You get what you pay for. I travelled for business and could not find a room at most of my go to hotels due to an influx of spring trainee fans. The room was comfortable but old with chipped paint and scratches in things. The updated bathroom was the best feature. TV was on its last legs the picture being very dim. It's a suite but the one time I ate in the room and looked for a fork I noticed there were only two of everything and many empty kitchen cabinets. They have small appliances you can borrow but don't stir unless you've used the full size dishwasher to clean the two teaspoons they provide. AC worked well but was very noisy when it clicked on so bring ear plugs Patrons were well behaved and quiet with the exception of a heavy pot stink in my hallway. So much for no smoking rules There reception had a line of six people waiting for rooms at peak check in time every night. There was only one employee so get ready for a half hour wait to check in. There's no coffee in the morning and snack offering was weak. All the public areas were ratty and in need of Reno Pool was packed every night so I took a pass. Parking plentiful I'd say go for it if you're desperate! read more

The location is convenient to Phoenix and the airport. It's off a main street and surrounded by gated communities. Personnel were friendly and helpful. There is a pool and grill available to guests. Exercise room and laundry facilities onsite but did not use them (both clean and adequate). The place needs to be cleaned - elevator is dirty - or just replace the elevator floor. The room was dusty, tv remote did not work - front desk provided a replacement that work partially (power button did not work; had to use power button on tv, the channel and volume buttons only worked in one direction). Only basic tv no cable services. Can connect your own device to tv (didnt bring my HDMI cables as most places block such connections). Wifi was good! Bed was comfortable, bathroom was average. Window could be partially opened - good to get some fresh air in. Did not use the kitchen - saw a nasty roach in the sink. Odor from neighbors cooking fills the room. Some people smoking synthetic weed or other drug (natural weed smoke doesn't bother me). Parking was plentiful and safe. No hints or observations of people casing vehicles. No frequent police sirens. Price was low through third party. You get what you pay for! Would get 3 stars - average for the price but seeing roaches took a star away and service saved it from being a 1 star. It's 2 star for my experience. Pets are welcome and they even have complimentary dog treats. I did not have a pet with me. With pest control and better cleaning services this could be a great place to stay. read more

We stayed at the hotel for MLB spring training in Arizona and on the first day we saw 3 roaches crawling in the bathroom and then one in the drawers in the room. We notified the front desk and their response was that they are completely booked and can't move us and come back the next day. The following night we found 3 more roaches in the kitchenette and took pictures to show management. We tried to talk to management several times and the front desk continued to say she was not there. This is very concerning because my 4 year old was with me and my 17 year old nephew and this could cause health issues or even bring roaches back home with us. The rooms at this property seem smaller than those of other Sonesta Simply Suites that we have stayed at in the past. It was sort of a let-down when we first stepped into the room. We were surprised by the $5 per day per vehicle parking fee, which we somehow missed when we booked (we later found it on the hotel website so that was our bad). They have a convenience center near the check in desk with essentials, snacks, pre-made sandwiches and bottles of soft drinks. Prepare for the expected hotel upcharge (IE: Soda - $3). Honestly, isn't the standard 40 percent enough of a profit? The personal consumables (IE: Shampoo) are in pump-dispenser containers in the shower. The room had an odd but not entirely unpleasant smell that I could not place. read more

I'm still trying to figure out how to contact corporate concerning sexual harassment, I understand management has responded to my review, but they didn't offer to contact me or to fix any issues that I've had after reporting the Jacuzzi to be extremely filthy and them not caring about having children under five in the hot tub, which is an extremely dangerous thing on its own, but also not having proper swimwear/pampers, two nights ago I sat in the hot tub, not knowing the dangers that arose from them in properly, cleaning it, and not posting that they just shocked it. I am now suffering from a very severe chlorine, chemical burn all over my legs and lower butt area. I knew I was in trouble when my eyes were bloodshot red and would not stop watering. I looked around and didn't see any post that said that they just treated the pool I am flabbergasted that they would allow this not only that there is an old lady that has bullied me the past three nights that I've tried to enjoy myself. read more

Location is not very clean. No housekeeper throughout your stay, you take out your own trash, you have to go to front desk for any type of supplies. The room I stayed in was their version of the queen suite with separate room. The AC does not work that well and remained hot throughout the night. They are pet friendly but comes at a cost $$ (expected). Parking is $10 a night which they take out of your deposit amd you get a parking permit (not enforced). Per staff, house keeping does not come clean your room everyday and typically only exchanges linen when you leave. If you need new linens before that, you have to bring your old linens to the front desk and exchange. There are no extra set of linens in the room for the sofa bed, you have to ask for it. No complimentary breakfast (although not advertised either) Gym is not a "gym" it's a room with treadmills. The pool is great for about a handful of people at a time. The TV's are about 20 years old Summary: This place is ghetto fabulous for those on a tight budget that don't mind staying with the roaches. Personnel at the front counter mediocre at best for customer service. Careful about putting your card down for deposits or other purchases, the screen does not show you what your swiping for, so ask each time. read more

I was spending 6 days and 5 nights in Phoenix to visit and see friends since I had lived here and needed a place with more then just a bed and TV. I wanted something apartment like so I could move around, rest and have a kitchen with a fridge since I knew I would have leftovers from meals eaten out, and a few groceries to get me through the week. I found Candlewood online via hotels.com after scouring the east side of town for a nice place to stay that wasn't to far away from the expressway and friends I wanted to see. I booked the hotel online and got a pretty decent rate. I went with the deluxe room which comes with a separate sitting area, bedroom and full kitchen. They have at least 2 or 3 different style rooms in their hotel and even though it's not a luxury place, it felt luxurious with the amenities they offered. Plus, I was driving in from Albuquerque, so I knew I wanted something that felt like home versus having a spa and concierge. Pulling in, there's plenty of parking available and the pool is out front which is nice to see and swim in. I will say, the only downside of this hotel is that even though the lobby is clean and well maintained, it's small and not very visually appealing. It's way more functional, with limited space. Check in was quick, friendly and efficient and the staff here was really nice and professional. Walking into my room it was much larger than even I had expected. Enormous closet space for a hotel, plenty of drawers, closets and room to move about. The bathroom was very large with lots of fresh towels, washcloths and handtowels provided. Bar soaps, shampoo, conditioner and liquid body soap along with a mat so you don't slip and kill yourself getting in and out of the shower. The kitchenette came with a stove and 4 of the following: dinner plates, smaller salad plates, coffee cups, and silverware. There is also a 2 burner stove along with a pot to cook in and other kitchenette equipment to use for food prep. If you go downstairs, they also have items to check out for use in the kitchen if you need them. I used the dishwasher a few times and dishwasher powder is provided in the room and if you need more the front desk will provide it for you. The fridge comes with an automatic ice maker and plenty of room to put food of your liking in. Microwave was in good working condition and I had a few dish rags to clean up my mess after preparing or reheating meals. The living room area was fabulous. I had a larger couch with a coffee table, and the couch also doubled as a pullout bed if needed. There is more then enough room to pull the double bed out of the couch for company or a separate sleeping area if needed. The TV is a flat screen and I got tons of local and upgraded channels like HBO. There is a bar/table area with a desk chair and 2 kitchen chairs that I used for eating and doing stuff on the computer throughout my stay. Also, the one thing that I loved about this hotel was the free laundry. I had to do laundry twice while I was here, and let me tell you, it came in super handy! They have detergent and dryer sheets here but I had brought my own just in case they were not provided. Plus, the laundry facilities are FREE. no charge to wash your clothes! They also have a snack area where you can purchase drinks and snacks for a small fee. I think you can pay cash or bill it to your room. NICE! They also have a gym area which I did not use at all. The other favorite thing here is the pool that they have. Its big and they also have a hot tub too. You can turn on the bubbles and jets by pressing a button by the entry fence. They even have a covered area with two barbecues! You bring a towel from your hotel room and you can swap it out at the desk for a fresh one if needed, which I did. The staff here (including housekeeping) was fabulous and professional and helped me out when I had questions or needed assistance. They do a good job of keeping this place in good shape. Desk was always staffed and I never had to wait for more then a minute to get whatever it was that I needed. I had housekeeping refresh my room once during my stay, but their rule is you have to be here for more then 7 days to get housekeeping done. The housekeepers here are amazing, friendly and work super hard. The only downside to my stay which is why I deducted one star. First, they had hand sanitizers located by the elevators but they were never refilled when I was there. I even told the front desk and they said they would take care of it which they never did. I have my own hand sanitizer, so I just used that instead. The other reason I deducted a start was because their lobby printer was down and I was unable to print my airline tickets for my return trip home. I had to send them to the local Fedex office to be printed! Aside from that, thank you Candlewood suites! read more

There are so many maintenance issues. Customer service was hit and miss. It seems this place does "monthly" rates as there seems to be people living there. It is good distance to the Arizona Mills mall so that's nice but it desperately needs a preventative maintenance schedule and updates. Also the cabinets were dirty upon check in, kitchen was lacking items and the staff seemed upset when we asked for more plates because they only gave two in the smaller studio. Friends of ours got a larger room and they didn't have the same items as well. The bed was comfortable, but pillows were all different. It "worked" for a room you just need to lower your standards if you are used to all the amenities working in the suite. read more

The Pros: The stay here was okay, as the price was a bit better compared to many others. The kitchenette was cute and a nice addition for a trip where you may need a full refrigerator as well as microwave, and the layout of the room was perfect and spacious, even the restroom (which at other hotels can be very small and cramped). The Cons: The staff was not hospitable at all or professional and didn't seem to want to be there. The elevator was also a bit shaky and the room seemed to have a lack of care (such as a chair in the room that was completely ripped up or the hanging frame that had the cardboard backing and no picture. It should have been a mirror.) The shelves in the bathroom were also dusty and the morning After check-in, the towels we had yet to use were damp. All of this really brought down the value of the hotel to me and my spouse and made us feel we were at a low budget motel. read more

My usual hotel was booked up for the last two weekends (maybe because of spring training?). The parking lot is pretty big and then you enter into a small area and then you enter through another door (which is locked at 11pm, but your room card will unlock it). You have to sign a few things to check in. There's only one elevator (that I saw), but no hand sanitizer on either floor (I was on the second of three floors). The hallways were brightly lit. The room had a small kitchen, with a refrigerator with ice maker. Which meant no trips down the hallway to an ice machine. Microwave, dishes, dishwasher, sink, etc. The queen bed was fairly comfy and the bathroom was adequate. I didn't like their body wash in their shower dispensers. They had a nice little shelf above the sink to store your toiletries. Their closet was fairly large too. The tv was adequate, but I didn't watch much. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise for a two star hotel. I'd go there again. read more

This place will do in a pinch. Nothing to brag about, just bare-bones place. The bedroom studio room was clean enough, and I would actually give it a higher rating except we were greeted with such poor attitude that it's hard to bump up the stars. I'm not sure about you but when I come in to a hotel after playing hard or traveling a long Road, dealing with attitude at the desk when you're trying just to check in and get your key is inconsiderate. That said, the bed was very comfortable, the room had a small ample kitchen, but our shower water pressure hurt like little pinchers coming at you when you took a shower. Furthermore, our plumbing in both the bathroom and the kitchen was backed up and our body wash pump soap was totally empty. Just little things that need attending when people aren't in the room or before they arrive. Moreover, The gym was lacking towels and sanitizing wipes. Considering you only got two bath towels and two hand towels in your room you had to bring your own to the gym. And who in this day and age with Covid does not provide alcohol wipes? But the little gym was sufficient. Overall, average. I would come back though, I just know now what to ask for and look for. read more

I find it highly irresponsible to allow this hotel to continue using pet friendly and it should say dog friendly only! We couldn't even leave the cat in the car because it was still 100° out at 8:30 PM when we attempted to checked in, so we ended up paying a lot more at another hotel. Nobody cared! read more

Well, when getting to the hotel they charged our card for the whole amount, no first floor room, this hotel did not have two queen beds in any of the rooms. They were not accommodating at all. I was in town for a couple weeks and wanted some place comfortable. The room was nice, the kitchen had a full size fridge, dishwasher and a small stove. Pots, pans, dishes and silverware were included. The bed was very comfortable. The only downside was that the entire building smelled like a Marijuana store. It didn't matter what floor you were on. The laundry was free, but you were lucky if your clothes got dry as most of the dryers didn't work properly. read more

I decided I would consider a stay until I arrived and there were people high on the outside benches and literally smoking by the pools . I disregarded that to walk-in the lobby and notice a drug addict checkin in. After Covid and everything else we've been thru the last couple years I refused to subject my family to that . I refused to stay there and request a refund (Priceline) for the manager to lie and say I can't get a refund because I already checked in and also used my card for a deposit when in reality I walked in and right back out that place . Never did I check in and I made my reasoning very clear . This place is not a safe environment for families and I won't speak on the health hazard cause again I didn't not stay there . read more

Last year when my husband was doing IMAZ (Ironman AZ), we needed to find a nice, clean, friendly staff, easy to get to, hotel, and offers the Ironman discount! We found it at Candlewood Suites! We booked again for this years Ironman and booking again for next year! Candlewood have mini suites and large suites, full kitchen, flat screen television, big size bathrooms, 24 hour laundry room / mini store as well. The staff is very helpful, friendly and funny! Very comfortable stay here. Very happy with the friendly staff, the clean room, etc. The room was very nice and had a good, open work space, decent-sized kitchen, and a very nice, spacious bedroom. And, the towels were amazing. I'm kind of a towel and linen snob. Their towels were SO soft and SO clean and white. I was kind of surprised for an extended stay place (as customers tend to do things with their towels that they wouldn't do in a "normal" hotel, such as change and check their oil, color their hair, etc.) Very nice. Stayed here for a week with my family for our first gathering in three years. My brother lives in the apartment complex next door, so it was really convenient for our parents and I to call home for a week. The room was gorgeous and charming, and the amenities were great. The Candlewood Cupboard was especially great, giving me a quick and easy way to grab a quick lunch or snack in between outings. Also early check-in was so convenient, as I got into town much earlier than my parents and wanted to relax. A couple of problems with our room -- the garbage disposal didn't work, and we didn't figure that out until I made breakfast on morning one, and left onion and egg shell in the sink drain! Also I had the misfortune of sleeping on THE most uncomfortable fold out couch known to man. The mattress was too thin for the metal bars in the fold out. If the rest of the hotel hadn't been so great, that alone would've knocked this review down to a three or even a two star. Advice to the hotel: invest in thicker mattresses, or offer nice, thick mattress pads for guests to pick up from the front. Also, there are no luggage racks available, much to my mother's chagrin. But there are plenty of places throughout the suite to set luggage, so she adapted. I see a few complaints for the lack of cleaning service during your stay, but there's free laundry machines and you can bring anything you need replaced (sheets, towels) down to the front desk and they'll take care of you. And really, it's not hard to pick up after yourself in what constitutes a small apartment if you're staying for fewer than 7 days. Fun bonuses to check out: the grills in the pool area. We didn't get a chance to grill anything with our busy schedules, but they looked so convenient! Also the pool has floaty noodles available for guest use, and we all had a fun time with them one night! And be sure to check out the front desk's DVD rental. Not the most recent selection, but lots of fun movie night flicks. And it's free! read more

i guess this is one of those 'traveler's hotels'. not quite ghetto enough to be a by-the-hour type joints, but ghetto enough to have a guy with denim shorts and wifebeater with his feet in the hot tub drinkin a miller lite. I like the kitchenette in every room. the fridge was convenient and there's free dvd rentals from the front desk and free internet access as well. They also have a pool outside with lots of old people lounging around. I woulda been popular if I brought the 6 pack of ensure and passed out shots of metamucil. but seriously, it's a good convenient place to stay with lots of restaurants and shopping near by. read more

Not a bad location, being right next to a handful of different types of food (fast food, bar food, pizza joints) and being 15 min. to the airport was also a major plus. the rooms were typical, of an extended stay (kitchen, "living room" and bedroom combo) but I must say that the walls are a bit thin. When you're at an extended stay, you're there for - well, an extended period of time! So you get to meet those next to you several times . And on this particular trip, I may have gotten a little more familiar than I wanted (and not by choice) . Damn those thin walls... but you got to love a couple in love... Comfy beds, nice staff, good location. read more

This is my first stay in this hotel and I am impressed with the staff and the hotel itself. When I first checked in they gave me a room that was not cleaned. The management immediately moved me to another room which was nice and clean. They handled the situation with a friendly and polite attitude. The hotel itself was nice and having a full kitchen in the room was convenient. The property is starting to look a little worn in some areas although it is well maintained. Accidently Booked this place for 3 night stay to recover from surgery. There is another Sonesta Suites less than a 1/4 mile away that I thought I was booking. Beware when booking, you do not want the simply Suites. While the front desk agent, Theresa was sweet as can be, this is an extended stay hotel. I was charged a $250 deposit, which I had no idea was going to be charged. Also charged daily for parking. The set of towels in your room are part of a towel exchange program, they wash and return them to you. No extra towels for your stay. No housekeeping unless you're staying 7 days, you dump your own trash too. This is more of an apartment type living place, there are families and dogs who call this home. The hallway smells of all kinds of food, because the rooms have small kitchenettes in them. If you're sensitive to smell, this is not the place for you. The price reflects the stay, I would not stay here again. Beware of the location, the Sonesta Suites a block away is a lot nicer stay. I'm giving it 2 star, nice staff, located next to a big outlet mall, they offer small complimentary laundromat on premises and my bed was comfortable. The food smells, barking dogs and limited housekeeping during my stay. If I was not recovering from a back procedure, taking my own trash out is not a huge problem. ​ read more

I've stayed here since May well it came to a guy banging on my door at 11:45pm and screaming and yelling at me and wishing me dead he then to elevator and was still screaming and yelling at me wishing me dead the lady from came down and told him to go to his room this is the 4th time he's done something I went down to talk to here to tell her what started it and he called her 4 times in the morning to talk to manager she took me into another room to tell me she can't extend my stay anymore because of this I DON'T think that's far since I'm the victim read more

We were very pleased with our stay. The best part was how helpful the staff were. I came in at midnight only to discover a problem with my reservation, and the desk person called several people till she found someone who would answer the phone and work out the problem. We found the room large and comfortable, with an easy chair and plenty of desk and counter space for two people to work on laptops. Would NOT recommend just spent 9 nights in this hotel and here are our experiences. When AC comes on, which it does often, you cannot hear the TV. ice maker also noisy. Parking was terrible trucks in lot, buses, trailers, etc taking up spots. Had to get help for toilet that didn't flush and sink that did not drain. They do NOT change your sheets or clean your room daily. You must put out your own garbage, bring your dirty towels to front desk for new ones. Great way for hotel to save money at Your expense. No breakfast. Pass it up. Better off with full service hotel. read more
