My club sandwich. The bread was noteworthy and I brought half of this sandwich home with me.

We've visited J's Diner twice now; once for breakfast and once for lunch. For a little place in a strip mall, J's has outdone themselves. Our waitress was brand new and we had her both times we visited. She was sweet and inexperienced, but she will get better. Breakfast is a little pricey, but the portions are big and it's not your usual breakfast offerings. The menu is varied and offers something for everyone whether it's a to-die-for latte, a traditional breakfast, muffins, pancakes, etc. Next time we go for breakfast, I'll be ordering the billionaire bacon, toast and some cheese and making my own little sandwich at the table! You certainly won't go away hungry, you'll be able to skip lunch and go straight to dinner ... in a few hours

This was a really good breakfast spot! The service was good and we enjoyed both the coffee and crab hash that we tried. Definitely want to go back to this trendy looking spot!

A playful vibe greets you at the door and continues into the menu! Indulgent, tasty, and fun! The staff is attentive and the coffee refreshes are just right. We will definitely be returning soon!

I enjoy this neighborhood diner, it feels like I'm sitting in someone's cocina. The coffee is delicious. The food always appeals to my tastebuds and the service never disappoints. The atmosphere and ambiance is always calming and welcoming.

We came here for breakfast on June 10 and we were disappointed with the service. We were seated at 1050 am, but fid not receive our food until 1140 am. The service person stated normally there are four cooks; however, they were only 2 cooks that day. My wife ordered the huevos rancheros trio. The food was cold. Plate was not even warm. I had the morning jump start and an English muffin. The morning jump start was good and I enjoyed it. The morning jumpstart comes with toast, layered with almond butter. However, I did not receive my toast until after I paid the bill when another server brought the almond butter toast to our table. To summarize, it took a long time to receive our food and when we did, the huevos rancheros trio dish was cold and I did not receive my almond butter toast until after we had paid the check. My last review merited 4 stars, however, with turnover of staff the quality of service and food has degraded.

Food and drinks are amazing, I had the vanilla Chai and Huevos Rancheros trío. Very delicious, friendly staff, and clean tables outside, great music. Everything was ruined by a check, the person took my card and charged my card someone' else's tab which was $60+ vs my $40+ meal, then tried to get me to sign my name under the other person's ticket. This became a huge issue for me, I went inside and they had voided out but still wanted me to pay the other ticket with a discount on it which was a few cents higher than my original ticket. This upsetted me further when I brought to their attention and they gave me a quarter as if few cents difference was my issue when it is the principle of doing the right thing, charge me for what I ate and charge it correctly. This place would have gotten 5 stars but their customer service needs immediate improvement from the cashier standpoint.

Came here upon a recommendation- and WOW! Would not have tried it based on the outside. So glad we did! It's a gem of a place Our server was very friendly and sweet. We had vanilla chai topped with cinnamon & a latte to start. It might have been the best chai I've ever had! They were playing funky Christmas music- that matched the vibe. It looked like they had remodeled, or at least updated the decor recently. We will definitely come again - and highly recommend to anyone in the area.

J's Diner Hagerstown Maryland 12/22/23 11:57am Walked into a crowded diner but was able to get seated immediately. The waitress also came pretty quick. Ordered the French toast deluxe . Food came out fairly quick considering the crowd. Eggs over medium- the whites were cooked a little too crispy but it was ok Sausage patties- not feeling the sausage at all. It taste fake. That's The only way I can describe it Fried potatoes with extra onions - very tasty French toast - although the bread is big, it's very light. So not so filling but still very good. Sweet tea - I did not care for the sweet tea and I sent it back and got a Diet Coke instead. But I also know I'm in Maryland and they're not known in the area and further up north for sweet tea so I'm not mad.

The side of bacon was disappointing... the stuffed French toast was tasty! My server was pleasant.... I had to send the potato bites back to the kitchen...

Until next time with my parents.

The venue can be overwhelming, with lots of choices. One section of the menu was dedicated to hotdogs, one section is dedicated to non-hotdog entrées, and also Appetizers, desserts, and drinks. The dogs here are amazing! I loved the Chicago dog, but when I had my a bite of the Big Mac dog I wished I got that one too. Then we had the pastrami dog making it a three dog night. The fries are also especially delicious because they are crunchy and battered. My little one had a kids meal that came with fries and he was forced to share. With any hotdog, you get your choice of beef,/chicken, or veggie. We went beef all the way, and it was a great choice. The dogs are split and grilled on a flat top, and maintain all of their juicy goodness. And the toppings just enhanced everything. If you're a hotdog purist, ketchup and relish or mustard and onions would also make for perfect dogs. The staff was friendly and super accommodating to a feral toddler. For three hotdogs, a kids meal, I need rings, and drinks, the $40 price felt like a bargain. Great quality and value.

Husband got the foot long coney dog and my son got a sausage with some kind of sauce on it. I eat about 2 hot dogs a year so when I say it was delicious, I mean it. Now the bad. My 4 year old grandson got grilled cheese. It took forever for the food to come out. Like forever forever. He ate like nothing bc he drank his whole drink while we were waiting as we had been at the park for a couple of hours beforehand. I know, not unusual for a little guy. That's not the real problem. I got a side of onion rings and it was almost $5 for like 6 onion rings. Ketchup in little packets... not cost efficient and annoying for us. Had to track down waitress to get husband a second beer and me a first. There was no air conditioning and it was so hot in there!! AND THE WORST THING OF ALL... WHEN THE BILL CAME THERE WAS A 20% INCLUDED GRATUITY FOR "LARGE PARTY", which was not discussed. First of all, it was 4 ppl. That is not a large party. Second of all, this was not mentioned by staff. I see this sometimes with a group of 8 or more and it is usually noted in a menu somewhere or mentioned. But 4 people is not a large party. My husband and I both worked in the restsurant industry in our younger years. We get it, servers need to be taken care of, but come on. BEWARE. I would have gone back for that hot dog even with the sloooowww service and just not gotten a side, but that automatic gratuity thing is ridiculous. Customer lost.

I love fried chicken sandwiches, and I love crabcakes, so the Chesapeake Sandwich jumped out the menu--a combo sandwich of both!... and $15? Sign me up. The chicken was super moist on the inside, crispy and well seasoned on the outside. The crabcake was almost all crabmeat as well, which was delicious! My wife got a chicken taco salad, which came in a tortilla bowl and was also very good (with very well cooked chicken on top). My only complaint: the fries were a bit under-done. They also do 5oz samples of beer on draft, which was very nice for when you don't want a whole drink.

These wings were no joke, I did the buffalo wild wings inferno challenge twice without milk, it took 3 cups of milk to get through 5 of the 8 and I tapped out.
