You can come for appetizers and wine tasting or dinner and wine by the bottle. Seating includes a covered front and back porch. Inside there's a long bar with plenty of bar seating, along with tall two-tops and standard four top tables. For a large party you been rent out half the space or all of the space. The service was like being waited on by friends. They were so helpful in explaining everything and, if you're inclined, they're happy to talk about what they've built here together -- Mother, Son, and Daughter-in-Law, all working in harmony to make this place sing. We've tried a number is wines and dishes get. The Pintxos are amazing. The Tapas are totally on point with our favorite being the Albondigas meatballs. And the charcuterie featured really high quality chorizo, Serrano ham, Manchego and Mahon cheeses, almonds, grapes and an amazing quince jelly that's firmer than a standard jelly and quite delicious. Well be back. And we'll bring friends :-)

We got to opportunity to chat it up with Armando, the owner as well. Exceptional customer service, felt very welcome here. I wish I had room for dessert but that's absolutely good enough reason to return and try more wine!

The Burger was good but the steak bowl was very disappointing. It was $19 but the portion was incredibly small, I think it was one of the most expensive items in the menu, if not the most and it was really small. I had to share my burger with my mom bc the portion was so small that she was hungry after eating it. Other than that, the service was great. Way too overpriced for what it was. We kind of regretted going, especially because so many people recommended us to go.

In particular the deviled eggs and Brussels sprouts caught my eye, unfortunately the latter was sold out so I went with the sweet potato Both dishes I had were really good! The candied bacon paired really nicely with the creamy deviled egg, the hot sauce vinaigrette didn't add too much flavor, but honestly adding a significant amount of heat would've probably taken away from an already very tasty dish. The baked sweet potato on the other hand had a nice dose of heat from the Calabrian honey vinaigrette, the sweet heat combo worked really, I'm surprised I'd never come across a spicy sweet potato dish before, but I'll definitely have my eye out for it in the future Overall I had a very good experience and will definitely be back for future rest stop meals between Austin and Dallas!

We started with the pan-roasted romanesco, which was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The bread service with compound butter was a standout on its own: simple, but done at such a high level that it set the tone for the entire meal. We grabbed seats at the bar, which ended up being a great move. The atmosphere was lively but relaxed, and we enjoyed several glasses from their excellent wine selection. Our bar tender was knowledgeable, welcoming, and she made the whole experience feel elevated without being pretentious. For entrees, my wife ordered the chicken and fries, crispy, juicy, and incredibly satisfying. I went with Blaine's burger, and I don't say this lightly: it's hands down one of the top three burgers of my life. Perfectly cooked, beautifully balanced, and unforgettable. Blaine's is doing something special. If you're in Waco and looking for a place that nails both food and experience, this is it. We'll be back soon.

Presentation of the dishes was attractive and thoughtful, and we were pleased with our wine selections. We started by sharing the poblano corn chowder. Unfortunately, the dominant impression was salt. The soup was more of a brown, creamy sauce with chicken and corn than the aromatic, herb-forward poblano chowder I was expecting. Beyond the saltiness, there wasn't much depth or complexity of flavor. For entrées, we ordered the steak and the ahi tuna tomahawk. Both were visually impressive, but once again the overwhelming characteristic was salt. The tuna may have had a hint of tarragon, but it was difficult to appreciate much else. The steak was exceedingly salty--surprisingly so, even for someone who is not shy about using salt. Service was courteous but somewhat inattentive and slower than expected. At this price point, I would have hoped for more attentive service and a broader range of flavors rather than repeated assaults on the sodium receptors. One final curiosity: water was served in what appeared to be small jelly jars, which felt a bit odd given the otherwise upscale presentation. Overall, Blaine's gets good marks for ambiance, presentation, wine, and especially the live music. Unfortunately, the kitchen's heavy-handed use of salt overshadowed much of the meal. With more restraint in seasoning and a bit more attention to service, this could be an exceptional dining experience.

We stopped by this Black-owned wine bar on Austin Street and grabbed a table on the left side near the door. Right away the vibe felt right. The space was cozy but lively, and the DJ was absolutely on point. The music was so good that what started as "just one dance" quickly turned into a full line-dancing situation for most of the night. We started with a cheese board, which paired perfectly with the bottle of wine we ordered (something with "Poppy" in the name -- and trust me, it was really good). Now here's where the night took an unexpected but memorable turn. I danced so long that I completely missed the kitchen closing at 10 PM. By about 10:30 the dancing had caught up with me and I realized I was starving. I asked if there was any chance I could still order something, fully expecting the answer to be no. Instead, the owner and bartender went above and beyond. They actually went back to the kitchen and made it happen. A little while later I had a fresh pepperoni pizza in front of me -- and it was delicious. That kind of hospitality sticks with you. Between the great DJ, good wine, tasty bites, and genuine customer care, Meet Me at Marie's delivered a night that was equal parts chill wine bar and dance floor fun. Safe to say... I'll definitely be back. And next time I'll try to remember to order before the kitchen closes -- but it's nice to know they've got your back if you forget.

It is obvious that he loves what he does and enjoys making people happy. The concept is a self-serve wine bar with a laid back, jazz feel. After Sidney, or one of his knowledgeable, friendly staff has enthusiastically introduced you to the large selection of wines, and given a brief tutorial on how to use the dispensers, you're issued a pre-paid card with the money amount of your choosing (The card is refillable.). Now you are free to go on and explore the vast selection at your leisure. Each dispenser offers a sample pour so you can try them all. Now don't be mislead by "self-serve". Marie's also has a very friendly and capable staff that is willing to assist you to make you visit memorable and enjoyable. They can also whip you up some incredible cocktails, mocktails. Another unique offering at Marie's is their programing and entertainment. Live music, Sip & Paint, comedy shows, book signings, holiday events are just a few offerings on their ever changing calendar. Follow them on Facebook for updates. Marie's also offers some unique food choices featuring a few traditional, homemade Thai dishes curated by Chef Thip, native to Thailand. Thip uses only natural and organic ingredients, with many of the herbs and spices picked from her own garden. The Phanang chicken Curry, and Moo Ping (marinated grilled pork skewers) are popular favorites. If you're not feeling Thai, Marie's offers handmade Flatbreads, Charcuterie boards, and other dishes to enjoy. One last note, Marie's also offers event space and catering for your next party or gathering. I've been to a few events and they were fantastic and the food was amazing. Sorry for the long review, but this cool little place deserves to be seen.
