I was hoping to give a good review but I got Food poisoning. I was also reading the reviews and came across someone mentioning rotten food being delivered and accepted by the restaurant. I am hoping that is Not true. Also noticed, I think it was the owner, did not seem friendly at all. Tonight was my first and what will be my last time visiting this restaurant. There were 3 of us and 2meals came out. Let's say approximately 845 and at 9 o'clock we were still asking for our third meal.. I got the Italian trio which was raviolis ,tortellini, and lasagna.. The "slice " of lasagna was awful. It was like mush and the waitress said that always happens when they try and cut a piece off a main lasagna for the trio dish. "It never comes out right." the final straw was at the end of the meal and we all planned on getting dessert . So So we asked for coffee ,to which the waitress told us they were out of coffee and they never make it at night as people usually don't drink coffee at that time ,they only drink it in the morning.???? so the business lost out on three of us getting dessert and coffee. We just got the bill and left, but not before I spoke to the manager. Really poor experience. read more

We came on a busy night, I think maybe prom was going on but were seated within maybe 10 minutes which was super quick considering the circumstances. We were seated at a high top table and our waitress was also running the bar, not a great idea because after she took our order she never came back. Luckily the other servers were attentive so we didn't have issues with timing of anything coming out. After seeing so many 5 star reviews on Google and the bread being so good I had HIGH hopes. Once we got the calamari, I was so disappointed because it was so bland and probably top 3 of the worst I've had. For entree I got the lobster ravioli which was okay, but waaay too much sauce. I got an Italian margarita and espresso martini, those were both really good!! I probably wouldn't go back and if I were to crave Italian food, I'd just go to Olive Garden. Last time we dined at Roma I ordered a side Caesar with my dinner, I noticed right away it was regular salad mix. Tonight we stopped in for a bit, ordered my entree, and a side Caesar. Low and behold, I received a side salad with Caesar salad dressing. I don't understand, it's an Italian restaurant, and you charge 18 dollars a plate, serve the traditional salad. To be transparent, the salad was fresh, just not made with proper ingredients. If this is being done purposely, and I must assume it is, it's lazy management, period. My gosh people, Caesar salad is synonymous with Italian cuisine. If you can't make a proper salad, please don't offer it. read more

Roma Italian Bistro has been serving rotten produce to its customers. As a former employee, I saw first hand just how nasty that restaurant really is. last month when the health inspectors came Tony had his employees distract her while he went back and told his kitchen to clean up as fast as they could because of how discussing it is . they get weekly produce deliveries and every box that comes from the truck is rotten and we as employees are wxpected to feed that to our customers. When you bring these problems to the managers attention he will talk to you like your a complete idiot... which is my next point. Toni, talks to all of his employees as if they are second class citizens. I've on multiple occasions has guest complain to me about the way he talked to them or employees near. He has screamed and cussed me personally in front of my guests for simply not having plates on the tables( in the middle of shift change and there were no clean plates). he constantly threatens people's jobs and never holds the same policy for every employee. There are multiple employees still there with 5+ writeups yet the policy says 3. The tips collected from togo orders are not given to the host who have taken and prepared the orders. We were told that that money is supposed to cover our messups or voided meals that customers sent back. When in fact Toni makes us pay for our "mistakes". if you tell him that a customer wasn't satisfied with their food he almost always argues with you and suggest you don't know how to do your job. Nobody deserves to be in an environment where they are not respected and are taken advantage of daily. I wouldn't recommend giving this place any of your business and Definitely do not go work there. read more

Our granddaughter wanted Alfredo this weekend. Thought we would try a new Italian Restaurant. Everything was awesome! From arriving to our departure. From the Wonderful Staff , To the Friendly and Relaxing Atmosphere and Absolutely Delicious food. Three time Winner!! Mason Wilson made the experience even more enjoyable!! We were traveling from South Padre Island to home and stopped in Lufkin. We were looking for a pizza place and it was late, but we were welcomed at Roma even though they were about to close. We had a absolute fantastic server. He was so gracious and sweet. I had a Malbec wine that paired perfect with my pizza. The old Forrester old fashion was very very good being from Kentucky. This is perfect! It's a must! everyone in the restaurant was very sweet to us, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I highly recommend this place. It was a welcome place to eat for us travelers so far from our home in Kentucky. read more

Ii give it 4 because the staff was super kind and the person ensured we had plates and silverware. We took it to go on a horribly rainy day, but the cheese bread was very poor and would definitely not recommend. We moved to Lufkin in July. Tonight was our first time here! We would first like to compliment Reagan who was our server. When asked for her recommendations she without hesitation walked us through her favorites on all menu sub categories. She described sauces, textures, ordering options etc. Reagan had a great personality, great smile and was very attentive to our table needs. She also offered dessert before the check was delivered to the table (many places rush you out) So the food???? Wonderful! We shared the oil dipping sauce with the complimentary rolls, I had the Rigatoni and my wife had the Chef Special. A different gentleman approached our table with a smile and enthusiasm and asked how we were~food etc. The restaurant was busy, well lit, Thank you Reagan for a memorable dining experience at Roma's, we will definitely return. We went for dinner and arrived about an hour and a half before closing. The bar and dining area was busy. We were seated in a back room by our selves, in spite of the fact that we both bathed prior to going out (lol)! We ordered our dinners and shortly after our waiter asked if we minded if he cleaned tables in the room we were seated in. Assuming that meant spraying the tops, we said sure. Our food arrived and while we ate, the cleaning began in earnest. Tables were moved, chairs were stacked and floors were swept. The same activity began in the front dining room as patrons left. Then we understood why we were seated in the back room so as not to interfere with cleaning. We certainly thought the food was good and the service was adequate however we wouldn't recommend going during the cleaning if you want to enjoy a relaxing meal. We deducted two stars for what we consider a poor management practice that impacted on our dinner. read more

Our group of 19 went to Romas after a funeral this past Saturday night at 6pm. We got the back room for privacy knowing we had kiddos and they may be too loud for the other customers. Mason was our waiter and let me tell you he attended to us like we were the only people in the place. The kiddos got rowdy and I asked if we could please turn the tv on in the back. We were having issues with it so Mason turned on his Netflix account so we could calm the kids!! He went above and beyond. His attention to our drinks and food never slowed down either. With 19 of us and we all had different drinks and food....he nailed it! They have a wonderful bar too! The bartender knows what the heck she is doing!!!! OMG the drinks were wonderful! With this kind of service you would expect $$$$ but everything was so reasonably priced!! I was shocked. I don't know when we will be back in the Lufkin area again but I would definitely like to go back!!!! read more

This is a family favorite in Lufkin. Their drinks are delicious (grapefruit martini!) and food is so good. We always start with calamari that is light, crispy, and squid leg-free. The grilled salmon with veggies is delicious and light, and I love their Greek salad. Husband usually gets the chef special and sometimes the Stromboli. We had a to go order from this place tonight. Horrible. I ordered chicken with vegetables, it had no flavor and it certainly did not taste like Italian food! It was a Chinese dish with pasta, gross! We also ordered bruschetta as an appetizer. The bread was soggy and did not have fresh tomatoes on top rather it was more like canned tomatoes. I would of soon eaten a can of raviolis and saved 75.00. This place used to be good, now it's just another east Texas restaurant that will likely close. read more

The head bartender Tara is the BEST drink maker in East Texas. She is very talented and cares about her customers. The food was really good last night. The Veal dish I had was very good. The serving sizes more than enough. Be sure and try their garlic and Olive Oil dipping sauce They also have a very nice wine selection. The Chocolate cake is too good and is a large serving. Great Italian food! I had the Lasagna, it was a good size and your typical Lasagna. Its hard to mess up Lasagna but it is something that I had no issue paying someone to make as it was still delicious. My Fiance had the Chef Special which is scallops, shrimp and chicken with some pasta and vodka sauce. I am definitely simplifying that a bit as there is more to it than that, but she gave it a thumbs up. Our service was great and the food came out fast! Prices were meh but it wouldn't stop me from eating there again by any means. With that being said we are for sure going back! read more
