After seeing the advertisement for the pickle burger combo, my wife and I decided to make the drive to Marion to give it a shot. We arrived about 1330 in the afternoon and ordered our lunch via the app. My wife ordered a slushy and chicken nuggets while I ordered their pickle combo which included a pickle slushy. After a few minutes person appeared just out our window and said that we needed to request a refund for our slushies because they were out of the slushy stuff until their truck arrive later in the day. I remarked that I already paid so you need to refund my money. She said she was sorry and that only their GM can do refunds and that he didn't come in until 4 PM. This is the worst place to eat!!!!!!!!! My family came here at around 8 o'clock. We went in the drive thru and we ordered 3 Sonic burgers with everything on it, 2 chocolate shakes, tater tots and loaded fries. We ordered food and we drove up to the window and the first thing we saw was a woman employee licking her fingers while making are shakes!! We were very confused. We got both of the shakes and one of them had a hole in the bottom and they were not chocolate flavored, they were vanilla and peanut butter! Then we waited 20 minutes for are food. We got are bag of food and we got burgers first and they were all plain. After that horrible mess up I got my tater tots out and there was hair in them and fries were in the same container l, LIKE DUDE. The WORST customer service I've ever experienced!! I couldn't even speak to place my order because the employee at the drive thru kept interrupting me while ordering and then and cut me off with a total, ultimately not allowing me finish my order and then she ignored me when I told her I was still ordering. I left with no food after waiting in line for 20 MINUTES. Called the store and they REFUSED to answer the phone, only to finally pick it up to say "Call back later" and hung up on me. Spoke to customer service and they said the issue would be resolved with the manager and the manager of this location has yet to adequately address the situation. Would give 0 stars if I could. Where to even start ?? Pressed the button to order and it was forever before someone answered. We ordered a coney and they started asking about tomato and lettuce.. we were confused and turns out they must have been listening in to our conversation prior to when they let us know they were there and we were talking about the chicken sandwich. They were out of chili, lettuce, tomato.. the card reader on the screen didn't work. We didn't get cheese dip with our pretzel sticks ... when they did bring the food out they let us know the card thing didn't take our payment so we gave them our credit card. They were inside probably 10 minutes (we still needed the cheese dip).. finally my husband walked up to the drive through window. He had to bang on it several times to get their attention (they were just laughing and messing around). They gave us 1 cheese (we ordered 2 pretzels) and at that point said "I suppose" when he asked for the cheese. They told us the card reader is broke and apparently despite letting us order we tried to start digging around to see if we even had the amount in cash. I've come here before and had them do an awful job with my burger- I think it was a fluke though. (They literally just gave me a burger patty and bread...) Everything else I've gotten has been great, and they are always so wonderful when I bring my dogs (4!). They give me a big bowl of ice cream and peanut butter for them all to share and they don't try to cheap out on our cups of water for them. I feel like a weirdo- but that means a lot to me. This was on the top of my gross list I found a hair in my chili cheese tater tots and when I called the lady and told her she told me that everyone in the back has no hair so there's no way that that could happen.... Probably the worst Sonic I've been to, from the food to the customer service. I've never had less than a ten minute wait no matter what spot I am in line. The employees always seem to be running out the back door to socialize with friends or significant others, or they are out back smoking. The corn dog I had once was almost black, it definitely looked like it had been sitting around and then dropped back into the fryer. The grilled cheese that I just got was little more than two microwaved pieces of soggy bread with a piece of cheese in between, there was no crust or butter to speak of (see pic). I've had cashier's literally say not one word to me as they process the order. I don't know why I keep giving this place a chance, but I'm definitely done. We pulled up to the red button on a Wednesday to order up some good ol'fast food. Not sure why I do not visit Sonic Drive-in locatioms more often. Maybe it's because I personally can not reach that aforementioned iconic button without some serious reaching? Either way, I like the classic set up even on a cold winter night. After perusing the menu which offers your typical burgers along with more "unique" items like hot dogs and tator tots (they'll even make you chili tator tots if those sink your arteries), we ordered the crispy chicken combo and a popcorn chicken combo. Paying with a card is as easy as paying at the gas station pump. Shorty after a friendly attendant brought our order, condiments napkins etc. My chicken and fries were deliciously hot and I enjoyed them. But the two tomatoes were off tasting and I had to remove them. The popcorn chicken, however, were not so fresh tasting. All in all I have to say it is a solid fast food option. Horrible wait times! Horribly inconsistent quality! finally had enough with THIS location and I absolutely Love Sonic ice cream! I used to stop at least 2times a week but I'm done! I'd rather take my chances with McDonald's ghost ice cream machine! Probably have better odds. Usually has other stuff i didn't ask for in it let alone you don't get much of anything other than plain ice cream anyway! Had our first bad experience ever at a Sonic-usually one of our favorites and always reliable. We stopped here while traveling and actually picked it over others. BAD CHOICE-I can say the service was good as they usually are at a Sonic, but the food wasn't. I ordered popcorn chicken which arrived cold and hard-and i thought OK well cold chicken I can put up with it. Then tasted a tater tot and it was ice cold, so I proceeded to take the food to the door, as there was no inside sitting, and a young man greeted me. I told him the problem and he did offer to make me fresh, but knowing these days that is way too risky to say the least (I would have had images of what they could have done to my food) so I declined. Gave him all my food back. We then drove on down the road hungry and ate later, when we got our room in Fremont, OH. Ohh I also told the young man I wouldn't be stopping at a Sonic anytime soon, as this experience left me with a bad taste, well really no taste as I didn't eat the food. read more
