They sent Travis out promptly, who is their electrician where he found that the issue was resolved by replacing a faulty 40-amp breaker that was intermittently providing the necessary voltage, even though measurements initially appear correct. While the breaker issue caused real inconvenience and unexpected costs on my end, the owner was responsive and showed willingness to smooth things over to work toward a resolution. I also want to highlight that the panel upgrade and solar/battery installation itself was clean and well done. The workmanship that Eddie, Manny, Christian and Jamie performed had overall met my expectations, and once the issue was identified, Sunline did step in to correct it. No project is perfect, but how a company responds when problems arise matters a lot. In this case, Sunline's owner and Eric was engaged, responsive, and made a sincere effort to make things right. As an engineer, and after witnessing the symptoms and corrective actions firsthand, I believe the breaker issue was likely a manufacturing defect, and it was unfortunate that it occurred during the holidays. That said, based on how Sunline handled the situation, the overall quality of their work, and the value they offer, I would recommend them and plan to continue using them for future needs.

$30k and FIVE MONTHS AFTER permission to operate granted and I'm still producing 0 solar. A few…read moreweeks after my system was deemed complete by Stellar, I noticed that my consumption from the grid had remained the same. I pulled the data from the Tesla app and lined it up with the data from the SDGE app. I sent this spreadsheet showing that I was producing zero power and getting 100% from the grid to the guys at Stellar. The immediate, defensive and accusatory, response was that I should've went with the number of panels they suggested. Keep in mind, I was producing 0 kWh, not 1 or .3 but ZERO. They did not look into it all. A few weeks later, I sent the SDGE bill and they saw the problem but stated that's a problem with SDGE and not them and that's it's my responsibility. They did not validate that SDGE was receiving a signal showing my systems production. Twice, stellar asked that I've paid for the system completely before it was done. I held out payment until it was complete, but did not realize that this step had not been completed. As of this writing, the situation has not been resolved. I have called SDGE more than 10 times and spoken with management. Stellar has offered nothing to make this right after several conversations. I am unable to comment on the system as I have yet to see it operate.

Wire Smart is a great combination of Trust, Knowledge, affordability and capability. Family run business I have been using for years, small projects to new residential construction, remodel, full house rewire, panel upgrade, multiple solar installs, battery backup, EV charging and even spa connection. While you will see some other guys John and Ethan run the show, which is a great mix of Old School and New School. John has been in the industry for decades and there is nothing he hasn't seen before or run into that he can't fix. Great with inspectors and the folks at the permit counter. Ethan on the other hand knows how to install all the latest panels, breakers, apps for monitoring solar, smart home devices and I have seen him load pallets worth of panels onto a third story roof without breaking a sweat. I also need to warn John that Ethan is on your heels when it comes to experience these days, he is catching up. Great company to work with, they really stop and listen to what you need and come up with the right solution for your application. I have worked with some companies that say well this is what we did last time so that must be the answer this time, that almost never works. In the middle of a project they often say hey did you think about this? You know that thing that if you do it now it costs $10 but if you try and do it later because you forgot about it it costs you $500? I have often bid out projects and every time they come in less and start and finish when they say they will. I can not strongly suggest them enough when it comes to solar, I have done two projects with them and have two more they are going to start soon. These guys know what they are talking about, not those ridiculous solar sales guys other companies send out that know nothing but high pressure sales. Nobody beats their prices either. You will get an incredible product that will look like professionals installed it (because that is what they are), clean, correct and with all the cool little apps and monitoring so you can see it saving you money everyday.
