Fries could have been a tad bit better like given me a fresh batch instead of the bottom of the frying rack but otherwise it's all good. Not a fan of the groovy sauce. App tells you to park at a stall for mobile orders. The app doesn't tell you to come through the drive thru instead at whatever time they close the stalls. I can't blame the restaurant for that. I love the endless deals from Sonic and to be able to order and get deals online instead of just only on an app is amazing please stay this way!! I have had many different drinks but the Bourbon Caramel Iced Coffee was one I had to make another review for. We stopped by Sonic Drive-In on our way back home from The Bay yesterday for a late lunch. It had been a while since we'd visited as Sonic Drive-In's aren't on every street corner like most fast food places. I ordered the 6 inch Coney and a small Dr. Pepper Float. I used to order the Coney and Tots every time I visited years ago so it almost felt nostalgic to order it again - it tasted just how I remember. I highly recommend getting a float with Dr. Pepper - so good! My husband got one of their Smash Burgers and chili cheese tots and my daughter got a hamburger with chili cheese fries. They both said their food was just okay. Service was quick and friendly and we always love parking in one of the the drive-up machine spots and eating in the car. We usually stop in Lathrop for a quick bite on our way to the Bay Area. We had not been to a Sonic in years and decided to give it a shot. We ordered the Sonic Double Smasher combo and regular double cheeseburger. I was pretty disappointed tbh. The meat was tasteless for both burgers unfortunately. I felt McDonalds burgers have way more flavor than these. The fries were the crinkly kind which were good BUT we must have received the bottom of the batch because every single fry was one inch long or less. Really hard to dip your fries in sauce or ketchup when they are that short. This was a let down and is probably my last visit ever to a Sonic. read more

We stopped here close to midnight the other day desperately in need of some food and sugar. I don't frequent Sonic so I was overwhelmed by their menu; there are so many options! I settled on a BLT with tots and a soda but my husband wanted their giant bacon cheeseburger with tots and a grape slush with Nerds candy in it as his drink. Wow. We ordered at the drive through and the very patient employee that took my order greeted us warmly. She saw our little dog in the backseat and was so sweet to her! She chatted her up and complimented her and even gave her some whipped cream with peanut sauce drizzled on it! She was so lovely and her kindness just made our night! There will be no photos of tots attached to this review because they were promptly eaten and there was no time for pictures. I so rarely get tots and they were crispy and salty outside and warm and soft inside. 10/10 for sure. I also really appreciated how everything was neatly packaged and labeled so it was easy to know what belonged to who. We also enjoyed the rest of our meal, although I think the bread on my BLT would be more suited to a grilled cheese so I will try that next time. That grape slush with Nerds was something else...so sweet and so sour at the same time and yet despite squinting my eyes, I could not stop drinking it. This location is clean, well lit, has lots of parking and so many different food options to choose from. I confirmed my order more than three times, yet when the food was brought out, items were still missing. I politely explained that I was missing a shake and asked the staff member to check with Marie, the person who originally took my order. Instead of fixing the mistake, I was met with attitude and the response: "So do you want to order another one or not?" After confirming my order multiple times, this was extremely frustrating. When Marie finally came on the speaker, she simply added it on as though I hadn't already ordered it. At this point, I decided I no longer wanted the shake and asked for a refund. The food was pretty good! They have burgers were fresh and the fries were perfectly salty. I usually order through the part where you park and you order through the speaker and they deliver the food to your car. The milkshakes have a LOT of sugar, but are very tasty and delicious! They haven't been open a year yet and the staff is doing great in an area that has had exponential growth with the new River Islands community nearby. I'm happy they opened a new Sonic here in Lathrop. I will say they need more staff with experience, patience and who know how to handle situations under pressure. Customer service is very important being in the fast food industry. It seems like they just hired teenagers or adults who don't know to properly speak to paying customers.
