DELICIOUS! The ice cream is fresh and so yummy. I got the cookies and cream and it was yummy. I also tried the coconut chip after I ordered and it is so yummy! I'm glad my friend recommended them. I will definitely go back. They have so many flavors and the staff is all so friendly!

Mannnnnn I love this place down!!! I've been going here all my life with my family and friends, seriously a nostalgic spot. The ice cream is huge, the waffle is sooo good, and the prices are decent for the amount of ice cream you get. I got a single split of mango and pomegranate sorbet, super fruity and yummy. My friend got a single split of the mint chocolate and oreo(?), also super tasty and I actually finished his for him since it was so much ice cream. The flavors are blended very well and are never overwhelming. They always have flavors from wall to wall, and the workers make sure to accommodate your palate so there's a scoop for anyone who walks in. They also will let you try as many as you want, superrrrrr thankful for that since I'm indecisive sometimes.

Great! Neighborhood ice cream place. Used to have a really good pizza next door but the pizza place is closed. They're known for their ice cream "black hills gold". That's what Obama ordered when he was in twin cities

What a great ice cream spot! I got Cookie Monster and taro on a waffle cone - both were so good! Love the malt ball in the waffle cones. Can ask for samples. $8 for a split scoop can't be beat, as I don't see this price in CA. Service is friendly and fast. Though the space is small and the line was long, the line moves fast. Also recommend getting napkins as the cones can be drippy. I'd come back for sure to try more flavors, such as s'mores, marshmallow, and birthday cake.

A solid ice-cream shop with tons of flavors to choose from. You walk in and you're immediately hit with the lovely scent of waffle cones. There were plenty of people working behind the counter, and they were fast at tending to the guests. The place was steadily busy the entire time we were there. There was outdoor and indoor seating, and it was nice to just hang out and chat over a sweet treat. The ice-cream was also delicious. The single split was perfect for someone indecisive (me), and it was a large portion size. The waffle bowl was also as good as it smelled.

First cone of the season! Love this place.

Made from scratch ice cream AND made fresh waffle cones?! I crave their ice cream year round so I'm happy they don't close for winter.

A double with Key Lime and Black Hills Gold.

Stopped in for what is getting to be traditional eclectic ice cream shop in the cities. Service was friendly and good. Answered all questions about the ice cream and flavors well. Tasting samples are available to help you decide. Portions are good size and varied for your appetite. Taste was good. Ice cream was smooth and ingredients were mixed well. I would recommend this shop and plan on coming back.

It's a staple in the Twin Cities and a favorite amongst the locals! Located on Grand Ave in Saint Paul. There a plethora of ice cream flavors to choose from. Think fast! The line is usually out the door. It's best to know what you want when your turn is up as service is prompt to allow a continuous flow through the establishment. It's quaint friendly and nostalgic. It's no wonder generations have been enjoying it for years!

Grand Ole Creamery Love my stop in here! I had the split one scoop (massive portion) and got the Black Hills Gold & Coffee break ice cream. Both were decent - nothing too special or over the top good. For the quality, I thought the price was quite high ($8 for 1 scoop). The atmosphere and service were really great though!

Great variety of flavors. Taro was wonderful, tasted very similar to pandan flavor. The marshmallow man was full of whole, mini-marshmallows in a soft and wonderful way. The lime sherbet was very artificial tasting and for the first time ever, tasted too much like kitchen cleaner; in a bad way. The s'mores didn't really have that familiar s'more's flavor. Coconut chip was nice in flavor. Black cherry, can never be wrong. The shop was quiet, a bit dark inside but nice and cool with the AC. More than a handful for sidewalk tables available and right nearby a few different food restaurants, if you wanted to grab dinner beforehand. The kids behind the counter were friendly and had a good rapport with each other.

Outside with tables, though I think these tables might have been for BIGE since they're different

Went mid-day so parking was easy and with the nice weather the outdoor seating was a great way to bask in some sun and ice cream. Eating ice cream outside though did melt the ice cream quickly. Service was prompt and staff was friendly for an afternoon lull in customers. It's a bit dark inside especially compared to the contrast to BIGE that's connected through an arch in the wall. I should have sampled the flavor first but went with it since I love lemon flavored anything. The raspberry lemon sorbet was a bit lackluster and needed more lemon flavoring for me.

    Lots of fun flavors!

Our server was very nice to us and our kiddo, and gave good suggestions. We had the cold cuts app, kale salad, a pizza, tiramisu, and a few cocktails to share. All the food we had was great, well balanced flavors with interesting twists, like the fried chicken on pizza and the meaty kale salad. The limoncello spritz was so refreshing and good, but the espresso martini was just alright - I might pass on that next time. The tiramisu was to die for - my favorite in the cities so far! Will definitely be back for that, and to try some pastas, which looked and smelled amazing as they passed our table. The only thing that was a little weird was that we asked for whipped cream on the side for our kiddo, and they brought and charged us for "butter" which seemed to be some sort of mascarpone or heavy cream/ butter dish topped with salt and olive oil. It was good and the baby liked it, just wasn't what we expected - something to be aware of! The vibe was date-y and upscale, we felt alright having our baby with us, but definitely felt a bit out of place the few times she was loud. Perhaps on a weekday, it might be easier to bring kids, but even on a Saturday evening we still felt pretty welcome.

Lovely little place with delicious food and drinks at good prices!…read moreCame here on a Saturday evening with a group of three. We called around 5:30 to see if they'd seat us at 7:15 and they were able to reserve a table for us. I got the daily special which was like a chicken Parmesan but with steak. It wasn't my favorite thing because I was not expecting the steak to be thinly cut and more on the dry side. That could be my bad - I heard steak and was imagining something totally different. But it wasn't still pretty good! The noodle texture was to die for. It was $30. Drinks were delicious too and ranged from $12-$15. The only thing that I didn't love, is that they charge for every little thing. we got the focaccia and asked for olive oil and balsamic. Why was that an extra $2... $1 for olive oil and $1 for balsamic. If we hadn't ordered it, it would have been an $8 large sized muffin of focaccia - which turned into $10. Definitely not worth it. I asked for some extra Parmesan and they charged $2 for pecorino... honestly it just threw off the experience a little. And it came in the tiniest little cup. I understand maybe 50 cents but $2? Especially when we're having five drinks and three entrees between three people, realizing we were paying extra for those items on the check just was not enjoyable. I'd recommend this place to others as a great place for pasta and drinks, but pasta and drinks only. Maybe avoid asking for any thing on the side and I'd skip apps.
