My husband ordered a cheeseburger, it was so greasy it fell apart in his hand, I ordered a #11 with onion rings instead of fries and a unsweetened iced tea with sweetner and a sprite for my husband, so we get the order and it is... the cheeseburger 2 drinks and a order of undercooked and soggy onion rings!! That was $19.63 I believe, then when the rude girl who took our order brought it out, not only did she have caterpillars as eyelashes, she was rude and condescending. I told her my sandwich was missing this made her even rude then before, she said she would send it out The lady who brought out my missing sandwich then told me I had to pay $6.59 for my missing sandwich. I get the sandwich 1 it is burnt (yuck) and so dry i could not eat more than 2 bites!!! The whole $25.00 crappy meal went in the trash!!! me and a friend stopped by for lunch we ordered our food didn't take long maby 10 min we received our food then we sat in our car for maby 20 min or so the manager came out didn't say anything to us she wrote down my license plate number then a few minutes later a guy came out and told us to leave or cops will be called i asked why he said their is no loitering I said what we are still eating and in a drive in stall their was no sighns saying no loitering or a time limit to sitting at the drive in horrible staff and management i will not be eating at a sonic agine they lost my service they need to be evaluated for sure read more

Went through the drive-through - got a Sonic double burger/bacon/cheese, med onion rings and med taters. I asked about a plain hamburger and they said they could do that. Considering it was just a plain hamburger I thought it would be around $2. Well, don't buy the plain, single patty burger here - it was $4.98 - whereas the sonic double patty with cheese and bacon was $6.95 or 98 whatever - that kinda made the experience sickening. I know food is more expensive here, and it's a tourist area, but really, they should tell you of a cheaper option for a plain burger. Service was a little slow but the other stuff was okay, no sauce or condiments offered with the onion rings or tater tots (lil oily) so won't be going back for those. read more

They were busy and under-staffed the day we were here. Many places are under-staffed now so we did not hold this against them. The waitress was very apologetic and they really tried hard to get us our food quickly, despite the challenges. The food was pretty typical for Sonic. read more

We stopped in for a bite and used the drive up machine to place our order. Funny thing was we ordered item after item and for each one was asked if we wanted certain vegetables, kind of drink, type of fries and thinking we got a complete order was asked again the same thing after...Hard to tell if she just didn't ask us to repeat it thinking it was rude or if she just forgot to plug in the details prompting her to ask the same thing over again. It did frustrate us a tad bit and wondered what kind of employees work here but the gal taking the order through the machine actually came out personally to deliver what she knew was accurate and to clarify the other half of the order so I thought that was big if her character. Once waited 30 minutes for 3 simple shakes. Ordered a hot fudge and peanut butter shake. Then heard the person next to me order a hot fudge shake to which the employee said they had ran out of hot fudge... I pressed the button again and said "I've been waiting 30 minutes now for 3 shakes. Just heard you're out of fudge?" The employee said "no, we have fudge, it will be out in a minute." So I try the shake in question... the "hot fudge" was hard like it was scooped out of the fudge container into the shake (not mixed in literally like a ball) and no peanut butter... I can't believe this woman spilt my tots!!! Not the car hopper my passenger thankfully they were replaced free of charge and immediately. Food was every bit of the Sonic you come to expect. Came in a few times actually maybe 4 and while I usually enjoy sweet tea with my meal I was talked into a cherry limeade and while not my cup of tea (pun intended) was delicious nonetheless. We went to Sonic and ordered a hamburger strictly no cheese and they gave us a cheeseburger. We got to our hotel and I figured out that they gave us a cheeseburger and I had to throw it away. Sonic drive in @ 2316 Mr Rushmore Rd, Rapid City, SD is one of the worst places to eat out if you prefer good customer service, friendly employees, food prepared correctly, etc. 12/1/17 & 12/2/17 have made me NEVER want to go back there again!!!!! Not only was I told, "if you don't like the prices, you can go somewhere else," but the general manager was just as bad acting as though I was an annoyance in her way. I broke my tooth off from some over fried onion rings. This place obviously can't figure out how to do their job right, the first time. They need replaced with a restaurant that can. But if you are ever in Rapid City, SD and get a Sonic drive-in craving, the restaurant on Jackson Blvd is amazing and wouldn't allow for their employees to do or say what happens at this restaurant. I will be driving the extra 6 miles to go to them from this day forward. I didn't by even get refunded for the over charge on my receipt from Mt Rushmore Rd!! I ordered a pretzel & mozzarella sticks & asked if I could get cheese for the pretzel & the employee said "it comes with it" in such an irritated tone that I didn't want to ask about marranera sauce but decided it was very important & asked anyway & she said "yes the sauce comes with the mozzarella sticks like the pretzel" in an even more irritated tone. & my popcorn chicken was practically deep fried rocks all in all a very poor experience. read more
