They forgot 3 items on my order, I asked them to fix the issue over the intercom, and they just ignored us for 30 min.

This is only the 2nd time I have been to Sonic. Mainly, it is too far for me to go for a Fast Food meal. I made it a point of going today as a stop on my errand running. I wanted to try the Philly Cheese Steak, which is a new sandwich this week. And only for a limited time. I ordered at the drive thru. This was a difficult process for me. Very difficult to hear the confirmation of my order. I had to go the the pay window without knowing if my order was right. Simple order, beverage, Onion Rings and Philly Cheese spicy. My total ws $9.53. Based on what I have seen on the sandwich size, seemed ok pricing. I got my beverage quickly. The sandwich and onion rigns needed to be prepared I guess. It was 10 minutes before I got the rest of the order. I get my order and circle around to pull into a drive in spot to eat. Tried an onion ring. Crsipy, breading intact and hot. No ketchup, mustard or other dipping sauce though. Probably my fault for not ordering them and not being able to hear someone talking with the mic 6-8 inches from their mouth. The onion rings seemed stale to me, but being hot and crispy made them OK. The sandwich was a decent size for $4.29. About the size of an 8 - 9 inch hot dog bun. It also had the texture of a hot dog bun. Typical Philly Cheese rolls have a slight crispy exterior, soft interior. I suspect the meat is precooked, sandwich assembled and steamed. I didn't pay much attention to the cheese, which is kinda stupid if giving it a review. I don't think there was a lot of cheese or I would remember that. Service wise, this place was lacking a bit. As mentioned earlier, the equipment they use was not putting out the proper volume to hear the confirmation of my order or the order taker was not talking into the mic. Both of these issues can be corrected if they care at all. I am not sure how many people were working, but I only saw 2 people. If that is all they have for staffing, the ownership/management needs to pull their head out of where the sun don't shine. You can't efficiently staff a drive thru with just 2 people. I have other opinions for Sonic, but those are more for Corporate then this particular store. I will wait for another day to express those. For $4.29 this was a decent sandwich. Not the greatest Philly, but a good close cousin to one. For a point of reference, the last Philly Cheese I got elsewhere was $16.00 for Sandwich, fries, beverage, tax. Sonics was $9.53 with Onion Rings instead for fries. No photos as I was eating in my car. My car is not set up to take photos very well. read more

I placed my order for 4 Blasts (which are like DQ Blizzards) at 730 p.m. on the Sonic app, to be picked up at 8 p.m. Apparently they lost my order, then lied to me that my order was being made. The second person I complained to went in and started making the blasts while I was watching at the drive-thru window. I did not get my order until 8:45! I think I even heard the person making my order say that the person who was at that station clocked out without making my order! WORSE SERVICE EVER!!!! I had my first Sonic experience when I was on my externship in NC. I loved it! I was really excited to see one finally opened up in the city. Ehhhhh...it was ok. It's just a step up from Mcdonald/BK. Food there is still greasy but they offer a variety of mixed (non-alcoholic) drinks and treats. I also like how they serve breakfast items too. This is the kind of food that you can only eat once in a while cause it's a heart attack waiting to happen. read more

I finally decided to give it another shot after the last time I burned a gallon of gas at $4. a gallon only to find out you can only get take out after a certain hour. I went because I saw the ad on TV It's better after dark. Boy, did I wish I had the money to burn on nuisance lawsuits. If that wasn't false advertising, nothing was. I was comped another meal. I go because I love drive in dining. My carhop, Travis was great and very helpful and attentive. Some of them skate, some don't. I got a burger, my way. I like that you can get a value meal and aren't just stuck with fries or tots. For 1.50 you can get jalopeno poppers, which I love. A few other cars were there, peaceful, and no hysteria. I'm sick of the #1 and#2 burger joints shrinking their portions and the quality they once had. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Sheneneh Jenkins at the window got my order wrong and was missing 3 of my 5 drinks. When I tried to correct the mistake and reorder them at the window she slammed the window on us just to open the window again and say "she ain't even put dem on yo order" then slam the window again. Dear Sonic, I don't care what the other reviewers say about you, you'll always have a place in my heart. I have visited you to get nothing more than a Diet Cherry Limeade and been satisfied. How do you get your ice so small? Why is it infinitely better that way? I love your tots especially with chili and cheese on them, as unhealthy as it may be. Don't go here. Horribly understaffed and the ones working are all incompetent kids. I waited 10 minutes in the drive thru and they messed up literally every single item in my order. The girl working the drive thru didn't even listen at all, I finished my entire order and she didn't even put any of it in, so I had to say the whole thing again. I told them the combo number I wanted 3 times and they still gave me the completely wrong sandwich. This is an embarrassment for Sonic and by far the worst Sonic I've ever been to. I used to love Sonic when I lived in New Mexico and I could not wait until we got Sonic here. I don't know if its just not the same because I can't look out on the Santa Fe Mountains while I eat my Chili Cheese Coney and Tots anymore or what but it just feels and tastes different. I still do love the Happy Hour 2 for 1 drink specials and once in a while I do crave the chili cheese coney but I more than likely do not come here for a meal anymore. The staff is always friendly so no complaints there but I just think I might have outgrown the food. With other options in the area like Davanni's and even Arby's, I more than likely will not come here unless its Happy Hour. read more

The food here was really good, but I had many issues with my visit. I ordered 2 regular chili cheese dog meals, mozzarella sticks, and a pretzel with cheese. Missing my cheese. I got an extra regular chili cheese dog and I got 2 foot longs so one of those just went to waste. Not to mention that the drive in parking spots were ridiculously tight and that's because the menus were set up in a weird position. It was one of the only few spots they had open so I parked there. It was tight but I got in fine. Getting out was the issue. I was going slow and careful due to the cramped space but the menu was so much in my way that it knocked off my right side mirror on my car. Horrible customer service. Pretty much no option but to go through the drive thru which is annoying. Employees have been rude each time we go there. We went three different times to try and get banana milkshakes within two weeks and got the same "we ran out of bananas" every time. My mom and I have come to this location several times and we always get the cherry limeades. Literally we are lucky if we get 1 cherry in them. We have gotten all sizes and seriously never get a cherry. We asked about the cherries and they charged us 20 cents for one extra which we didn't get. I don't care how dumb this review seems. Tremendously bad customer service. My wife did the drive through about a year ago and while handing him the money questioned the accuracy of the total. The kid flipped his lid, screamed at her that if she thought he was too dumb to serve hot dogs, she could take her money back and leave. He then tossed the money, and slammed the window. She got home, shaken, and called the restaurant and demanded to talk to a manager. Guess who the manager was? Yep. Drive through guy. Getting nowhere, she called corporate and reported her interaction. The owner of the store was very understanding and apologetic. He took our address and promised to send a gift card to show his sincerity in fixing the situation. Much like the food, the card never came. Boooo! What a big fat waste of time! I feel bad saying this because my best friend who lives in St Paul was sooooo excited to take us here when we were visiting from California. So we went.... So we arrive and there is a huge line out of the parking lot. It sort of reminded me of the In and Out burger craze years ago when you waited hours for burgers. At least I could say that the In and Out burgers were worth the wait. So we pulled into the wait line on the side of the road and we got lucky! Most everyone decided to pull away and just as we were approaching the front of the line, someone was backing out of their "spot". At the time I thought it was awesome that we got to try this place, but now I wish we hadn't had the chance to try it. Okay I will give it credit...the concept is neat. You park your car up to a car port and you order from a menu posted. Someone talks to you through the menu which was very loud and hard to understand. But we got our order right. I have this weird thing about eating in cars...especially fast food that stinks. It grosses me out but we were eating in my friends Rav4 so I didn't have to deal with the nasty smell and spilled food later on. The food arrived and it was less then stellar...typical mediocre Burgers and frys. Even the Limeade that my friend was raving about was not great....full of sugar and I couldn't even taste the lime! We husband and I shared a cheeseburger and fries...no idea how anyone can eat this meal on their own without wanting to puke out their guts. Its very awkward to eat in a car and I had food all over my lap by the time it was done...great! I couldn't wait to be done with this place and gooooo! The total came to like $25 for the 4 of us and that was my husband and I sharing a meal along with some mozzarella sticks. Not worth the price. Worst. Customer. Service. EVER. We went there last night and ordered three drinks from our vehicle. After 30 minutes of waiting, I went to the front of the store to ask what the hold up was. They informed me that they were very busy and would be bringing them out to us right away. FIFTEEN minutes later, we buzzed them from our vehicle and they informed us that the dining area was closed now and if we wanted to order anything, the drive-thru was open. My husband told them that 'we already placed our order - FORTY-FIVE MINUTES ago.' The man on the other side of the box asked him "What did you order?" My husband told him about our three drinks. The man then asked "what kind did you order?" At that point, we left and went to Dairy Queen and got excellent service, even though they were just as busy. I would highly recommend NOT going to this location. There are other Sonic locations in the cities - go to one of those instead. Very disappointing service. read more

I believe there used to be a sonic in West St Paul on Robert... NOW I know why it closed n disappeared! This is by far THE WORST fast food I've ever had. Seriously, This store is a hot mess. The employees were rude, and I waited 10 minutes at the service window, with no one acknowledging me. I finally asked why it was taking so long and the girl at the window ROLLED HER EYES and got her manager who said they were waiting on popcorn chicken, for 10 minutes..... while my other food was already made and getting cold. Anyways. I have my food now and I'm irritated so I pull out of the drive thru and get home. I realize I have NO sauces. NONE. WHO SERVES MOZZARELLA STICKS WITHOUT SAUCE!??! Or even popcorn chicken without sauce! So really pissed off at this point I reach out to the company. The District Manager reached out to me, offered me a gift card. Which I haven't gotten yet. and when I emailed inquiring about it I got a rude response. So if I were you I would avoid this place like the plague. There are plenty of other fast food joints in the area who will probably serve you food without rolling their eyes at you. I however, will be waiting until I travel out of town before I visit another Sonics. I've lived in Kansas and have visited many other areas and eaten at their other locations. We just were in the drive through for about 40 min. They shut off the intercom for ordering and COMPLETELY ignored us when we drove around to the window to see what was going on. What is so hard with saying "one moment please" or opening the window and letting us know they were backed up. These people totally and utterly ignored us. It was the worst service we've ever had anywhere. The food is mediocre for the most part. I love the corn dogs and slush drinks but that's it. I'm going to call this location tomorrow and let a manager know how horrible everyone in the drive through was treated. read more

this place sent me into labor! we waited in line in the drive thru for over an hour opening day. i work across the street so it was exciting. finally got our food at 8. messed up our order but it was still good. i was 9 months pregnant i would've eaten anything they put in front of me. devoured our meals. dont care much for their fries but love their tots. at exactly midnight my water broke. with my other 2 kids i was always starving during labor. even tho i had eaten beforehand. not this time. i wasn't even hungry when i popped the kid out. they brought me some food and I was all no thanks I had sonic. i still go here before work when i'm craving a burger but the drive thru can be really slow if other cars are in front of you. thankfully they haven't messed my order up since :D read more

Service is inconsistent. This is my third time visiting in the past 3 weeks and every time I've ordered it has been incorrect the wait time it's been at least 15 to 20 minutes each time. Compared to my visits at other Sonics in other state locations this has been far the worst experience I've had. Today at Sonic at this location would probably be the best of all three visits accept it was still wasn't a standard that I've had at other sonic locations around the US. My visit today at the sonic location I had the experience pleasure of the car hop named Stephanie. For customer service was excellent but the order was incorrect from a person that took my order. I chose not to press the red button and request my order be fixed I did not want to wait and waste my time for another delay. read more

Sonic seems to create a love hate relationship with most everyone that goes there. The good can usually be consistently good, but the service can go from 5 minutes to 35 minutes in a heartbeat. It's conveniently located on Suburban which is like a nice long strip mall of fast food, grocery stores (from Aldi to Byerly's!) with a Pawn American and plasma place thrown in so it's got something for everyone. The tator tots are always a sure thing at Sonic and I've never had them be bad. Burgers can sometimes be a little off, but it's also dependent on who is working there. Just like with the length of service as there can be 5 people running around inside taking orders, but not knowing how to be more efficient. Basically Sonic is great for that binge treat when you want it, but be prepared to wait sometimes. Especially if you're ordering breakfast. They seem to cook to order which is nice, but almost all the breakfast items taste like they were rolled in salt. read more

I've always had a good experience at sonic but this location was disappointing. We pulled into a kiosk, pushed the order button and proceeded to wait 15 minutes without any response. There were maybe 3 other cars at kiosks and a few in the drive through so I thought it was weird that we weren't receiving any service. We pressed the button again and waited maybe 5 or 10 minutes before deciding to go through the drive through. While ordering, the food was not being displayed on the screen and the employee did not read my order back to me so I had no idea whether everything was correct. Also, I wasn't told how much my order even was until I paid at the window. Once we got our receipt I noticed that my popcorn chicken combo was only rung up as just popcorn chicken so when the employee (possibly the manager) brought us our food, I told him the mistake and asked if I could have a small order of fries whilst handing him my card in which he replied "do you see this line right now? I cannot place an order of fries." In the moment I understood and I'm not a very confrontational person so I just told him it was fine and we left, only to discover that they completely forgot to give us the order of popcorn chicken that we paid for. Also, my friend ordered a chocolate chip cookie dough sonic blast and it was basically just vanilla ice cream. Overall, I think we were at sonic for at least 45 minutes and received horrible service. So, when I found out there was a Sonics in MN I was stoked! I've been coming to this Sonics sparingly for about 5 months now. On many of those occasions I ordered my slushy (because that is the only reason I loved Sonics) and it tasted great, even though the wait time is 8 to 10 min , I was satisfied because it tasted great. But for the past month they have consistently gotten my drink combination incorrect. Usually when a restaurant constantly gets my order wrong I stop eating there and then I do the survey on the receipt. I did the survey and no free drink, no free meal, no free anything nor a response from Sonics. So I'm like okay I love Sonics so much that I just cant give up on them like that. So I tried again today and same result, wrong drink combination again! Im so done with Sonics, Bye Felicia! read more

There are not many place where you can still have a car hop bring your food to your car. Plus there food is great ! They may be a little slow but they have better corn dogs than the fair. Hamburgers are better than most other fast food. To top it off they have a very large drink selection. Go for happy hour and get a great deal!!! read more
