Dr. Tong is has helped me over the years with standard cleanings, fill ins, and random dental emergencies. He has always been very quick to respond and happy to help when there is an urgent matter. I also feel like Dr. Tong does a great job not over diagnosing cavities. In the past, it felt like dentists I worked with were always trying to fill 'cavities' to possibly get more billing. I'm not a big fan of dentists. Honestly it's not the actual exam/cleaning part that bothers me. It's the fact that they never seem to be on time. I don't get why I can never get in and out of my old dentist's office in under 2 hours. I can't imagine there happens to be some dental emergency throwing off the whole schedule EVERY time I have an appointment. Which brings me to Dr. Tong. I managed to lose a filling eating caramel while visiting my sister in Wisconsin. As soon as I got home I started making desperate calls to various dental offices. Dr. Tong fit me in at the last minute. I think he actually stayed late to get me in. I was ushered into an exam room 5 minutes before my appointment, and was in and out of the office in 30 minutes. 30 minutes for paperwork, x-rays, exam and filling repair. Amazing. read more

He's super chill, doesn't over-prescribe things, doesn't tell you you need procedure unless you really need it, and really levels with you. Stanley is a great dentist who does his best to get you in if theres an emergency. I've also had him doing my teeth cleaning for a few years and he does it himself which is cool. I've been seeing Dr. Stanley Tong for the past 5 years. He's been terrific find and I have YELP to thank for that. He was one of many 5-star reviews I researched, but was nearest to where I live. He has a warm and positive personality and all his work on me including x-rays, cleanings, and one crown were pretty much pain free and easy. He's comforting and communicates very well. He can also really talk sports too (if that's your kinda thing). Unfortunately - I'm usually not in the best position to converse with tools in my mouth :-O The office is comfortable with a decent size waiting area with somes mags. I never wait longer than a couple minutes. His staff is very friendly and efficient. The building entrance is located between a Subway and CVS. The elevator in the building is currently down. So I did have to hike up to the 4th floor today using the stairs. Hope that gets fixed by my next visit back. I think Stan is the man if you are looking for a good dentist. read more

I just had my first appointment with Dr. Tong and I liked him so much I wanted to come back and write a review immediately! This was by far the best dentist experience I have ever had. Dr. Tong was gentle, very thorough, explained everything he was doing to my teeth, and answered all my questions. He was also super friendly and warm. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Tong. He's been my dentist for several years now and I have recommended him to many friends. Here's what I like about him- he's a nice, humble guy who remembers you (even when you've neglected your teeth for a few years!), and doesn't try to rip you off. I just came back from my first visit with Dr. Tong and I had to write a review, because...who ever expects such a good experience from a dentist?! I got lucky because I randomly chose the office based on location from a list of dentists in my network without checking for reviews...and of course found out afterward that I've been beaten to the punch by 38 other people already. Dr. Tong is the best dentist. I have used about five dentists, three were psychos, one was a complainer, and then there is Dr. Tong, pretty much what the great designer intended a dentist to be. The thing about Dr. Tong is he has a good way of scheduling appointments, and it has been like that for years. He puts in enough of a buffer so if a minor cavity is detected during the exam he can fix it without you having to come back, which is awesome. I work in the Silicon Valley so I don't have time to drive back up to the City all the time (yes, I drive all the way back up to see him, he is that good). If he finishes early I swear he goes into the back room and works on his golf swing, i can't prove it but this is what I think he does. He also runs his office the opposite way of what I call a "dental farm" runs like. He is just one guy - he is booked all day long but I never see a pile of people waiting, so he always looks cool headed. Awesome dentist. read more

Dr. Stanley Tong - he is Awesome (yes, with a capital A). I've been five or six times recently (had some teeth knocked out and needed a root canal, etc.) and he has never once been late. He always makes sure that I am comfortable with what he is doing and always shows me what he has done on the X-ray. I've been going to Dr. Tong for 17 years. I originally went to him because my previous dentist kept recommending a lot of costly work, so I got suspicious and decided to get a second opinion. Dr. Tong was very professional about it, saying he didn't see anything, but careful not to badmouth my previous dentist. Needless to say, I never went back to the other guy. All I've needed done since then is a couple of repairs on old fillings and my regular check-ups, which are always efficient and painless. His staff is also very professional, helpful, and courteous. They almost always answer the phone, and when they don't, they return messages promptly; no phone tree here. My husband and brother-in-law also go to Dr. Tong, and we all love him. The other day I chipped a tooth and was at a panic. Since this was soo last minute I called 1-800-Dentist and was referred to Dr. Tong. I was quickly connected to Abby (the receptionist) and she was able to fit me in that day even though they were already busy. I got there as fast as I could and was seen just as fast. Truth be known, I am not a fan of visiting the dentist but after this chipped tooth I knew this was a sign to see a dentist....it's been awhile unfortunately...but I told Dr. Tong my concerns and he reassured me that things were going to be okay. Luckily, it was only I who made it worse then it really was. He is very friendly and great at easing any anxiety. Although prices can be a little steep if you don't have insurance but it's okay...it's worth it if it concerns your health...I highly recommend him after only 1 visit!!!! read more

Dentist Tong is a wonderful dentist. I visited him for a second opinion on a root canal and decided to stick with him as my primary dentist. He reviewed x-rays of my tooth that were taken in his office and decided that I was a strong recipient for just a filling replacement as opposed to a root canal that my other dentist said was inevitable. I'm glad I came to Tong because my other dentist had just recommended to wait until the pain got unbearable and I needed to get the root canal. For a variety of reasons that was bad advice, but Dentist Tong found a better solution at a fraction of the cost! His demeanor is fantastic, and he really really listens to what you have to say. I can't recommend him enough. Edit: I had my filling replaced by Dentist Tong this week. It went quickly, easily, and I just snoozed in the chair while he did the work. I started to fall asleep a couple of times I was so relaxed! Anyway, he removed a large existing filling in one molar, refilled it, shaped it, and had me out in under and hour with zero pain.
