Turn around time is super fast because they serve you (once you order) really fast. I ordered a large amount of food and within 10 minutes all of our food came out. I personally don't like the fries at sonic so I always substitute for the tater tots, which are BOMB. The best part is watching your food get delivered to your car by a guy with roller skates. I don't know why I find it so entertaining but I love the retro vibes. I always end up getting the all american hot dog and onion rings. The onion rings are really good and probably my favorite out of other fast food places. There were cars that had pulled in after us, getting their food served when me and my friends SPECIFICALLY did mobile order to avoid this situation from happening. We had our food given to us, and then the KITCHEN--not the guy-- forgot my corndogs. When they got them for me-- it was only 3-- I bit into the first one and it felt weird. Not tasted-- felt. The dough was way under cooked, it was just a fried shell. Went home and had to air fry all the food to re heat it because all the food was semi warm/cold when we got our order served twice to us. I even asked the guy if I could come to the door with him to just grab it and go and he said no "you can't take your food from the door, I have to give it to you" like what is actually going to happen by me waiting 5 feet from the door for someone to grab the PRE MADE mobile order so I can just go. If anything it would have made their job easier by eliminating another customer. $50 for cold, and under cooked food? We didn't even ask for a refund because what's the sense of waiting longer? Please, I go to sonic often (not this one) and I know how good their food is to us but do not go to this location. It's a little extra driving but it's worth the no hassle, no waiting, no complaining. This Sonic location is the tip of the ice berg on why workers in the food industry need to be paid more. Ordering was simple. The screen however did have delays. The wait time between ordering and getting our food was about 15 minutes. Understandable though because while waiting more customers arrived. Sonic has your back with their gooey toasted mozerella cheese sticks. I seriously love their mozerella sticks and they are the BEST, let me repeat. These are the BEST mozerella sticks you can ask for. Had them for like a couple of times and I fell in love with their cheese pull and consistency. This was my first visit to a Sonic. I'm going to be as blunt as the thoughts that went through me head while I ate my food. I definitely like the modern, pull-up-and-eat-in-your-car feature. It was really cool, and it didn't take long at all to receive my food. Though the space is quite cramped for dine-in-car, and drive through. & I'm going to say it's because the location is pretty new, it was really crowded. The downside? The most boring burger I have ever eaten. I'm guessing it's a chain fast food thing ( they get, serve, and prepare the same foods), but I just would not do it to myself again. There's no flavor, & nothing unique (except blandness). If I went again, I'd have to try the corn dogs or shake. The second sonic restaurant in my area, this Valley Stream location, recently opened so I had to come check it out. As with the Deer Park opening, it's pretty crowded, long lines at the drive-in and long waits for food. However, it's a pretty cool experience, their menu is filled with bargains and the food tastes pretty good too. Being that it was mid afternoon and I wasn't starving, I took advantage of a very cool corndog special. They're already $.99 at this time but they also knock them to half price for the opening. Between 2 and 4 PM drinks of course are also half price. So I got a nice bag of food for just over four dollars. Sweet! read more

Today at approximately 11:00 AM, my husband and I used the park and eat area to place an order. My husband used my card to make the payment. After a few minutes, the server delivered the food to the car, and we were informed that Stall #9 card swipe was not working. The server stated "Sometimes the swiper does not work". As a result, I gave him a $50.00 bill to pay for the $26.00 order. The server left, and returned to the car and gave me a total of $3.00 dollars change. I said to my husband that this amount is not correct, so I went to the employee section of Sonic and informed that the change was wrong. I was disappointed because of poor customer service as it pertains to being given the incorrect change and the server's inability to say thank you for the tip he received prior to the drama. Going to Sonic is always fun for me because living in Bronx we don't have Sonic and the closest one is this one in Queens. I was forced to order the new 4th of July slushee by lovely,dear friend and as the server came rolling up to the car I knew I was going to be disappointed. It looked nothing like the commercial which I understand is never an accurate depiction of reality but at least be similar and achieve the tri layered design I'm paying for. First time at a sonic and my experience was great. Instead of feeling rushed at regular drive thrus, this "park your car and decide" deal was so much better. It was also nice to just sit in the car in our spot while we devoured our grub! We took the time to determine what our party wanted and all that was required was the push of a button when we were ready to order. Within seconds someone answered, we paid right at our station, and was notified when our carhop was on the way. We briefly met with our carhop who was super friendly. I don't know if tipping is customary here, but I gave cash anyway. Our order was large but everything was right. The boneless wings with asian chili sauce were amazing and my double cheeseburger was the most perfect fast food burger I could've asked for. Someone had the chicken sandwich but it was smaller and not as tasty according to them in comparison to the popular joints. Personally, I would not try the chicken sandwich based on its presentation.
