I have not been to Sonic in a long time and was able to stop by this location on the way home. It's been a LONG time since I've had Sonic so I was very glad to try it again. I ordered the Double Bacon Cheeseburger with tots and a cherry slushie (my go to order). I have to say, the burger itself was very good! I would even so it is better than 5 Guys. The slushie - also amazing. The tots were good, but a little too salty for me. Plus, they give you some peppermint candies as an additional treat - so cool! I just did the simple drive thru where you park your car and press the red button and the order comes to you! I wish there was a Sonic closer to me, haha. Overall, a solid place and definitely would come again if the location was closer. The only downside for me, was the restroom itself needed to be cleaned a bit more. I have read bad reviews of this Sonic, so we have steered clear of this, one of our favorite fast food joints. We tried it last night and we were very pleased. From ordering to getting food in my car, it was seven minutes. Our order was correct and tasted good. Our tater tots were not "out of the fryer" hot, but they were still warm enough to enjoy. I have tried the Sonic in Hagerstown seveal times now and the service is awful! If you go to one of the stalls, it takes 20-30 minutes for a simple ice cream. At the drive up, the food is barely warm at best. It has multiple awful reviews...can't believe people still go here. read more

One thing about me is that if there's a corn dog on the menu, I'm getting it! As far as fast food goes, this sonic met almost all of my expectations. Ordering was quick, though the screen didn't work very well when I was trying to pay, the tip screen froze and somehow I was still able to leave a tip, which was well deserved. Our food was out in less than 5 minutes and our server was very nice. My only unmet expectation was that there was no mustard or ketchup in our bag! We could have called them back to the car but it had started to rain after our food was delivered. I enjoyed my corn dog and the fries, the cheese was set in place on the fries, so it was nice that they included a fork because otherwise it would have been more of a challenge to eat. Grew up in NM and always loved Sonic. I relocated to Maryland and was so excited there was a Sonic on Dual Highway not far from my Hagerstown home. Until 10:10pm on 2/10/2025. Placed my usual order half of which was delivered by an Uber driver at phone number (628) 241-4293 named Sano. The burgers were dry, the fries were so depressed that they ended their own lives early on through their commute, and I never even received the strawberry shake that my account was charged almost $10 for...for a milk-shake. I love Sonic. But, they are dead to me. You'd feel the same if I had the option of posting these disgusting photos of what was thrown on near my doorstep. Shame on you. read more

The service was horrible. After waiting for an hour for my food I went to ask the worker about how much longer it will take. The worker did not respond. A few minutes later I reminded them it's now been over an hour and still waiting for my food, it was at this point that the informed me that my order was given to a door dash deliver. I said well I paid over $50 for my food and I still need it. I was told they would remake the order. Another hour went by before they actually gave me my food. Ugh. This place was below standards even for a fast food chain. They were out of eclipse glasses which is why we went, but I get it. Limited supply. But they were also out of sprinkles for the milk shake, out of chicken tenders (!), out of bread for the grilled cheese and offered to make it on hamburger buns, and out of Oreos for the Oreo shake. I'm assuming they were short staffed because they had one person running around delivering food so it took more than 20 min to get food delivered and then another 15 min waiting at the board to even order. Meanwhile cars are driving thru the drive through consistently. At least the guy did come on the speaker to let us know we were on his radar otherwise I'd have thought the button was broken. If we find a Sonic while we travel, I love stop there. We found this one near I-70 and 40 near Hagerstown. I ordered a number 2 combo, which is a double quarter pound cheeseburger (1/2 lb. total) with lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup and mayonnaise. I normally get onion rings as a side, but I chose French fries this time. Washed all down with a refreshing iced tea. Everything was delicious. Went through the drive-through. I was the ONLY customer there. Nobody else in the drive-through, not a single car in any of the stalls. I ordered a slushy, two medium chocolate trick or treat blasts, and two pup cups. It took close to TEN minutes to get my order. When I returned home, I realized that the two chocolate trick or treat blasts were merely two medium cups of soft serve. One had SOME of the advertised mix ins. The other blast had a minimal amount of itty bitty Oreo pieces, five caramel filled chocolate candies (yes, I counted) that didn't even belong in it, ZERO M&Ms and ZERO Heath bar. Super disappointed! I mentioned this to somebody else and they said "ya, that Sonic really s*cks. They always get something wrong with an order". Explains the 1.9 stars! Shameful! read more

My husband and I couldn't remember why we never went back to Sonic.. I'm sure it was the food, but this time it was the woman at the drive-through. She was completely rude from the beginning. What made us leave was when she asked "what side," we thought she said "what size?!" When she repeated what she said the first time, she had a worse attitude towards us, yelling into the intercom at us! We got out of line and went to another place to eat. We just went through the drive through to get our food. It took approximately 25 minutes from the time our order was taken until the time we received our food. The store was out of all diet syrups, cherry syrup, and root beer. We ordered a chicken sandwich which was still frozen, the cheese fries tasted like metal, and the limeades tasted like river water. This has always been our stop after one of my daughter's dr appts, a nice cool drink to ease a scratchy, sore throat. Not anymore. Placed order through the app for two milkshakes & three slushies, arrived more than 25 minutes later (so plenty of time for them to prepare order). Pulled into stall & checked in on my phone as the app requests. Sat for twelve minutes before I finally pushed the menu call button (I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, obviously TOO much in this case) Server arrives with two of the five drinks & says, "Just so you know, we have no idea anyone is here unless you press the call button". I tell him they should consider putting a sign somewhere so customers are aware of this & don't sit there endlessly waiting for someone who is never going to come. Something tells me my advice was not taken, lol. Server returned several minutes later with the three other drinks. He was nice enough but seriously, it's not rocket science. I've worked as a server, I get it, but this is not how service is supposed to be. My opinion, this is a result of tipping BEFORE service. I'm over this backward practice. Food is always cold and every time I go to this location they screw up my order. Last time i was there I ordered a chicken sandwich. I ate my tots in the car as soon as I left and they were cold af. Since November of 2018 when I moved to Hagerstown, I've been to this location on FIVE separate times and EACH and EVERY TIME they have gotten my order wrong. Looking at some of the other reviews left on Google and Yelp, problems at this location are an ongoing issue. Is it lack of training or or an I don't give a good you know what attitude? I'm gonna lean towards I don't give a good blank attitude. How can you possibly read the order back and you are told TWICE, NO CHEESE. and you acknowledge it and still put CHEESE on the darn thing!! Let this be a warning to all future customers, it would be a safe bet that they are going to get your order wrong!! Stopped for late lunch...had to turn around twice to get to turn restaurant due to difficulty of getting in parking from split highway and no rear entrance clearly marked. Store was packed in the stalls and drive thru line was out of the parking lot. Why did I get stone cold food, and tea was bad...tasted like old stale tea had a sour after taste. Probably not washing the tea container out properly. Food was terrible I requested salt and pepper and when ic allied for it i was treated like a burden. They brought out. Bag of ketchup. A whole bag with 13 packs of ketchup. When I looked inside and said I asked for salt and pepper she acted again like I was a burden. Several minutes later I got handed a several packs of salt and pepper that were dirty and stuck together. No thanks. We went there tonight for milkshakes and when we got home my husband realized that his large banana milkshake was half whipped cream and overly ripe bananas that were almost black. Sat at the drive in screens for over 30 minutes. I pressed the button for service, it said someone would be with me soon. I waited for forever even though they weren't busy, until the screen went back to the Home Screen, pressed the button again and then was instantly answered with a "please come around to the drive thru thanks." Nothing like a Sonic for an unplanned road trip to Kentucky. But they're great for planned trips too! Conveniently located off the interstate, this location has plenty of parking stalls and offers a drive-thru. Park to the right upon entering and the restrooms are located on that side of the building. The bacon pretzel cheese dog is the bomb but get it without onions unless you want to scare away people. ;) read more
