Tom came out to our house in Desert Hot springs for measurements. It went fine and then my husband told me we have to go to their office to get a quote because we need to pick the cabinet color. We drove 20min to their office only spend 30 seconds with him for him to show us the quote on the paper and tell us they are not available till next year. Umm. Everything could have done over emails. I simply just cannot believe we still have people like him to waste other people's time. He didn't not even ask us what kind cabinet we want at the store. Just said "feel free to look around". The quote was not competing and obviously we will not go with him because his business etiquette. I usually don't wire a review but when it comes inefficiency, I can't stand it. Everyone is busy, respect other people's time. I would recommend other cabinet company who bring the samples with them so it's much faster and efficient. read more

We had Son remodel our kitchen last fall, after waiting about 5 months for their availability. Our old kitchen was very functional so we wanted to make a few changes and re-face the cabinets. We worked with the designer Jay who was very helpful in reworking the kitchen. We took out a cabinet above the sink which was in the way to open up the space. We also took out a cabinet/microwave above the range to install a new hood. We took out one huge corner cabinet and Son made a new 24" cabinet for the space, which was the only new cabinet involved. The Son crew came and quickly prepared the old kitchen for refacing, then the reface guys came in and did their work in a few days. As with any jobs like this, there were a few hiccups along the way, but John the project manager was on top of things and resolved them to our satisfaction. A couple of the new doors had issues and they were replaced, no problem. Overall we're happy with the final result. read more

Awful experience. don't believe it when they tell you work is done by their team.... it is subbed out to any available company. First the WRONG countertop was installed. Then it wasn't leveled. Then it wasn't properly attached. Then the cooktop stove opening was cut too large. Then the tile guy chipped and scratched the hand-made tile. The $100/bucket special grout looks awful, uneven application throughout. And did I mention that the professional design included boxing in a 3x3' empty (now unusable) space? I could go on and on, but this is just off the top of my head. Go elsewhere. read more

This company has the worst costumer service from the designer who retired as soon as I signed up. The project manager also left the company during my project. The quality of the cabinet doors were installed so they didn't line up. The wall tile installation was lengthy and was impossible to communicate with the installer. The quartz's has a chip. The instruction of the shower fixtures don't allow for the water to get hot. The glass door on the shower took three tries before it was the right sizes and it has a 3/16 inch gap and is not flush. I signed a contract and paid it in full and they want me to pay $2400 more and have not installed my soaker tube. It cost me another $1000 dollar to finish the project. read more

Called company after waiting for the no show, and was told the person was just leaving the shop. No call or explanation, nothing. Poor business practice for sure. read more

My family and friends have used Son Cabinetry & Design several times and are always pleased with the products and service!

If they tell you the job will be done in a certain timeframe triple it. If they tell you a time they will be there add at least an hour. If you call you may even be told they won't be there today they are stuck on a big job. They don't value the customer. Way too many problems with this company. We used Son to rebuild our entertainment center. We are super pleased with craftsmanship and customer service. We had to do a major shelf adjustment after it was built. The dimensions did not look right to us. Matt took whole thing back to shop and redid it overnight. When they put it back in and finished we love the end product. All our guests have remarked how beautiful it is. They came up with a great lighting application that shows off some of our art and does not bother us watching TV. read more

The installer's sense of esthetics and appearance was not the best. We had to have them come back to remedy some of that but not complete pleased then. Matt sneered at us for complaining and was mad because we held back $500 on final payment. A component that was included in the contract and we talked about often was not done yet. Now a year later, we called because of a crack in the countertop. The lady said she would check the schedule and call me back in 15 minutes. Now 3 work days later we still have not received a call. Working with Son Cabinetry on my kitchen has been a fantastic experience. I previously worked for a high end cabinetry company in the Bay Area so my expectations are quite high. I was very specific on some unusual custom details such as flush routed tab pulls, floating shelves, recessed lighting, specific counter profiles, etc, and Son's 100% delivered. I worked with a skilled designer at Son's who knew to ask all the right questions, make recommendations; was extremely detail oriented and ensured that my kitchen was delivered correctly. The quality of my cabinetry is superb, beautifully grain-matched walnut. Tom installed my kitchen and is the type of installer who takes personal pride in his craftsmanship. -No corners were ever cut, and the details of my kitchen are sharp. I truly couldn't be happier with the finished product. The outcome is a high-end custom kitchen when in fact the cost, including counter tops was quite reasonable. Matt managed this project from the start. I appreciate a owner of a company who is as personally involved in all his projects as Matt is. His communication with me throughout the job was second to none. He always kept me in the loop of the daily process. He provided me with contractors who all did fantastic electrical, plumbing and drywall work preparing for the cabinetry install. The cost that Matt originally quoted, was exactly what I paid and there were never any up-charges or other costly surprises. Having a new kitchen installed may be one of the more disruptive and stressful projects that you can do to your home especially if you live in the home during the project, but it is far less painful when you work with a group who personally take pride in their workmanship and work tirelessly to limit the disruption. I had contact with the company back in January in 2022 when Tom came to my home and gave me an estimate for new cabinet doors, new drawers or fronts, and replacing the counter. As it was expensive to replace the countertop I decided to stay with the granite I already had even though it was an older pattern. it was then challenging to pick colors as choice for cabinet doors was limited. i had gone to store several times and without anyone telling me, Tom left and I was assigned someone new. It turned out that the front of drawers could not be replaced and I would need to purchase all new drawers. I had been told at beginning the work could not be done until June due to supply issues which I understood due to Covid, but I decided to go elsewhere when the 25% deposit that Tom had indicated became 75%. I ended up going with a small kitchen contractor who provided new lacquered wood doors and drawers. I was able to have any color I wanted. he was able to do the job within 2 weeks and I love my new kitchen. read more

After months of looking at several cabinetry stores, we finally chose Son Cabinetry over Lowe's, number one because we wanted a local cabinet contractor that could stand on its own reputation vs. a national "brand", and number two for the choice of cabinets in the look we were going for. Although the project took longer than expected, it was definitely the smart decision. Tom was great at setting expectations for what Belmont Cabinets could or could not do, and was mindful of little details like how much space would be needed in corners to accommodate drawer handles, etc. And the finished product (the kitchen looks GREAT) which included reframing a doorway, removing a trough ceiling and not disturbing the existing installed floor tile, came out great. Matt as the project manager was responsive, and always had a "no problem", "we can fix that" approach to all aspects of the job. There were a couple of snafus such as the incorrect placement of electrical wiring, that I think would have been prevented with closer oversight, but he was always available to hear what was going on and always willing and able to react; Nothing was a "problem". Whenever we called, Matt came, many times on the same day. All in all, despite the length of time the project took, and wishing the workers had more oversight, we are very pleased. And (perhaps more importantly), we plan to use Son for our laundry room and bathrooms. read more

The lack of communication and customer service from Matt the owner and most of his subs was appalling. I never would have hired them except Tom the salesperson was good. Matt and crew would show up without an appointment or late if they did have one and then act as if they were doing me a favor. Matt called to "finish the job" but didnt have the rest of the drawers with him and demanded final payment before the work was finished. I would NOT recommend this company The refinishing cabinets by Mario turned out beautiful!! However the island was painted instead of stained. That change order was not told to Mario. The island I signed off & paid for come with one drawer I ordered three, Matt made two drawers however they were so shallow I can only put knives in, and you have to open the door to pull out the drawer!! I'd liked to see three slabs of quarts before fabricated hard to believe my kitchen took all those slabs. That was contracted out to Tomalak tile&stone. Felt the price was VERY high. They finished a few weeks late. Lesson learned pay individual contractor instead of grouping a project. read more

2005 had my kitchen remodeled & designed. I used the tradesmen that Matt (owner of Son Cabinetry) said to use but unfortunately I didn't pay Matt directly, so Matt assumes NO responsibility for my undercounted sink that was put in but had no bolts to hold the sink up. After several years and Matt's company coming out to regroup the sink (yet he didn't charge for this), I finally found out the sink was not installed correctly. I now remember that Matt has a short fuse, so why I tried to reason with him I don't know why I even tried. I was willing to give him my bathroom remodel at a price tag of $10,000 but with his proven unprofessionalism I decided to go in another direction. For a repair of $150.00 he lost a $10,000 job. I have never dealt with a owner who was so combative and would not accept that his tradesmen suck. He has alienated other tradesmen and now I understand why. read more

We recently used Son Cabinetry to remodel our three bathrooms. The process was pretty easy but we knew what we wanted in look and size. The design and selection process was simple; we visited the new showroom in Rancho Mirage. Once everything was selected, Son measured and ordered the cabinets, countertops, and sinks. We supplied our own faucets. When the cabinets arrived, the demo was done in just a day. Son's crew was very clean and respectful of our property and made sure our dog was happy, too! Once the cabinets were fitted and installed, the quartz counter tops were measured. Again, very easy for us; the installers were also very clean and respectful. Last day, we had a problem with the backsplash and electrical outlets. Matt, the owner of Son, brought in the owner of Creative Marble and the problems was fixed within an hour. Very good service; clean and respectful. Not cheap but competitive; it is now like having custom furniture in 3 bathrooms. Highly recommended. read more
