Love this place! The quality, taste, and generous portion just makes this place my go to ice cream shop whenever I'm visiting Columbia. First off, they are open very late on the weekends which is a plus. There's an abundant amount of flavors, cones, and topping to mix match. Not feeling the icecream? They got plenty of different shakes on their menu as well. For icecream I recommend going with the "Best Value" scoop. It's simple huge. I got the strawberry with strawberry fruit as a mix in on a waffle cone. If you see my picture uploaded, the size difference between the small on the left vs the "Best Value" on the right is significant with a minor price difference. Grabbed some ice cream with my tiny human. Ordered two banana splits. One with and one without bananas. They took the longest to make but the parents were happy with their frozen treats. Also ordered a bubblegum ice cream for my tiny and butter pecan for myself. They staff was composed of all high school students. I've been coming here since I was younger for the cookies and the sugar cookies are always my favorite the flavor never changes and it makes me see stars every bite I take out of them it's so good. And the seats give me a pretty okay view so I can see the outside. read more

My baby wanted ice cream for a few days and I didn't want to journey to ColdStone Creamy. We made a stop at Marble Slab and it hit the spot. Normally the place is packed with the mall or movie crowd but we lucked up and there was absolutely no one in the store when we came in. By the time we left the traffic picked up but thank God we got there before the rush. Cameron took our order and made my baby's day. She was friendly and I got Snickerdoodle cookies (my fav), my baby got vanilla w/gummy bears and my princess got cookie and cream ice cream. We have been to this Marble Slab several times! It's a Sunday tradition for us now. We usually go in the evening, but this time we went in the afternoon. The line was extremely long. I got the regular size butter pecan with pecan mix ins. I'm always pleased with the taste of the ice cream. You can taste test flavors before you decide and mix ins are unlimited. The staff is usually teenagers, but they always seem efficient and friendly to me. I wish there were more spaces to sit inside, but there are benches nearby outside, which is fine for now because the weather isn't too extreme. read more

Well, this happened to be our place of choice because we try to avoid chain stores as much as possible. This place happened to be a little under our expectations but it was still a good experience. The workers looked completely overwhelmed. There were even workers expressing to customers that they were tired and to get them a second to pull themselves together. That was a first for me. The team, however, was very nice. The ice cream was delicious. The prices are great for the amount of ice cream and the multiple combinations that you can create. Came to get some ice cream on a busy Saturday evening. The line went very quick with them having 6 workers making the ice cream and one checking you out. There system was efficient and effect. The smiles and welcoming greeting I received from the young lady making my ice cream was a nice gesture. I didn't catch her name, but she was phenomenal. Her customer service skills were excellent. The young lady at the counter had a terrible attitude. Her rude expression and snarky comments were not pleasant. Not very fun to deal with on a happy ice cream date. Online it says closing time is 11pm. My husband and I drove 30 minutes to make it there before they closed and walked in at 10:32. We were refused service, with a man ordering at the counter and 10+ people eating at the tables. We explained that we had driven far, many people were there, and closing time is listed at 11. She seemed happy to avoid doing her job and that's a fair assumption to make, as it's not my first time noticing it at this location and I've heard the same from other people. Please don't work in the service industry if it's hard for you to maintain basic people skills. read more

I am for certain that I've left a review for this location about two or three years ago but it just disappeared. Well I'll leave it again. Location is great and the ice cream is always great. The seating on the inside is uncomfortable and awkward. We we stop by we rather sit outside on the benches. Staff are not as friendly whenever I stop by. When our Army Chaplain class had a graduation celebration the Marble slab was there. And let me tell you they were great. The cost was totally affordable and the owners were so cool to the kids of the soldiers. We all had a good time. Oh and the ice cream was delicious. I absolutely LOVE this place HOWEVER, today I was greeted with the rudest employee ever. I come and order the exact same thing just about once a week. Today I was told that my request couldn't be granted and when asked for a manager, of course one wasn't "available". My suggestion is to hire staff that actually know how to greet customers and instead of saying something can't be done just b/c they are unaware, find out and try to keep your customers happy. They pray that customers don't come in and huff & puff when you do,then they use bad language describing their bosses and coworkers loudly in front of children, likely the attitude that has you posting a "help wanted " sign on your front door . I think I may have bored her :/ but the customers were very friendly, so they saved the day experience wise. The ice cream itself is definitely pricey, we spent just as much here as we do most froyo places. TIP: don't get the waffle cone cup. I was so excited to see the refurbished decor and thought it might pep up the staff and maybe entice them to keep it cleaner....not so much. I am a FIRM believer that customer service can make or break a business and this is one whose service takes a backseat to the power-tripping management who is too young and inexperienced to know she's not leadership material quite yet. Too much horse play and not enough upkeep. The ice cream is fine...but if it's sliding off the cone because they aren't paying attention to the customer...it doesn't make for a positive experience. Recommendation: bring in some more mature management or bring the owner in to see the operation first hand for a while. read more
