Of course I figured there was work to be done as dentistry in Vietnam is not to the same standards as the US. **Updated from the previous post** I have visited the doctor for the last time to finish up the crown that already prepared, and we have a long discussion to clarify the situation. What is gone wrong? - Communications I don't understand the procedure of why they left me with just the tooth preparation without having any temporary crown. I don't recall that they ever had explained to me nor giving me the option to choose to install the temporary crown. And in shock after "Don't smile and nobody will see it," I left the facility without addressing the concerns further. I seek out to other doctor's opinion, and they told me that no doctor would leave the patient without the temp crowd like this. The prep tooth is too small and there is no other way to fix this tooth anymore. This is the main frustrations that I snap out and post this review. So this time Dr. Son Trung Le explains to me and shows me other patients who go through the same procedure. And this considered normal for people who have done a root canal and that the tooth will recover faster. Also, there are miscommunications about the time frame. When it's time to book another appointment, they always say "we will do the crown for you next time," but when I show up they do other things. For example, after I did a root canal and booked next time to do a crown. When I show up, they say that they are going to do a post for a tooth then will do a crown on your next appointment. If they explain to me that I have to go through the different procedure before I can get to do crown, then I would not feel like they were lying to me. The doctor cannot estimate how many times I need to visit to finish the process because it varies on each person. However, it is not a big problem, as I do come into the office 4th times already. Everything ad ups include other misunderstandings about financial after I encounter with the crown preparation situation. As everything is clear to me now, I am giving back the stars. Every place will also have pros and cons depends on you and your situation. However, I do now know that the doctor and his team will willingly to fix the problem if you address it with them. read more

They refused to perform my routine cleaning without taking x-rays, which they already had from 6 months prior. They claimed it's standard practice to take x-rays twice yearly. It may be your practice but it's not standard by any means. I decided to leave and find another dentist. Hands down the best dentist in the city. They have been taking care of my oral health for the last four years.

I would never recommend this dentist to any one. I scheduled an one hour appointment for a teeth cleaning. However, he and his staff spent the first 50 minutes doing an extensive X-ray of my teeth (which I did not give consent for, and apparently it turned out it was not covered by my insurance). Because he took so long for the x-ray, he wouldn't give me a teeth cleaning, claiming 10 min is not enough, and asked me to come back another day. It was so difficult to take time off from work, that I was just appalled by his level of service. If you want to pay extra for an extensive X-ray, then go ahead. But if you just want a simple cleaning, then I would stay away from this dentist! read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. I made an appointment for myself and my wife nearly a month out. I clearly filled out all insurance information needed and even confirmed the appointment with them a week out. They call me the day before my appointment saying they don't take my insurance because the company is difficult to work with. That would have been useful information a month ago. I don't usually write reviews but I had to with this one!! Dr. Le and the staff there are so wonderful! They are extremely attentive and truly try to make your visit to the office as comfortable and efficient as possible. I really appreciate Dr. Le taking me in as a new patient and getting right to work. He even helped me out with a couple of discounts and not to mention he is hilarious!! One time I was there, he saw that I needed to see an oral surgeon and IMMEDIATELY referred me to a local oral surgeon. I was able to see them the same day because Dr Le pulled some strings, but only because he knew it was an absolute emergency! The staff is so kind and tremendously sweet! They always try to do the best for you and break things down so you understand it in basic terms. I also just love the home feel of the office. Bless Dr. Le! My 86 year old grandma asked me to find her a Vietnamese speaking dentist in SF after her last dentist caused her too much pain. My grandma is still alert and independent, so she wanted to find an office that she could take the bus to so she doesn't have to bother her kids/grandkids to take her. I could go on all day about how good the Dr is but here is what you need to know. The Dr cares more about his patients then anyone I've ever interacted with. I've had 3 appointments here for various operations and its unbelievable how much he goes out of his way to help people out. He is extremely thouough and rigorous, I asked tons of questions and he always knew what he was talking about. The office also puts the patients first. Every step of the way they make sure your every need is taken care of and that you're comfortable and well informed. They may go over the time limit with an earlier patient because quality of service is first and foremost here, but if they're running late they'll let the next patients know ahead of time. I could go on all day about this Dr and his staff. Highly recommended. The location was concerning but this is a professional establishment with close ties to their community. While I lived in SF Dr. Le was my dentist, I was very happy. When I moved crossed the bay, it's the least bay for a reason, I tried several other dentists and just wasn't happy. I've finally reached the understanding that while I might have to take a bus, hop on bart and take another bus to get to him it is well worth the effort it to see Dr. Le.
