I was profusely disappointed with this sonic location. The food was awful it tasted sour the fries were cold and soggy like my grandmothers breast. The lady at the counter was only on her phone and it was a 45 minute wait for FAST FOOD that's not very fast!!!!! I ended up vomiting uncontrollably the hour after I was finished. We were SOOOO excited to find out we lived close to a Sonic. We moved to Boston from Austin, Texas - where Sonics were everywhere, so this find was amazing. The ordering process was seamless, as usual. When we received our food (which was unusually fast) it tasted like it had been sitting out for a awhile - cold and stale. We decided to give it another shot about a week later and unfortunately, ran into the same issue. We are SUPER disappointed. Sonics in New England clearly are NOT the same as down south. Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced. We sat at in the stall for over a half our waiting for our order, when I hit the button to inquire about our order I was told it would be up in a few more minutes. 10 more minutes passed and our order was still not placed and a gentleman came out and asked what we ordered repeated the order and he said he would look into it, after waiting an additional 10 minutes we left. My card was charged but by after waiting close to an hour for a $25 meal I decided it wasn't worth even asking for a refund. Went here for a late night snack, and nothing was right, fries were cold with cheese chicken sandwich was unattached to the breading, honey barbecue chicken nuggets were barely glazed with any sauce just horrible. Don't expect the same service as the Sonics in the south where carhops are well trained in service delivery. This place should not have the stalls- we get the impression the employees get annoyed that we use the drive up stalls. HELLO- that's Sonic's whole gimmick. People didn't tip the carhops in the south which is another surprise but no big deal if the service is existent. We just left there (noon) after waiting 20 minutes for our food to be delivered (or not as I had to eventually walk in the place and cancel the order- it was that long of a wait). We have given this place a number of tries since we used to go to them all the time with a car load of kids living in the south. The children miss Sonic and their fun variety of beverages so we keep hoping it'll get better but it's truly either really good or really bad, depending on which employees are working. If you want to know what a real Sonic experience is like- this is NOT the place for you. I have to say that when the drive thru is busy - they work well and efficient but you guys have to remember that this place is supposed to be known for the carhop experience!!! read more

Sonic. Hasn't been one in the area for basically ever. IT IS PACKED! And I was expecting it, just like the employees did. My family and I went inside and parked at Price Right jus before 5pm. The key to coming here and being quick is coming before 5pm and go inside. The drive thru is probably the longest wait. But anyways, We waited about 10min for our food (which was great) and the food was great! We got jolly rancher slushes and they were the best drink I have had ever! People also need to understand that they have been mobbed with people and then are till learning. They have so many things on the menu so it is going to take some time to get your food perfect. read more

I'd do no stars if I was able to. We're usually fans of this sonic, and when slight mess ups have happened in the past- we've overlooked them. And I'm not one to write reviews, this is my first actually but tonight it's called for. I manage a food/drink establishment. I deal with customer service all day, it's my job. I was appalled at the way we were treated by the workers at this sonic tonight on 11/8. We always order through the app before we get there and always tip the worker who brings the food out to our car. We realized a burger was completely wrong from what we ordered. We hit the button to speak to someone, after explaining- the worker tried to saying that we ordered it wrong and he heard us say what we received- first mistake. We ordered through the app so he didn't hear anything and we had the correct order on our phone. After repeating the correct order at least five times to him, he said it would be right out. Over ten minutes went by (no drive thru line and only three other cars at stalls) and still no replacement burger. We hit the button again and after a few minutes someone said "it will be out in a minute" without us even saying anything, or being asked anything. Someone then brought it out and practically tossed it in the car and when we asked if he wanted the wrong sandwich back (so they could see it was wrong) he said "I ain't takin that back" and it wasn't the words as much but the way he said it. I almost got right out of the car for the sheer disrespect. Again, I work all day in customer service. Whether we like it or not, the customer is right especially when an order isn't made correctly. Someone here should really hold a staff meeting because behavior like that costs you business. read more

Opens at 10am ? Why? Peabody is 24hrs and Somerset opens at 8am. You serve breakfast on a busy road, if you were open at 8am you would get so much more business. I'm giving sonic a 5 star review not for the mediocre food or actually pretty good milk shakes but for the laughter I received from their complete lack of competence. First off the experience started slow as I had to instruct the likely new person handling the register through the speaker at the car hop. Each item took about 2 minutes for them to find in their computer. Then I had the audacity to order a chicken strip sandwich plain from the value menu. They kept typing in the more expensive one and I had to instruct them where on the menu it was as it was a big mystery to them. I think it was more likely they would find that missing Malaysian airplane before locating how to order this sandwich and get it plain. I had to ask for it plain 7 times as well (no lie) Well, I then ordered an ice tea as well ( or so I thought) When the food quickly arrived. The receipt was correct with the sandwich saying plain. However after opening it I quickly saw it had mayo and lettuce on it. Also the "ice tea" was incredibly warm as they didn't put any ice in it. I pushed the speaker button and explained the situation. They apologized and brought out another "plain" one. The car hop kid said it was plain. I opened it and it had mayo on it, but no lettuce. Knowing there was no way they would get it correct a third time I just let it ago and had a big laugh. Overall, I'm never surprised when I get service like this at a fast food place as it's likely to be expected. But this was beyond laughable. Came to this sonic three times and today will be my last. I ordered a number one and was told I could switch instead of French fries I could have mozzarella sticks. Which she charged me 1.70 more for but didn't inform me at register that it would be more money. When I got the bag of food the marinara sauce was wide open and all over my food. I had a few bites and my food was stale and hard. It had a funny taste to it as well. I was so disgusted I just threw my food away. About a hour later my mother and I were sick to our stomach. I wouldn't suggested this place to anyone. They need to call somerset sonic and learn how to run it like they do. read more

sonic is a sad excuse of a place. two times they got my order wrong. very unhelpful with playing my order when asking for pricing and bundling assistance. Girl comes out and even gave me wrong change so I mentioned it and she walked away. wanted to tell her don't quit school but didn't have the heart. My 10 year old was able to even tell me the property account I should have received back. No apology. quality of meat was awful. I had fat and grizzle in the chicken patty and the burger was gross. very expensive and small portion as well. I would gladly go to five guys over this any day. Me and my boyfriend came here for slushees we pulled up the the parking spots and we ordered our three slushees while the person next to us just ordered there's as well. 40 minutes later the person next to had placed another order along with there first one and received both before anyone had even come out with any of our DRINKS not like we ordered the whole menu like the people next to us. I am appalled by the way I was treated at Sonic tonight. I was sitting in my car at the drive through, waiting patiently for my food. Then, "Alyssa" the rudest employee I've ever met slammed open the window. She rushed me, and didn't even say one thing other than my total. I've been in the past, and the boy at the window (I don't recall who he was) was kind and courteous throughout his interaction and even ended with "have a super sonic day". He made me feel as if I was a valued costumer, not just a person in the way of a pay check. I think Sonic should consider having the teens in the drive thru window teach the adults how to be personable, then the reviews on this site may go up! As for you Alyssa, maybe the restaurant industry isn't for you, if you can't even treat a costumer with respect! And I'm sure I'm not the only one who would agree on this matter! read more

I had been to the location in Saugus before and everything was great but this location I will never return to. First of all I parked and had to press the button 3 or 4 times before anyone even answered. She was too busy talking to the boys in the car next to us. I ordered a "grilled" cheese which was not grilled but tasted microwaved because it was chewy. The fried pickles tasted like cardboard. The tater tots were the only good thing. Okay, so Sonic is not greatest on the list of fast food places to begin with so if anything else goes wrong it goes from a 3 to a 1 (in fact) a zero very quickly. Meals ordered: Texas toast bacon burger with tots and the Bacon double burger combo with fries and a popcorn chicken. For starters, the fries which I specifically requested when ordering "please make sure they are hot" were cold. I asked while still at the window for new ones. My strawberry lime rickey had no lime. I also askes for that yo be changed while still at the window. (Yes I held up the line). They made me wait while they cut fresh limes. Do other patrons just suck up lime rickeys with no lime? Where they do that at? SONIC. The closing scene from this horrible show. We leave and park in a nearby lot to eat. The tater tots were in fact another cold order of fries. The burger was luke warm with soggy bread and lettuce from being premade and just SITTING. The popcorn chicken was cold and hard. I was so ANGRY. I called Sonic customer service who took a report and offered NO resolution. Save your money, time, and taste buds. read more

I am really surprised at the negative feedback about this location! I feel like the employees are very personable and friendly. I think Alyssa is very professional and always answers any concerns or questions I might have. I feel like people expect perfection but this sonic has very decent people. Alyssa always greets with a smile and I can tell she busts her butt. There hasn't been a time that I have gone to sonic and not been acknowledged at the window by alyssa. I go here. Over other fast-food joints in the area asically because of her professionalism and friendliness. I will be going back because I know she cares about the customers and thier needs. I hope upper mAnagement sees this and understands they have faithful customer because of Alyssa. And I will be sure to have others come here!!! So gross! The food was cheap, 23.00 for 4 people! Everything fried tasted like burnt toast! So clearly they aren't changing oil or burned something in there! So it 'looks' like food, but almost everything from here tastes like plastic filler. They have a drive thru, a small restaurant inside, and pull ups with a speaker and menu where they bring it out to you. They have big stickers on every pull up that say "Car Hops appreciate tips" so nobody pulls up to the pull ups. How about instead of expecting customers to subsidize your payroll because you pay less than minimum wage, you start paying them what they are worth? I'm not tipping at a fast food restaurant for someone to walk three steps outside the door to hand me food. Parking for inside the restaurant is extremely limited. The hamburgers and breakfast burritos are ok, the rest tastes like plastic. The parking lot has weird narrow entrances and exits and is hard to navigate. They mistook our order and gave us the complete opposite food we wanted. They called my mother Mexican for her accent and treated us differently than anyone else were.
