Only got a slush here and it was not exceptional, but that's not really the point. A few months ago I had read about their plans to release a pickle-flavored slush in June. Today being the first day of June, I decided to see if they might be selling it already. No signs, so I asked an employee about it. It wasn't officially on the menu yet, but they did have it, he told me. Generously he sold me and my friend some. I was grateful. Two smalls were $1.68 or something cheap like that. So how was the pickle flavor? My friend tried it before I did and automatically decided it was disgusting (he later decided it was okay). I then tried it, a little apprehensively. I was slightly let down: The pickle flavor was not as intense as I had anticipated following my friend's reaction. In fact, I ultimately decided the slush tasted more like a lemon lime Gatorade than a pickle, but it did have some pickle flavor to it. Even though I was disappointed in the lack of brine-y pickle flavor, its taste was decent. I did also appreciate that it was different... not just another blue raspberry or cherry or lime. It's a shame your restaurant in Audubon, NJ is a disaster. I pulled into the drive thru at 4pm today. There were 4 cars in front of me. By the time I got to the area to place my order, it was 4:20pm. And what do I find? A handwritten sign that said no grilled items, only fried stuff. Well 20 minutes in line to leave with nothing since I was ordering 2 double sonic smashers and 2 vanilla shakes. Unacceptable. There should be a sign placed someone further out because in their drive thru, once you get to a certain point, you cant get out of line due to the concrete barriers. At the window they told me that the wait for fresh tenders would be about 3 minutes, no problem, fresh tenders for the lucky guy! After a short wait i received my tenders, I took 2 ravenous bites before sinking my teeth into that savory, rubbery pink center. Not realizing chicken is ordered To-Temp at this establishment, I pull back around drive thru and request they be remade well done (at least medium well.) After taking a couple bites i realized I could taste pickle reminiscents, I lifted the bun and bacon and saw where the pickles were. I had to pop an epipen because of this allergy. Ok so I pull into sonic on a Sunday morning and was the only car at the window. I order a simple order, Nothing crazy. When I get to the window to pay I pay then wait there a few. They give me my food and say goodbye but then I notice wait I didn't get my coffee. I beep twice and nothing. Then finally minutes later they come to the window with my coffee which I asked for cream and sugar. She hands me the coffee lid is halfway on and it spills a bit on me and I notice the coffee is black so I ask for cream and sugar and she tells me they can't put it in so I said well ok fine but I still need it. She then proceeds to walk to the back and get me the sugar then tells me the other worker has to get me the creamers. Mind you the place is empty and why is everything being done by separate people and at separate times. The entire place was empty so I don't understand why they did it the way they did. My husband and I pulled up to a spot to order curbside. We pressed the button and were in no hurry , so we waited about 5 minutes. No response. So we opted for drive thru line. I had an appointment and then a couple of errands to run and I was in the area and Chick-fil-A was packed as usual so I went to Sonic which is right next door to Chick on the Black Horse Pike. I ordered the 5 piece chicken tenders with fries, not tots, and a drink. what a mistake! it cost me almost $10 and it was the worst fast food I ever had. First, I only got 4 tenders but there was an onion ring in the box too, lol. The fries weren't bad but sort of cold! The tenders were disgusting, the breading was horrible! My dog was with me so I kept breaking up the tenders and giving him some of them. I took a bite out f the onion ring and the onion part all came out and all that was left was the breading. So last weekend the Hubs and I took a random trip from NYC out to Philly. We got a couple tickets to the Phillies game and spent the day exploring. And what better way to end a fantastic day than to stop off at Sonic (our first trip everrrr)! + Ten minute drive from Citizens Bank Park (Phillies!) + Open til midnight or laterrrrrr. Which is always awesome. The Chick-fil-a next door closed at 10. To make sure we got the full experience- we opted to pull up, park and order. + There are at least 16 or so drive in spots and a drive-thru. - But all of the cars in the lot couldn't reach the speakers. Are they supposed to? Even folks in the drive-thru were getting out of their cars to walk up to the speaker. Ordering is easy. Press the red button and wait for a response, which at 10:30pm only took a few seconds. +/- Payment is easy enough... credit card machine hooked up to the menu board. But can customers pay cash if they park/order? + Food delivery was very quick. It took about 2 minutes for our food to be brought out. And the gal was totally on roller-blades. + When we asked for some extra mustard/ketchup it arrived in less than a minute. + When he came out he told us to "have a super sonic night" and then "be careful cause your taste buds might explode." So he obviously gets a + for making us laugh. We spent about $10 and happily ate the following: + Golden crispy tots (medium order) + Juicy crispy chicken sandwich +/- Pretzel Hot Dog (nice pretzel bun, but small dog). +/- A couple super thick milkshakes. (So good!) + Half-price milkshakes after 8pm. And they really do have 25 flavors to try. Overall our trip to Sonic was pretty awesome. Food & service were both great. It was worth the detour and should I ever go to a Phillies game again- I'll definitely be back to this location. Oh! I wish zero stars was an option. My girlfriend and I stood in line at the drive-thru for 20 minutes, just to get to the window for someone to rudely say, "we close at 10!" and nothing else. We were in line way before closing time. Someone should have come out and told the customers that you close at 10pm. The people in front of us were able to order after 10pm too. The message could have been delivered more professionally like, "I'm sorry, we close at 10pm." Its best practice to inform your customers that you are closed if you have people waiting and not to be so rude in delivering bad news. read more

I've been to this location several times and it's okay as long as you don't do the drive thru. My goodness.. the wait time is about 20-30 minutes. They handed me the wrong food several times, had trouble with their payment system. I can tell that the cars ahead of me had similar issues. Got two hot dogs, fries, apple slices and two drinks for $9. We ordered at a pull-up window, reviewed the menu and had our order promptly delivered to the car. The server was well prepared and very nice. The hot dogs were carefully packaged and tasty all beef. Fries were fresh and hot and a little on the salty side (but I like that). They do have bathrooms, but didn't use them. Unlike many fast food places, this meal didn't give me a bellyache. The only negative is the location, which is sandwiched behind a Chick-Fil-A and a strip mall. But hey, you're eating in your car, what kind of a view were you expecting? So, adding to my previous review. This Sonic drive in is good during the day, but it seems the later it gets the lazier the kitchen staff gets. I tested this theory a couple of times myself. The food and especially the drinks were awful. One drink had maybe three squirts of the flavor and the other drinks I purchased were just as awful. I like to get there earlier in the evening so it's not really a problem for me. I just needed to find out what the past reviews were about. Get your act together Sonics or you will be run out of Jersey. Keep the quality of food consistent from open to close or just get a new manager (obviously one of them aren't doing their job) or a whole new kitchen staff for the late evening. Keep the people happy. We don't expect to get blown away. We just want to feel like we didn't waste our money or a trip. So, in short I would not recommend going in the late evening, but I do recommend going anytime before 7pm. So, it's still a five stars any time before 7pm. read more

I inform Jimmy (name tag) who was working the drive through window of what I saw, he said that the owner makes them recycle cups that they use and if they don't recycle the cups they are charged 10 cents out of their pockets. My first time at this location was at night right before closing. Since they were closing I got what was left over on the grill. Everything was cold, burger, fries, and tots. My second trip, except for the lady in the drive-thru who had no idea what she wanted and asked a ton of questions, the experience was much better. The food was warm and sloppy like a Sonic burger should. Now I have eaten at better Sonics in Edison and Howell NJ, but since this is the one in the area it will do. read more

I was there on Thursday evening. My experience was horrible. I love Sonic and when I go there I expect decent service. We decided to do the Drive in. First it took a long time for some to take our order. When my daughter was done ordering the server quickly gave her the total due. We weren't done ordering. I hadn't ordered my food. So we have to push the red button again. Again a long time for someone to take my order. When we received the order, my onion were not fresh. They looked like the left over batch from a previous order and they were over done. I've gone multiple times and they didn't have onion rings. This is my FAVORITE food at Sonic, so needless to say, I was very disappointed. They could have been under staffed because there wasn't that many cars there.
