The single WORST SONIC I've ever been to. Absolutely RUDE staff, blamed internet for the app not working and refused to honor the half price drink. STAY AWAY FROM HERE, time and energy. A year ago I reviewed this place on Google. But against our better judgement, we went tonight 10/5/2024. And let me tell you the burgers tasted like they had been warmed up directly into grease. The Ketchup was spoiled. The crinkle fries were over salted and were basically the crumbs from the.bottom that had been just sitting. The onion rings were dripping with what tasted like old grease sticking together. Both burgers I still can not get over spent 30 dollars for dumpster food we didn't eat McDonald's is even better than Rockdale Texas Sonic. Don't bother keep driving. read more

2:30 Friday afternoon on the 10th of June. This is precisely the time I would send a crew out to power wash stalls. (not!) 4 minutes after I pushed the button I got tired of watching the employee leaning in the driver window of the car next to me and waiting for somebody to answer so I drove off. There were three other cars in stalls and two in the Drive-Thru. Certainly not busy enough that any employee should feel like they should quit visiting and get in and help. (not!) First off I ordered a 5 piece chicken strips and they gave me cinnabons. It took them forever to to get it fixed and when I got it there was 4 chicken strips and 1 mozzarella stick. Over all the service was terrible and wait staff were rude. Wouldn't recommend read more

Rockdale, TX - I was driving through Rockdale. After driving 5 hours from Lousiana. I turned off my car, ordered a caramel ice cream shake, and added coffee. It was great, and every employee was top-notch!!! When I tried to start my car to leave, it would not start. Lamont, the manager and all the employees went out of their way to help me. Lamont, the manager was very professional and went out of his way to call a friend for jumper cables, another employee found some cables and a customer came over with a jumper box. Debatably one of the worst Sonics. I waited for 10 min after I pushed the button to answer me, during this time I watched them play around with each other in the back. When they finally answer, the employee just sounded like they hated everything. They had only one car hop for the entire sonic and when she came out to bring me my food, she sneezed on my food and just handed it to me. I usually like Sonic and haven't had many issues with any Sonic I have visited in the past. We moved to Rockdale almost a year ago & have been to the Sonic here a few times. The tater tots are not good. They look like they have been sitting out for a while & then re-heated. They don't look the same as any other Sonic tater tots I've had before. My husband ordered me a child's burger twice and both times it had so much mustard on it I had to scrape the majority of it off, and that's not fun to do while riding in a car with limited resources. The staff is friendly & the orders did come out quickly. We would probably go there again since there aren't many other options around here but I won't order tater tots anymore. read more

Absolutely love this sonic. Even when there busy they try there best to get orders out as soon as they can. And only occasionally my order does get messed up, they make sure to do there damn best to fix it. I will always come back to this sonic whenever I need drinks or food. read more

I used to go to sonic here but service and food became really bad, so i stopped going. Recently a friend of mine told me new manager and staff was hired so he tried it again. He told me it was like sonic used to be and convinced me to go and try it again. So yesterday i did. Just from my experience the person that took my order was very friendly the food came out fast and when i got home everything was correct and still hot not warm. First star: Horrible service, rude employees, employees allowed to wear dirty clothes to work in. Takes FOREVER at the drive in. Did i say FOREVER? one day we sat there 20mins and i still dont know why...there were 2 cars in the pull ups and no one behind me. I asked why and the girl rudely responded that they were short of help. Employees would rather chit chat, text their friends, smoke breaks etc. It's completely ridiculous. The so called manager needs to overhaul his employees right away. Get it together Rockdale sonic! On to my second star...the food I've received has been basically good for a fast food joint however their prices have skyrocketed far and above other similar fast food joints. Rude employee slow and always m messing up on orders I've heard how nasty they are in the inside leaving dirty dishes and grease everywhere

I love Sonic drinks. But I will not go back to this Sonic again. I ordered a Route 44 drink ONLY. I watched other people who ordered after me get food before I got my drink. When I asked about talking to a manager about as I had waited 15 minutes for a drink, the manager came out and REFUSED to address my concerns and even stated, "well obviously you don't want your drink" and walked off. We sat in line at the drive through speaker for 5 minutes without being addressed. Not even "we're very busy please wait a moment." So I think maybe the speakers out and back the car up and enter a stall. I push the red button for service and wait another 10 minutes for service. When I asked for two shakes they said "we're not serving ice cream at this time." How is that possible when ice cream shakes are Sonic's promotion this summer and waffle cones are premiering less than a week from today? I ordered 3 waters. It took 22 minutes to receive them. I have groceries in the trunk. I did not know it would take 22 minutes to get my sonic order or I wouldn't have stopped. They couldn't have been that busy... I just saw a man in the back taking a smoke break while he talked to his wife/girlfriend/sister. VERY DISAPPOINTED! I pushed the red button 3 times. No response. I got out of my car and proceeded to the window when I saw the smoker worker man talking the women at a car. Got to the window and staff are sitting around. Not a good Sonic. Ordeted a sm Onion Ring got two med sized and two small onion rings completely over breaded and not fresh at all. I believe they had been sitting there awhile or heated up in a microwave. Another visit ordered a buger and meat was cold and bun was hard. My third and last visit ordeted a large limeaid slush with extra lime and was charged .75 extra. I have never been charged extra at any Sonic for extra lime. Will never go back. Food is horrible and so is the service and when I said something was yreated very rudely. read more

Order took forever and there were on 2 other vehicles waiting. Finally get the food and the hot dog bun was so soggy and disgusting, pretty sure someone poured liquid over it, GROSS!
