Went here to get an m&m blast and a banana milkshake for my son and i. When the employee handed me my blast i thought it looked different amd i asked "this is m&m right?" He said yes it is. So me and my son deove away. We live 4 minutes away so we didnt even try our shake and blast til we got home and they were both wrong. Both of them were some kind of peanut butter. I am sitting at the drive thru window of the Sonic located at 8821 Farrow Road, Columbia, SC 29203 after sitting in a stall for 15 minutes with no one answering the button. As I pulled around the back of the store, two employees came running out laughing and playing at chasing each other. I pulled up to the window in time to see those same two inside the store still playing, joking, laughing, looking right at me in the window, but neither them or two others acknowledging my presence. It's 8:45 pm Wed 4/28/25 and employees are ignoring customers. I have a video taken of them ignoring me while I sat at the window being ignored. There were two others I could see inside, but only was working at refiling the syrup bottles. The others were doing nothing, but horse playing. Finally drove off. So shameful. I've never written a bad review before, but this Sonic really earned it. We ordered ahead and the "estimated time" came and went -- by over 40 minutes. Finally, I went inside to ask about the order, and they hadn't even started it. We were one of only two customers there, so there wasn't even a rush to blame it on. This Sonic as I have read have very bad reviews and it seems it has not been corrected. I went to Sonic before going to work and I ordered a double smash burger combo. When I finally open the bag the french fries were stuck together and had a bad odor as if the fries were freezer burnt, the burger tasted old and the soda was beyond flat. It seems the employees also the manager are not doing their job. Anything that is old should've been thrown out and the filters on the soda machines needs to be changed. Maybe DHEC needs to be notified and go to this location undercover to see what is going on at this fast food restaurant because this is beyond ridiculous to pay $12.64 for awful food that ended up in the trash can because it was not edible. We stopped on our way through the area. I would never eat food from a place with a bathroom this neglected and disgusting. The toilet seat was falling off, none of the supplies were stocked, and there was trash and filth all over the bathroom. It looked like no one had cleaned or checked it for months. I stopped at this Farrow road location and pulled into the drive thru around midnight. When I got to the speaker the young man taking my order simply repeated the word "Order". He rudely said this several times. When I asked of he was serious he then replied "order your food" in a loud and rude tone. There was no welcome to sonic... no how can I help you...all he said through the speaker to me was "Order" several times and then "Order your foooooood". It was very upsetting. I just drove away. I don't know who that young man was and I don't know what is going on at this location but someone who has some authority should consider looking into the current staff and why this type of thing is happening...seems to be several bad reviews for rude service. I am a little disappointed in this trip to Sonic. There weren't any cars in the drive thru, but I was asked to wait for several minutes before ordering (they may have been training new staff). I ordered a #5 with large tots and a sweet tea. The tots were cold and didn't have any salt on them. I'm not sure how long they had been sitting out but they weren't even slightly warm. The Texas toast on the chicken sandwich was cooked too long and almost burned. The chicken itself was slightly warm. The sweet tea was good though. Hopefully this was a one time experience but I would have liked warm food. read more

went to sonic bc i really love their fries and convince my wife to try it even though she doesnt like sonic. got to the window and order my food. got a number 12 with loaded fries and a milkshake and my wife got buffalo boneless wings with fries and a milkshake. price came to 38.50 which is insane for the quality of the food and the amount of time it took. took so long i was told by employees to move my car and move to where i was blocking the drive thru. i had cars stop by me asking if i was ok.(basically to move) the price of the shitty food and the amount of time i had to wait to get the bad quality food will never make me go to a sonic ever AGIAN read more

So I usually frequent this store maybe 2-3 times a week for breakfast. The best crew they've ever had was moved to another store. Today I got a chilly cheese Cony. My Chili Dog was raw. Like thy threw it in the water for 5 minutes. I call the store to let them know. The phone just rings and rings. Finally someone picks up then hangs up. I call back and now the phone is off the hook. Guess I'll have to go back to the store and take them their raw Chili Dog back!!! I'm about to not patronize this store anymore. If I could give zero stars I would. On 10/10/18 at around 1am my girlfriend and I left our apartment for late night food. After our order was taken and paid for at the window the cashier promptly put a "closed for 15min" sign at the window and left the building. Perplexed, I walked to the door to find out if we had to, in fact, wait at the window for 15 minutes. The cook had no clue where the cashier went and told us he could not open the register to refund our money. A few minutes later the cashier can be seen walking from across the street. As she returns to us, obviously unhappy, she frankly responds that she was "bleeding out of her pussy" and that's why she had to leave offering no explanation. She then acted as if we were crazy for wanting our money back and told us that she needed the drink back for a full refund. After all the trouble she put us through I found great satisfaction in throwing the drink on the ground and forfeiting that refund. Don't waste time or money here. read more

The service hasn't been bad in the past but last night they had some clown taking the orders. He tried to talk real fast but wound up sounding like some kind of jabbering fool. I had to repeat my order about five times. I ordered a 'number 7' combo. Easy enough for a toddler to understand; once shown the pictures. Once I get to the window I asked a girl there to repeat my order so there's no confusion. She read back that I wanted a 'number 7 hotdog.' I said that I didn't want any hotdog, I wanted a chili dog - that's what a number 7 is... per the menu pictures. Enough on that. I waited a while longer as they had to add chili and cheese to the - hotdog. Now for the good part. I ordered the cheesesteak also. This was by far the nastiest "cheesesteak" that I've ever had in my life! It was made with little black rawhide chips; like beef jerky 'cept beef jerky is a whole lot better. It had some little drizzle of yellow/white stuff that was supposed to be cheese. The bread was just an old, dry, flavorless roll like something you'd find on a shelf in a nickel and dime store. Their burgers and are pretty good - that's why the two stars. However, as far as novelty items, they can forget it. Hopefully the service was just a little off for that night. If it happens again I won't even come back for an occasional burger. read more

The receipt was correct but the order was not. We got someone else's food. Wasted $20 at this location. The manager did not return my phone call. Sonic! My southern hot spot. I came here while in town for work, and talk about friendly service. This is what I miss the most these days, and it's not regional! Ordering was a snap, and my food was delivered quickly. My car hop took a few moments to even make small chat after making sure I had everything I needed. The food was hot, tasty, and was consistent with the Sonic brand. The only thing slightly odd was the parking layout means you can get blocked in at the drive in by the drive through line if it snakes around and gets backed up. read more
