The restaurant was clean and well lit and the service was great (admittedly we were the only people there for most of our dinner). We had the shrimp tacos and the alambre. Overall the meal was enjoyable, so why the three stars? It felt like everything had an upcharge. Chips - one bowl otherwise $1.99 Salsa - one bowl otherwise $1.99 Shrimp tacos come plain, want onions and cilantro - 0.79 for each one added on (total of add'l $1.58) Tacos - Want to add on the quac, sour cream, lettuce and pico - also an add'l upcharge Horchata was $6.50 and 90% ice I've never experienced this at other Mexican restaurants I have gone to and since their food wasn't a stand out, there is no reason to go for hidden extras again. read more

Excited to have such a great lunch option so close to our office! I have been in 3 times to have lunch, and each time has been consistently fast, hot, and good! The renovation of this spot is very nice - very open & bright. The have a bar that has a large tequila selection. Their menu has all the classics but some more authentic and unique items, as well. I love the lunch selections and they do have breakfast items, as well. The chips and salsa are really good! I have enjoyed everything I have had, too. Service is always spot on and fast. Great option for lunch as you will be in and out quickly. read more

Solid 5-star mexican restaurant. Went with the husband and we got the shredded chicken enchilada dinner and steak burrito. The first basket of chips & salsa are complimentary. Salsa was light & fresh with just the right amount of spice. Loved the creamy refried beans and the rice was well seasoned. Burrito was flavorful and steak was tender. The shredded chicken enchilada were fantastic. Honestly, one of the better m divan restaurants we've eaten at. Our server as super friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They didn't have a lot of customers at 8pm on a Friday night, which was weird because the food and service were excellent. Highly recommend checking them out. read more

Best New Mexican breakfast I have had in a long time. I ordered the Aztec scramble with 2 free sides of hot Sause and house sauce. I did not realize this place serves breakfast! The omelette scramble came to the table fast and was very hot. The had tasted like it was grilled. It was very good. The service is great too. I had 2 people waiting on my table. We were seated immediately upon arrival. We were greeted by a waitress who took our drink order and brought us chips and salsa. Drinks were served promptly. She took our order and brought us guacamole and queso for our chips. They were both excellent. The girls had steak and chicken fajitas. But all steak no chicken. They were content with that and didn't mention it to the waitress. The guys had the burrito with ground beef and carne asata. It was great. Since the girls didn't like refried beans she brought black beans which were great. She also brought rice and salad. The restaurant was immaculate. Clean as a whistle. This was our 3rd time eating at el Aztecas. Service is great! Hostess greeted us and seated us immediately. We had chips/salsa and guacamole and one of the best margaritas ever! The Guacamole was fresh and flavorful. Not spicy at all. We then split the chimmichunga dinner so we could have dessert as we have had the flan before of a previous visit and it was delicious very smooth! The decor in the restaurant is typical decor for a Mexican restaurant most things being authentic we believe. Clean and servers were top notch. We liked the wording on their menu regarding using CC rather than cash...or vice versa. "You will receive a 3% discount for using cash rather than making it sound like a punishment for using a CC, in other places the wording is, "You will be charged a 3% fee for using a CC to offset our fees from the bank." Everyone working there was so happy, kind, and respectful. Our new go to for Mexican food! Also the quesso was delicious on our chimichanga. We always have a great affordable meal here. Service is attentive and fast. Never have to wait for seating, as they have plenty of it. TVs are on to the game, but not loud and detracting from a meal. No pictures because we scarfed this food down SO fast, but it was so yummy! We did a take out order and it was ready within 25 minutes. We had the Queso Chaffo, three tacos, a taco salad, and two frozen margaritas. Really liked that they wait until you arrive to get the margaritas all set so they stay frozen, they were delicious and GIANT. The queso chaffo was my fave, I thought the mix of melted cheese and a more solid cheese base at the bottom was really interesting and it gave it a great texture on the chips.
