I love the foot long coney hotdogs. Good hamburgers. The frito chili wraps are awesome. Service is always great and it's pretty clean here as well. I like the sonic blasts and some of the limeades. But there is something off with either the ice or the carbonation. I don't know what it is but if you get a sprite or some other soft drink you can taste a weird taste. It's at all Sonic's. I wish Yelp had zero stars because that is what Sonic on 1st street in Kufkin would get. We pulled up today to get two small.chocolate milk shakes. The first order they tried to bring us was two large soft drinks and had nothing to do with shakes. Then they brought us out two large shakes and they were hit fudge with whip cream which we also asked not to have on top of the shakes. So we sent the two hot fudge Sunday shakes back and told them what we were supposed to have, CHOCOLATE SHAKES!! Well three minutes later they brought us back what we hoped were our chocolate shakes and all they did was take the whip cream off the hot fudge shakes, mix them up a little and bring them back. Like we wouldn't notice!! So we just took the shakes back inside ourselves and asked for a refund. How hard is it to make a chocolate shake?!? read more

As a former employee, do not eat here. We never cleaned the ice cream machine, maybe once every other month which resulted in a sour smell and gritty ice cream. The GM of this store takes out her anger on her employees, and shows favoritism a lot. I can't count how many times I've had things throw at me, whether it is a tray of food, or insults, it was not fun. I don't see why they let management get into peoples faces, spit on them, and cuss them out. After bringing the issues up to corporate many times, they didn't do anything, they care about the bottom line over anything. P.s. if you want to run a store, don't let your personal life ruin the atmosphere of the store, don't create a hostile work environment, and treat everyone as equals. I don't care what is going on, you do not degrade your employees simply because you are upset with how things are going outside of work. I genuinely hope things get fixed here, but I know in my heart this shit won't ever change, under paid workers will get subjected to the abuse all for a measly $5.15 an hour. This review is submitted reluctantly because the staff members were very apologetic and courteous. However, this issue has happened each time I've gone here, no matter what time of the morning or at lunch time. The ice cream machine is never on and it needs to be on a while before my order can be filled. That's ok. I don't mind waiting. A great Blast is worth the wait. However, when they bring out my Blast it is never frozen. It is already in the melted state. Very disappointing. I accepted it today only because the staff was so nice and it was part of my birthday celebration to get a Blast. But honestly, I'll most likely not return to Sonic again. Let's face it, Sonic is famous for their ice cream treats. Why isn't the ice cream machine turned on when the staff arrives? I don't imagine they wait until an order arrives for a burger to begin heating up the grill. read more

Ok...I keep saying that I am not going to come hereagain...but I did..I ordered a grilled cheese lightly toasted they give me a microwave grilled cheese! I ask for extra easy ice as usual. When the carhop brought it back inside I could see the woman who was filling drinks yelling and waving her arms. The manager then brought the drinks back out while going through this long thing about how they would have to charge extra. She gave me and my husband a tongue lashing. All they had to do was give me the option to pay extra or not...I haven't been there for a drink since. The shift manager as well as the person inside are extremely unprofessional.
