.
