I came here for a work trip. When coming here, I noticed there was lots of shopping areas nearby that were walkable. The lobby entrance was big with lots of seating. The people who checked me in were nice. I stayed in a king bed room. The room was spacious with a fridge and microwave. The room was clean and decent. The housekeeping doesn't clean unless requested. The gym was small but had 2 treadmills and a bike. It had a few weights. I had a nice stay here. read more

Very pleasantly surprised by this hotel! I got this hotel because it was in a convenient location with all I wanted to do in Phoenix. However, I will continue coming to this hotel for the convenience of the location, as well as the quality I felt like I received. Though there is no breakfast, there is a café where you can purchase breakfast, which is the next best thing. They have a pool, a gym, and the hotel is nice. The best thing of all was the spaciousness of the rooms and affordable nightly rate. I love that the room had a microwave, as well as the small fridge, and a separated bedroom. It's really everything I can ask for a hotel. I'll definitely be staying here in the future when coming to Phoenix! read more

Pretty great stay!!!! The room was awesome and the location is great if you are visiting Phoenix. One complaint is I didn't get a great sleep on the bed, it was not super comfortable. But beds are highly personal preference. The other being the Heater/AC. If let you set it down to 64, but it didn't even come close to mid 60's, even in the middle of winter. We had a pretty hot night, and it's a bit loud when it kicks off and on. One tip for anyone who can't sleep hot and has a room with a family room, there are 2 thermostats!!! Make sure to set both! That seemed to make a big difference in the morning after we noticed. All in all, pretty great room for the area. read more

Stayed one night to visit family. I loved the quietness of the place it is a hidden gem. Nicholas checked me in and he was so friendly and welcoming. Rhonda checked me out and she was also friendly and welcomed me back. The room was very clean and comfortable. I loved that there is a Starbucks cafe in the lobby. Super comfortable bed. I had the best sleep ever. The bed was the perfect hardness and softness. The sink is located just outside the bathroom makes it convenient for more than one at a time to get ready in the morning. Can't wait to stay here again. read more

Due to overbooking, we were given a room (and $80 off) similar to what we requested originally. The Sonesta was a decent stay; the attentive staff replaced our broken mini-fridge quickly. The pool was heated, the hottub was comfortable (not boiling), and the grounds were visually pleasing; with plenty if outside seating. The 2 level parking lot was brightly illuminated as well. The breakfast wasn't complimentary, but don't let that stop you from considering staying here. read more

The Sonesta Camelback almost always has very good rates and in July, I snagged a good deal. The hotel is very quiet since it is off the main road and the room, fitness center and pool were all very clean. It is an older hotel and the hallways are a bit dark, but I really enjoyed the large pool area and having the super clean fitness center entirely to myself. The rooms have a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot, so you can walk next door to Trader Joe's or Whole Foods and grab food to prepare yourself or walk out any of the numerous restaurants in the Town and Country shopping center next door. The bed was comfortable and had a duvet for cleanliness versus a comforter, and the pillows were nice and squishy conforming well to your head. Parking is free. I would stay again read more

Well located hotel that is a little hard to find (behind other buildings, look for the sign) but next to shopping and restaurants - once you find it! Staff was welcoming and thorough. Nice breakfast options for a charge. Clean and comfortable suite accomodations. We were visiting famly in the area and would definitely stay again. read more

Nice hotel in a great location! The hotel is nearby a variety of places to eat and stores to shop at. Nice jacuzzi and pool that gets plenty of shade from perfectly placed trees in the afternoon. Rooms are satisfactory but most importantly the bed was comfortable! Breakfast isn't included but there's plenty of options within walking distance and also at the coffee shop in the lobby. Very clean and comfortable! The woman who checked us in was very kind and helpful when we finally got there at 1:30AM, recommended we check delivery for food when I mentioned that we had been driving for 12 hours and needed food that hopefully didn't require being in a car for more than a few minutes. She explained parking and policies and offered us coffee if we needed it. Beds are comfy, shower has great pressure, toilets don't clog, sheets are clean, carpet is clean. Worth the stay and definitely will be coming back next time we visit. read more

The place itself is clean but the service was on the lower end. When we got to the room there was no soap and when we asked for soap found out there was no soap and they had ran out. There was also not an adequate amount of towels and sheets in the room for the number of guest staying. The place was nice otherwise and it appeared clean but the service in terms of provision of products for guest, was lackluster. read more

Room was not fully cleaned, bathroom smelled like urine and feces so it had clearly not been fully cleaned. Room was fine. After checking out, I realized I lost my luggage and called the staff who said they would reach out to me if they found it or NOT. After waiting a week, I went to the location to follow-up since they had not followed-up. The staff LIED and said my room was found empty when it was not empty. When I explained this to them, the staff became rude and escalated the situation unnecessarily (stormed off during conversation, said I was a liar/forgetful). Once I said I would call corporate for their behavior, they became upset and called the cops... whole situation was handled unprofessionally. I had stayed at many 2-star hotels with much better service and professionalism than this. Make sure to NOT leave your belongings in their rooms because it will get taken. It may or may not have been my luggage, but my other "unreported" items have essentially been stolen. THEN after my stay, a staff member tried to charge my account for 10 dollars 3 times, all declined by my bank. Not sure what is going on with this hotel and staff but I will NEVER stay here again based on their weird behavior. They will lie to cover their tracks and not be liable as a hotel, and then treat you like a criminal. Disappointed... read more

A huge bus/motorhome sporting a florescent pineapple lighted sign in the window, was saved a prime parking area next to the hotel, and ran it's generator ALL NIGHT LONG. At 7pm, I was told it would be turned off and the "guests" all had rooms. After settling in, getting into bed around 9, it was still running. I called the front desk and was told they would find out. Later I got a call saying the generator would run all night but I could have a room on the 5th floor. Also, I would have to move everything myself. My husband had eye surgery and the eye center next door, and we had an 8 am follow-up appointment the next morning. He could not carry anything. I declined the move. After I was in bed, I got a call that there was a room on our floor and they would bring me a cart. At that point, I just needed to go to bed. Had they investigated earlier, or saved a parking space away from the hotel, this all could have been avoided. Who knows what went on in the bus all night. A lot of money spent to sleep in a "campsite." read more

I have stayed at this hotel a few times over the past two years. I come to Phoenix at least twice a year and I usually star here because it is close to my property and has lots shaded parking in the parking structure next door. There are lots of stores and places to eat nearby. It's generally quiet and the rooms are adequate. I'm giving four stars because pets are allowed in every now and I am particularly not very fond of that. I don't care to sleep in a bed that others jet their dogs or cats sleep in. I am a very clean person and the room I had this last trip smelled la bit musty, and wet dog odor. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available and I had to endure this forever nights. Not everyone wishes to be in hotel rooms where dirty animals have been and despite what anyone says, dogs and cats are dirty. It's bad enough they are going into stores and restaurants, but I feel hotels should have more rooms available for people who don't want to be in rooms where smelly animals have been. I'm not sure I will book a room here again, unless i cannot find a place that omits pets in some of their rooms. Other than that, it is a nice place to stay and has some amenities, pool, laundry and the parking. Maybe places will stop catering to pet owners over the general customers. 4 stars read more
