I had read on social media that new owners took this place over so we wanted to give them our support and try them out! We are so glad we did! It is too bad that Yelp doesn't provide a new page for the new owners because this place deserves way more than two stars overall. We were told that we could get FREE refills on our sodas to just ask for them (we dined in). I have other reviews stating this was not the case from previous owners. When we picked up our food from the counter she offered us ranch, bbq sauce, and ketchup all for no additional charge! I ordered The Big Boss Combo, the patty was huge! I barely ate a few fries although they were cooked perfectly and tasted great, I was too full from this huge burger! My date got the double burger but I forgot to grab a photo. The dining room had obviously been cleaned (deep cleaned) since the last time we came last year. Nothing new in there just very deeply cleaned! It gives that old school ambiance of an old drive up diner where waitresses came out to your car on skates to take your order. Please give this local small business and new owners a try! So this is the second time I've tried this place. The people working have always been nice and helpful. They're getting good help. The food not so much. It's not bad tasting or totally horrible - but it feels like the flavor is missing. The burger I had was cooked fine but the flavor was not there - it wasn't bad - just more like not strong enough - like flavor lite. The vanilla milkshake I had with the burger tasted watered down- need more vanilla. The second time I went I ordered a root beer freeze. The freeze was nice and cold - which is great on a hot summer day - but the root beer flavor - kinda MIA ( Missing In Action). New management here at the Foster free in Manteca and so far it has been 100% improvement longer hours better service food is even better. They open until 10 PM every day now hopefully they'll date their hours if you were getting the foster freeze hamburgers before and they were extremely small just FYI now they're back to the correct size huge and getting really good food for not a lot of money.! the guy I believe he's Filipino that works there. I don't know his name so that's why I'm putting it out there like that is awesome. Foster freeze was a staple growing up for my family. So I thought I'd bring my family now that I have one. This place is never busy and that's for a reason, because it's really bad. The food we ordered was awful, not sure how you can screw up a cheeseburger and fries meal for kids. The burgers tasted really bad and the fries were also not good. Just thin burger that tasted old and disgusting. I got myself a chocolate and peanut butter milkshake and I've never had a bad milkshake. The entire milkshake was peanut butter with actual peanuts in it and not peanut butter. The store itself was dirty on the outside and gross on the inside. There were roaches crawling around the outside of the building so I'd hate to now what's lurking on the inside. I was ready for fish but didn't have the money to go to one of the Chinese restaurants that serve fish in the area. I decided to try this place because it was close to the skate park and others in the chain have been okay, if a little expensive. They had a fish & chips combo and I ended up ordering that instead of a burger. The people working there were really helpful and you could tell that they were genuine in their interest to get you what you wanted. It took a little while for the food, which is typical. I'm patient when getting something special. Sadly, it was very, very oily, as if the fryer oil had not been changed for days. It also seemed that the fish might have thawed at one point and had been re-frozen. Maybe, they just aren't busy enough. I want to return some time to try their burgers. read more

So we have a Foster Freeze in Los Angeles and their food is delicious just like they ice cream so we decided to give this place a shot. We should have saw the red flag when there was absolutely no customers there. We ordered the double cheeseburger with chili cheese fries and my daughter plain cheeseburger happy meal. Only thing that was good was the soda. Inside needs cleaning. Their cheese burger was so nasty. It was like they cooked the patty in water and not on the grill. Disgusting absolutely never again. How can you fail making a burger. And the chili cheese fries straight smelled like dog food...I will never again. I hate wasting money but for the first time I couldn't eat it. When we first walked in the smell of the place was a little weird but we still decided to order. My daughter decided to get a cookie dough twister but sadly it had a hair half way into the cup. The onion rings were the worst I've ever had. The oil they were cooked in must have not been changed in a long time. We literally only ate one and throw the rest away. Me and my boyfriend came here after a long camping trip, our first stop for ice cream in civilization. I ordered a chocolate dipped cone and he ordered a banana split and a fry. My chocolate dipped cone didn't even taste chocolatey , after a few bites I had him taste it to make sure I wasn't going crazy. It tasted off. the amount of nuts on top was so scarce I probably ten small bits . The ice cream itself tasted foamy and almost bitter. His banana split had hardly any chocolate sauce and his whipped cream looks runny, he said it tastes curdled like sour cream and his banana was a bit bruised. The fries tasted like they were fried in dirty oil. First off peanuts are cheap, and bananas are also cheap. This place needs to get their act together because I don't know how they're gonna be able to keep their doors open like that. We have been to other location in Lodi and have never had this kind of experience. We took a few bites and threw it all away. What a let down. Waste of $18 read more
