The food is great, but I don't go here anymore because of how slow and weird the service is. Every time I go, I sit in the drive-thru line waiting for at least 10 minutes, even when there's only one or two cars ahead of me. In addition, I watch employees go in and out of the door, out to cars that are waiting in the car hop positions, except the employees actually get into the cars with the customers, so I assume they're hanging out with their friends. Yum! First time eating at a sonic. Being from NYC we are teased with commercials only. The service was quick and adequate. I did wish the menu was a little easier to navigate maybe more clear to understand with descriptions, I felt a little lost and had to google sonics website menu to get a better idea. The food was piping hot when it arrived to our car window. Delicious and sinful! Hot dog bun was a little soggy, and the kids chicken tender meal only came with two very small tenders. Placed order through app. Checked in and identified my parking spot through the app at 7:07 p.m. I was the only vehicle parked in the lot. My single cheeseburger and cherry slush arrived at 7:31 p.m. The burger patty was lukewarm (cold). Slush seemed partially melted, but did have some ice in it. Took 24 minutes to get my food, and about 2 minutes to eat. I observed three vehicles go through the drive through, in my rearview mirror, while I waited. It was not busy. If i can give negative stars i would. Went here 2 times at the park and order, whatever you call it. The 1st time was when they 1st opened and the 2nd time was on a monday evening around 6pm. I figured they've been around for a while i will give them a try again. Nope never again. We parked, pressed the button and waited and waited and waited...5 mins later nothing. Drive through is painfully slow, girl at window mixed up wrong ice cream order, card machine wasn't working correctly, asked us what we ordered at least two to three times. Normally this location is Good however; recently I visited this location twice and both times they have messed up my order. I love the frozen lemonade with a flavor add on and the fresh lemons well both days they have failed to add the fresh lemons and my flavor add on was more like for a small than a route 44 so as of March 29, when visiting this location I guess you must now state you want lemons also double check your burger as I ordered a burger no mustard to get home to find mustard. read more

Sonic Drive Thru -1960 Suburban Ave St Paul location started off by charging me for the person behind me's order, and then my own, before even letting me know they had charged my card... THEN, they forget a FOOTLONG hotdog I ordered, and give me a $5.29 Bacon burger rather than the $2.99 bacon egg sandwich I ordered... after correcting the food mistake, I asked for my refund of the difference between the $5.29 and the $2.99, and the short haired, short worker in the drive thru says " just give the bitch $3 so she can get out of my face" . I have never been so insulted as a paying (double-paying & over-paying) customer in all my life. I will tell everyone I can about this experience. Hi l had never been to Sonic. I was looking up fast foods on the internet. Sonic had a special that was suppose to go on till June 15th 2018 is was there website said. So l decided it was no time like the present to check Sonic out. Very unhappy first off l get there and they tell me they hadnt had that special deal for awhile. So l was upset right away because l even used that store location fir menu and it said till June 15th. So whatever we order it anyways. The bill came to 13.98. I put two fives next to the boyfriend. And counted 3.98 out in various change. We get to window to pay and couldnt locate one of the fives. ( my dog is known for grabbing bills) couldn't find it. So We gaveca 20 remember already counted out 3.98 in change to her and a five she gave the five back and took the twenty. Not adding the change to the 20 or giving ut back. So what should my change have been $10.00 dollars correct. Well she gsve back $6.02. So that tells me she tipped herself. This is a fastfood. We used the drivethru. When we asked her about it she said she gave proper change. So me and my boyfriend argued about this going around the block 4 times. Mean our shakes are melting cause she messed up on our change. Decided to forget it but got back to eat and guess what an order if taror tots missing. Wow really. So l proceded to call voicemail answered as Sonic ( voicemail) really wtf. Worst experience ever. Fast food is their job covid or not. I work from home and was on the clock. Long slow drive through but to be expected during this time. Took forever to process payment. Checked order it was wrong. Drove around the block pulled into slot 20. Called reported error. Vague huh what. 2 times repeat order. (Fix ONE hamburger) 20 minutes later out they meander, not with the fixed burger but to get the one we brought back and ask "what did you need again."25 minutes later, with no one being in the drive through for 10 minutes I got out of the car to talk to the girl that was visiting the other employee taking their break in the car next to me. l informed her, oddly enough I was not rude, that I had been waiting now 45 minutes to have a hamburger fixed. She went in returned immediately with a stone cold burger that had clearly been sitting. With a side of attitude. 2 hours round trip. Never again. We are customers people. To start off I'm from Texas and SONIC was flipping amazing. The food was always hot and the service was great! I guess it's only in Texas? Don't get me wrong I love Minnesota but not the Sonic. On March 24th 2018 around 8:00pm I decide to go to sonic... I've only been to this location 3 times including this one. Two out of the three times my order was cold. But I guess you get what you pay for? I'm giving this sonic location two stars because one guy at the window helped COMPLETE MY ORDER. I went through the drive thru because they are always "short on staffed" and have all the stalls closed so I was told when I asked... I'm ordering and this chick taking my order is being super rude and rushing me? She can't hear a word I'm saying so I'm raising my voice. I'm not done with my order and then she tells me my total. LIKE LADY IM NOT DONE! I stated I'm not done with my order and She then tells me go to the window.... I go to the window and the guy at the window helped me out with COMPLETING MY ORDER THANKS MAN I APPRECIATE IT. You have people skills unlike the girl that was taking my order. I always have had bad experiences getting food here I think I will start going to the sonic in Bloomington maybe sonic will be good there? I guess I never leaned my lesson until today. Order a medium Optimus Prime slushee, get it and doesn't have the special cup, then order a Route 44 Megatron Slushee to which they say we can't give out that size, I say"I don't care about the cup only the flavor" the girl on the mic says "yea but I have no way to ring that up" I then help her with basic problem solving of "what 2 flavors make up the megatron slushie?" She answers the 2 flavors "so ring me up for a 2 flavor slushee route 44 size of those two same flavors" to which they mess it up and give me a single flavor slushee. On Weds August 16, 2017 Myself and 3 other family members were very excited to stop at a Sonic (1st time at this location) 1960 Suburban Avenue, Saint Paul · (651) 379-9898 its pouring down rain as we pulled up to order by drive thru: I'm continuously speaking saying "hello" "hello" we sat there for at least 8 minutes and no response, we see other cars parked to order so I decided to simply pull up to the window to see if this location possibly was closed early, my husband wanted to leave at this time due to the wait but our daughters really were craving Sonic so the young man opens the window calmly and I said are you open and he said yes and I explained how long we sat waiting to order and he responded by saying they were short staffed only 3 people working and he took his headset off and that is why no employee could hear the cars pulling into the drive thru then he apologized, I responded by putting in our order and asking about the drink specials he tells us the slushy and shake drinks are half off so I asked him if he could upgrade the soda drinks to slushy since they are half off and I also wanted to make sure they were complimentary upgrade not only for that reason but also for the long wait he said there would not be a charge to have slushy drinks instead of soda and he also asked his manager and it was again confirmed that there would not be an extra charge I pay for my food the bill seemed high $29 and some change for 2 meals, small onion ring and a medium shake that should have also been 50% off so I seen on the receipt the meals were correctly rang up and then it showed 2 charges totaling over $3.00 in extra upgrade charges on the slushy(s) and a $6.00 charge on this shake I tell the young man and he understands the mistake and says he cant do anything until his missing in action manager appeared again after about 9 minutes remind you we still have not received any drinks or food so the angry faced manager comes to the window and says rudely so you want each order bagged separately? I said yes, he starts to hand me a bag and I said are you going to correct the over charges on our food and he pulls my food back from me and says no and tells me I been asking for free stuff since I pulled into his establishment and he was so rude I asked him for our food because honestly more than 20 minutes have now passed and he refused to give me my food order saying I did not pay.. The food is OK...They dont tell you it's happy hour on drinks, even if u order 2 drinks, which is hurtimg your newer clients, if u dont want people to know u have this special, dont have it.
