    Floors not cleaned

Review based on 9/21/24 stay. Was suppose to be 2 nights but after the first night we went elsewhere. I hate giving bad reviews but this hotel has been the absolute worst hotel experience I have had in my adult life. I would consider this more of a motel but with doors on the inside than a hotel. There is no hospitality from the front desk employees upon check in or even when we checked out a day early. The first young lady did not call my daughter over when we checked in, she just looked at her, did not give directions on where our room was located, did not give a warm send off. When she came to give us new card to the second room she literally just handed it over and said nothing. The girl who helped us check out was on the phone when we walked up and had an attitude with the person on the phone and when she helped us, no welcome, threw our room keys, didn't ask if there was any issues, nothing. Both of these girls should not be representing this establishment. The first room we got was dirty, had a used wash clothes hanging in the bathroom, desk was not wiped down, there was stuff all over the floor. I was shocked the beds were even made. The second room was cleaned and beds were comfortable but you can hear so much noise from the main street in front. There is a family of bird living in the side of the building that made noise on top of the street noise all night. There are no amenities in the room, like a fridge or microwave, no dresser, no closet, no coffee maker, not even bottled water. The parking lot is beat up and needs work. The first elevator sounds like it's gonna break down, go to the other one down the hall for your safety. The only positive I have is when we called about our first room being dirty, the gentleman who answered was nice and he felt really bad, maybe he is the manager so he cares a little more. This place needs a serious make over in hospitality training. We will never go back. I'm sure they are use to dealing with rude people all the time since it's so close to the college but don't be rude to nice people who haven't been rude to you yet.

The Moxy Hotel in Tempe has a convenient location, but it fell short in other areas. When you walk in, there is no traditional lobby. It's a lobby bar/game room and the bartender also serves as the person who checks you in. Rooms are bare minimum: thin mattress, no comforter just a blanket. No rugs or couch or any furniture and the walls were thin, making it hard to enjoy a quiet stay. The blackout curtains worked well. There was a huge beanbag chair which was fun. I didn't mind the lack of a closet. I thought the concept of hangers on the wall itself was funky, functional, and a better use of space in most cases. The "ironing room" -- a supposed area stocked with towels, toiletries, and other amenities. Unfortunately, it was completely understocked, for basic supplies like towels. It's clear there's a lack of attention to detail when it comes to maintaining the hotel's resources. There was a hotel restaurant but free breakfast is limited (parfait, fruit, muffin) not like other hotels in Marriott Bonvoy hotel chain offer. And overall this hotel is in a great location. Close to downtown Tempe as well as quick freeway access. Location is the only redeeming quality. The location is ideal, with a CVS right next door for any quick needs, and it's incredibly easy to catch an Uber, Lyft, or even a Waymo to explore different areas around the city.

Are stay was horrible. First room the sheets were dirty. VERY DIRTY. The phone didn't work nor did the outlets. The second room the tv didn't work. The third room the shower is dirty and we had the worst sleep of our life because the thermostat didn't work. We were so cold. I even turned in up to 80* and it still is about 60*. DO NOT STAY HERE

There is a very long live edge table that is nice to use for eating or workspace.

Its is weird to check in to the hotel with the bartender and have tour room bumbers given to you aloud with ppl sitting maybe two three feet from you on either side. However that was my experience checking into this hotel and that makes me uncomfortable. Next while checking in i was asked are you just here for the day? Uh... no. But after i saw my room and my blanket had a big old stain on it I wished I was here for just the day... Went to housekeeping asked for my room to get a new grey bedcover. Instead of housekeeping doing this for me I started my visit to Tempe remaking a bed that hadnt been even sat on yet. Not happy about that. Then scrolling thru my reservation i notice housekeeping isnt even guaranteed. So that makes sense why the staff didnt offer to do this. Still i expect more from a marriottt branded hotel. This hotel is really geared to a segment I am no longer in. 20 yr ild me would be like this so sooooo cool. 40+ me is like "hmmmmmm". The lobby is dark but open. It has cool lighting. Lots of seating. a pool table, fusbol, had guitars on the wall u could borrow and bring back and a lot of free pinball machines. Large tables for dining or working. Its very comfortable with a young hip vibe. Big bar in the center where drinks and food can be ordered. This also can be accessed by the pool area that is adjacent to lobby What I hate obviously is you check in at the bar. Weird. The hallways are colorful. There is one pink door per floor where guests have keyed access to towels, toiletries and ironing supplies. The room is clean but humid. Wish u could iron in your own room. I disliked needing to go way down the hall for that. Pool is a good size and offers floaties and when on deck there are cabanas. Fun. It was a little dirty last night so we did not use it. Room: i had 2 queen beds. They were very comfortable. So far haven't had one bed bug bite me. Yay, as four months ago someone left a review with pictures of them being eaten alive so I was fearful of this. But again my room was fine. However- Its a very dim room. 20 yr old me would love this. Me now- too dark for my liking. Bathroom fixtures excellent. Sliding glass doors. Fancy hand held modern shower fixtures. Large overhead shower head. A+. Con: exhaust fan is quiet but the bath gets VERY humid. Had avocado toast from the kitchen. It was average nothing special. Get something else is my recommendation. Every time I was by bar lots were eating, it looked good and fresh. Grab and go pantry is excellent. Lots of things to chose from. Staff welcoming. Management excellent. I asked for a pool side room w balcony. I got ground floor. Disliked the location. Room was fine, clean, safe. I have to say i feel there were a lot of tinder hookups going on here that particular night (not a fault of Moxy by any means)which created a temp weird vibe. Made me uncomfortable. For that reason I steered clear of the bar. I chose to shorten my stay and find a different hotel primarily due to the low light of the room.

This was my first time staying at a Moxy Hotel and it was a fun experience. It seems geared towards a younger crowd with a bar and how they decorate their rooms. I like the fact there are guitars everywhere including in our room, I just wish I knew how to play. They have Ironing Rooms where guests can iron their clothes which also stocks some extra supplies (towels, toilet paper, coffee keurigs) that people might need. The hotel staff seemed pretty nice and responsive, the people checking guests in were also waiting on people for the restaurant and mixing drinks at the bar. Their lobby/bar/lounge area had pinball machines, old arcade games, a pool table and other games. In one corner they have a small business center with a printer. This place is very dog friendly, so we had our dogs both inside the lobby and on their poolside patio area. This hotel seemed in a good location for us to get around with a rental, near ASU and a bunch of different restaurants and shops. I think we'll try this place again.

This is a long overdue review for this amazing hotel…read more I've visited Tempe to attend the Innings Festival three times now. Each time staying at a different Marriott property: Aloft the first time, Westin the second time, and at this Residence Inn during my last visit. And I have to stay, this was probably my best stay. Location wise, this property is a couple of blocks away from the Westin. But still within walking distance to the Innings festival site. The nightly rate to stay at this property was also much lower in comparison to Westin and/or Aloft (at the time of booking). And being a Residence Inn, obviously breakfast is included in the rate. Anyway, the check in process during my stay was quick, and the staff was super friendly and hospitable. Actually, all the staff encounters I'd had during my stay were super pleasant. From offering me a bottle of water when I had purchased a pack of ibuprofen to just a simple hello and a smile as we're walking by the front desk. I don't think I've ever stayed at any Marriott property where the staff is just overall pleasant! During check in, I found out that my room had been upgraded. I had originally booked a room with two queen beds but got upgraded to a two bedrooms suite with a personal bathroom in each bedroom. The hotel room also had a little common area and a kitchenette. Awesome! The noise level at this hotel was pretty much on par with every other hotel I'd stayed in so I'm not complaining about that. I thought my bed was comfortable and I always had a good night sleep during my stay here. Breakfast foods are pretty much what you'd get at any other Residence Inn. You get your eggs, sausages, potatoes, juices, waffles, etc. And although the hotel was sold out during my stay (or so I was told), the line for breakfast never got too long. And although I didn't drive here, there's a parking garage (I think public parking garage) attached to the hotel and I believe it was only around $15/night to park there. So they weren't charging insane parking fees that hotels located in downtown anywhere typically charge. Would I stay here again in the future? Hells to the yes!

Cons: Proximity to the airport leads to a lot of noise, making it difficult to sleep. They did provide earplugs which didn't help very much. No room service. Responses to messages on the Marriott app are slow. No makeup mirror in the bathroom. Room was uninspiring. There was one small drawer and no other place to unpack. I did self parking at the Brickyard Parking Garage for $16 for 24 hours which was a 3 minute walk across a side street and down a short flight of stairs. I found it super convenient and would recommend it to anyone looking to skip valet. The lobby was nice, very clean and open with high ceilings and a comfortable sitting area. Austin got me checked in quickly and hooked up with their welcome package that included two free margaritas at the rooftop bar Skysill, two free cups of coffee or tea at their coffee shop and two free smoothies from Terra their restaurant on the 1st floor. I stayed in one of their Executive Suites With Mountain View and when I say the room took my breath away, I actually gasped!! The room also came with bathrobes, complementary water bottles in the mini fridge, wine glasses and a corkscrew. I really loved being able to relax knowing everything was thought out! I also really enjoyed the rooftop patio the next morning when I took my laptop up to enjoy the sunrise over the city while getting my work day started. My morning was a breeze, enjoying beautiful views, my complimentary tea and smoothie but the standout of my stay was Aneesa at concierge. I had a last minute schedule change for a meeting that left me stressed for time to checkout and make my meeting but Aneesa saved the day when, without hesitation, she moved my checkout time back so I could complete my Teams call in the privacy of my room and not feel rushed to leave. A couple places I feel the hotel may have room for improvement on is stocking additional amenities for the bath like epsom salts or bubble bath and the windows of my room could have been cleaner but those little things really didn't bother me much at all. Honestly, I just walked across the street to the 24hr CVS and bought some bubble bath after my drinks and enjoyed a nice relaxing soak, it was perfect! SHE: It was very pleasant. It was luxury for us for this trip. HE: I think we've said all we can say about it. SHE: It was carpeted. HE: Oh yeah, it had carpet. I prefer that.

There is a small supplied kitchen and refrigerator plus cooktop stove and small refrigerator freezer. You easily could live there for months. It has a high top dining and working counter. It has a large screen tv that swivels for watching from bed or living room. It has a clothing closet. It has two low dressers four drawers total. And a nightstand. TV stand has some small shelves. By door you find a shoe and pantry nook for small food storage. Also has a dishwasher. Pros: Can cook and eat there. Rooftop pool with bar. Great location by arena and football stadium. Walkable to restaurants, Trader Joe's, ASU Tempe campus, light rail and buses and transportation center all right there. Town Lake and office complex a few blocks away. Free breakfast every day that's pretty good and varies a little each day with free coffee and other morning drinks. Has a workout room with a great view. Very friendly and helpful staff, went out of their way twice to fetch sweetener and ice. Small convenience store next to front desk. Reasonable daily parking fee that includes unlimited in and out privileges Cons: On a five night stay, housekeeping only checked on us 2 days. Needs small repairs here and there. Example: 2 or 3 drawers had loose pulls that needed screw tightening, saw a weather strip partially detached from door frame. Small workout area had limited equipment. One treadmill was broken one day and I had to wait an hour for the treadmill hog on the only working treadmill to get off despite posted 45 minutes max use rule. Other equipment like weights a bit limited. They allow pets and one day we had to deal with a barking dog somewhere morning and night. We complained twice and the hotel staff could only say they tried and that people are not supposed to leave their pets unattended. Bella from light rail every five to fifteen minutes if you get the southern/western side of the building.

The first impression was warm and inviting: the decor has a cozy, Native American-inspired vibe, complete with a little fire pit area that added to the charm. At check-in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly front desk staff, who made the check-in process smooth and of course offered us the Signature Doubletree cookie. The hotel's layout blends indoor and outdoor spaces, so after checking in, we had to walk outside to reach our room. While the room felt a bit dim, outdated, and slightly worn, it was decently clean and worked just fine for a short overnight stay. One of the biggest perks of this hotel is its proximity to the airport--super convenient for layovers or early flights. They also offer a shuttle service, and the drivers were cheerful and friendly, which made the travel experience very enjoyable. If you're looking for a quick and comfortable stop near the airport with friendly staff and a unique ambiance, this hotel is a solid choice.

We were staying one night in Phoenix before our flight and decided to book through our Hilton Honors account at a DoubleTree. The location we originally wanted was full, so we chose the Tempe property instead. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. The woman at the front desk was very standoffish. When we asked about room rates, she quoted a much higher price than our Hilton Honors rate, so we decided to book online while standing in the lobby. When we went back to check in, she told us we had to wait. I also asked for one of the famous cookies, and she said they "weren't ready." She offered no welcome, no information about the hotel, and didn't ask any questions. If you're the face of a hotel, a warm and friendly attitude makes all the difference. Once we got to our room, things didn't improve. The property itself feels very old and outdated. The carpet was torn right at the entrance with sharp pieces sticking out, the AC was loud and squeaky, the headboard wasn't attached to the wall, and we heard a strange tapping sound all night long. We decided to give the property another chance by trying the on-site restaurant, Milagros. Unfortunately, both meals, the ribeye and fajitas the ribeye was raw (and made my husband sick later) and the steak on the fajitas were super tough and both were disappointing. The steaks were poorly cooked and lacked flavor. The one bright spot of the evening was Pedro, who apologized sincerely and provided 50% off my fajitas. His customer service was excellent and truly appreciated. Overall, this hotel does not reflect the quality or hospitality I've come to associate with DoubleTree. It's old, outdated, and lacks the warmth and care that usually make this brand so dependable. I truly hope management takes steps to refresh both the property and the guest experience.
