The burgers are really tasty, but it's very pricey for burgers served in a garage. The staff was friendly, and it's fairly comfortable. My burger was delicious...juicy, packed with fun toppings, and I was quite satisfied with my meal. The price tag was steep. I don't think a burger that cost a total of two dollars to plate should cost 11 dollars. That's a pretty hefty margin. Save the margin for the alcohol. Give a good deal on the food. read more

First time here, and this yelper is somewhat up in the air about this place. I ordered a burger with cheese and it's was your typical burger. Nothing to rave about. The fries were "ok" as well. Berry ordered the Hamburger Steak was good but half the size it should be -His Words. I would try this place again in the future. read more

With COVId being around if you do not want the cook and staff breathing over your food with no mask on KEEP ON DRIVING. No one was wearing a mask and no notice on door about wearing one either so with careless ownership I cannot be certain that things are being taken seriously about the spread of this virus. I get it is hard to breath in a mask and I do not like wearing one any more than the next person. I also do not want to have the added risk of a waitress not wearing a mask when waiting on so many others and then leaning over our table to check on us. Food is not what it used to be so I think the Ranch deserves a break so we will not be returning. The hamburger was Meh, nothing special, so thanks but no thanks! read more

The area of Rockdale has a few eating places happened to stop by for a beer and decided to try hamburger wasn't the worst I ever had but nothing to go back for. The atmosphere reminded me of the movie Roadhouse with no customers staff was not very friendly and the exterior is poorly lit and maintained . Might a better bar than eating place read more

Great food and really friendly service! The burgers are fantastic and the kids meals are great, just like any other place they have a variety of menu items that are fried. For my family of 5 we eat for less than $35 with tip. read more

Found a cockroach in a bottle of ketchup. Told the lady behind the counter that she might want to clean out that bottle. Instead she just put it on the other side of the bar. Finally told another waitress and she disposed of it. Burgers were good, but I will not be going back. read more

Update: They have made quite a few improvements since this incident. Outdoor seating, more outdoor lights. They are fixing things up as they have more events/bands. So, 2016 went out with a bang, literally. We were sitting at The Ranch listening to the band and watching people dance when all of a sudden there was a loud bang and the lights went out. Everybody was talking about it being a blown fuse. Most everybody just sat there except for a couple groups that took off out the back door. We continue to sit there in partial darkness because the front of the building with the stage was still lit. The next thing we know is the waitress is coming by telling us we need to evacuate the building because there's a fire. So we pick up our stuff and head out that back door. This place is old and ran down and it's a metal building and the parking lot is all dirt and it has all around it cement bumpers for cars to park against. There was no car park at this entrance that we all went out and there were no outdoor lighting, no security lights whatsoever it was pitch dark. So everybody's walking out in a big group and the next thing I know I'm going face down into the dirt. I didn't see one of those curbs, I also heard someone say something that leads me to believe it happened to someone else too. So here I laid, mouth full of dirt and scrapes/cuts. Thankfully My husband and my son were there to help me along with some other gentlemen. The fire chief was there last night along with other Rockdale Fire Dept volunteers and they put out the fire and came to check on me. Turns out one of the legs from an overhead drop dropped causing the fire. They had an ambulance come check me out. Blood pressure was a "little " high. Actually, a lot high. I'm going to be okay, scratches to my face/nose, my left hand/arm was scraped up pretty good and my right wrist is sore. The stone in my amethyst ring was knocked out but Alan went back and actually found it in the dirt. What really pisses me off is the owners or management didn't even offer to comp our dinner or return our ticket prices since we left right after this happened. I'm waiting to see if I get the bill for the ambulance. They need battery operated emergency lights outside, paint the curbs in a night glow paint and have a fire exit plan. Nothing was announced so that everyone could hear it. My original review was blocked / called a lie...nice try Cathy and russ but truth is truth here we go again: The food is good but the male owner is a piece of work. He canceled Karaoke night back in August because someone he doesn't like who used to live near him (and has served his time for selling drugs, how about second chances you know) came in to do karaoke and eat. The waitress waited on us before he noticed us, after that a friend who joined us had to go harass them for more drinks and about what was going on with karaoke. We sat there 3 hours or so waiting for karaoke to start ---had to wait for their football game on tv to end first -- the karaoke dj was all set up and ready to go had his list started for those wanting to sing and the owner turned on the radio LOUD once the game was over rather then let the one he didn't like have a chance to sing. this co-owner was not only unprofessional but also stupid..he lost a good $50 dinner and drinks (maybe more) sell from our table but also threw away nearly $400 by doing this. We wont be back and we won't be ordering out there. Cath you are okay by what I know. Russ is a pos. The food must be loaded with msg because an ex-boss took us there a few times and paid. I got SO sick from a simple burger. I only get sick from burgers like that when tgey have msg or liquid smoke in it. This place needs to stop claiming to be a place for families. It's a bar. If you're looking for fancy don't go there. It is what it is (an old bar/dance hall). But if you're looking for a great burger and hand cut fries and onion rings, this is the joint for you! Friends from Dallas thought they served the best burgers. Thought the Texas "dive" atmosphere was a kick. Even posted pictures on Facebook. Lol read more

Great ownership. The food is really good. Stop in and try it if you are ever going through Rockdale, Texas - you won't be disappointed!!
