Grabbed lunch at Sonny's after long travel day. Looks like a chain bbq restaurant. Clean facility, good service, average bbq. Got the three meat platter that included baby back ribs, brisket, and jalapeño cheddar sausage. Brisket was a bit dry and didn't have any smoke flavor. Disappointing. Ribs were fall of the bone tender, pretty good. Jalapeño cheddar sausage was good. Sides were average. Nothing against Sonny's, but I have become a bbq snob. It was OK. Would eat here again in a pinch.

I got take out and it was super easy to order and pick up the food. The food was ready right away. I got a sampler plate, smoked wings, a side salad, Arnold Palmer, and cinnamon donut holes. The hot foods were hot/warm and delicious. The stuff I got included smoked dark meat chicken (leg and thigh), brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs, cornbread, mac n cheese, and baked sweet potato. My favorite things were the smoked wings with original bbq sauce, baked sweet potato, cornbread (it has kernels in it), Arnold Palmer, and the sweet tea sauce that goes over the cinnamon donut holes. I liked the bbq items and the smoked chicken is really where they shine!

This joint exemplifies great service and southern hospitality. We ordered the beef brisket which melted in my mouth, the ribs literally feel off the bone. The Mac & Cheese was on point and the beans were both outstanding! We ordered desert and the donut holes did not disappoint. Our waitress was so lovely, attentive, and just simply everything you could ask for ! If you are in the area.. do yourself a favor and stop by this delicious place .

Second time here and it's ...ok. Apparently any fixings for a plate are just too much to ask. I didn't check before I left, but still, 3 boys up front bumbling around should have checked. Or, maybe they just don't do that here. I dunno. I asked about scraps or "pup cup" and that was a "no" as well. I ordered the rib plate with slaw and beans. It was good. I also ordered a sliced pork plate, that's what I wanted the "fixings" for, also ordered an Arnold Palmer, because that is the best drink EVER. I spent $38+ online. A tip was requested, for declined. Pup cup you get a tip, no pup cup you get $hit, is my motto from now on. Plus, it was take out. You need 15% to hand me a bag? PS, garlic bread is ice cold.

do like Sonny's... Everytime I have stopped in the Sonny's in Corbin Kentucky I have had a great experience. They have an incredible staff - seriously, at a time when restaurants are struggling to find good folks, they are all working at Sonny's - the food is really good, I had the Sonny's sampler which was plenty of food and a good variety. Is it the best BBQ I have had? No, but it is really good... the drinks are huge and The prices are good. Worth a visit

First let me say I love Sonny's. Sunday dinner. Half chicken. A little tough, but not horrible. Green beans were good. Side salad was good. Iced t was good. Service was quick and prompt.

    Sonny's BBQ pork plate special

Food quality up to the Sonny's standard we have experienced our entire lives. More than 40 years eating at sonny's including the original Waldo road location in Gainesville, Florida. We had both sliced pork and pulled pork. Sliced pork was moist with perfect smoke ring. Ribs also were fall off the bone but not fragile. One order dry rubbed the other wet. Both were flavorful and had good crust. Baked beans continue to be distinctively wonderful. Garlic toast was fresh; crisp outside and soft inside. Cole slaw nice shred and flavor; theirs is a sweet version which comes to the table first while you wait for the rest of the food. Sweet tea always fresh and it did not disappoint. Overall wonderful location which was redecorated with the more recent branding. Server was attentive and efficiently pleasant.

Recommend everything we ordered! (Pudding didn't make it into the bag so didn't try it yet- next time!)

Great food with easy order& curbside pickup! We are en route to Detroit in 75 so love this convenient location- no need to settle for fast food! Love the pulled pork and chicken.. sweet potato cooked perfectly and the baked bean recipe is special too! Banana pudding didn't make it into the bag but we were back on 75 before I realized it- my fault For not checking first- next time! They had quite a line so order ahead online, it's so easy and you won't have to wait. Just call from the parking lot when you arrive. I thought prices were very fair. (See pic of receipt) that fed three ppl and they give you plenty of sauces and toppings too

    Best iced tea on I-75!

One of our favorites when making the trip to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park or The Florida Beaches! This trip the dinning room was closed due to the pandemic. The gal at the drive up was a sweetie. We picked up our favorite sliced brisket and sliced pork along with beans and garlic bread. Also they supplied paper plates, napkins, finger wipes, utensils and of course Sonny's original sauce! We bought enough for our lunch & sandwiches over the next couple days. Great services! Great food! And the is nice park to picnic in just 7 miles west!

Right next door to loves in front of the quality inn. Been through some changes remodels

#99-2021 Reposting this will put pictures up too since Yelp review remove the original review and pictures too cuz I put it at the wrong location cuz I'm an idiot Mid October I'm rolling down i-75 just a truckin along and I had a taste for some cue. I knew there was a Sonny's right down next to loves at Corbin I hadn't been there in quite a few years but I thought you know what let's give it a shot so I rolled into loves parked and meandered on over. This was early afternoon I walked in it was a little crowded but not too shabby they sat me down first thing I noticed it was quite clean. Well I didn't want to drink though I did notice they had no liquor and they said no we don't have a booze license hopefully we're going to get one eventually or the only few of the Sonny's that don't serve. So I peruses the menu and I opted for three meat combination cuz I'm a pig. I opted for the sweet and smoky baby back ribs barbecue chicken and the chopped brisket. The other side I went with were French fries and their baked beans and Coke zero. She put my order in I waited I noticed here like a classic barbecue joint in the South they don't know what napkins are they just put a great big roll of paper towels on the tables and use what you need and the refill is need be. The brisket was really good the chicken was very good and the ribs were tasty although next time though I probably would do 2meat I didn't need the three meat because with the garlic bread and I had an extra piece of that not realizing was a good chunk of it but all in all for the value it was really good and I left quite satisfied. But they almost needed a two-wheel car to wheel me out to my truck lol! And if I have a taste for some good old barbecue down in Southern Kentucky and I'm on interstate 75 between Lexington and Knoxville this is a Sonny's I still wouldn't hesitate to hit up. But if I was going to be there for the night I might get it to go and get a cold brew and eat everything and drink out of the truck but it is what it is for lunch though it was a very good mid-afternoon meal I was very full when I left. all in all even without the liquor keep up the good work at the sun is you guys definitely have one of the better franchises as far as putting out quality.

In Corbin for work. Sonny's was right next door AND got previous good reviews, so, gave them a try. Not horribly busy and was seated immediately. The waitress was quick to the table and I was already to order. Pulled chicken sandwich on garlic toast. Sides of green beans and crinkle cut fries. Well, can't say a lot about the sides. The fries were your normal, everyday fries and the green beans were typical green beans. BUT!! The pulled chicken was some of the best I've eaten. And I've had the opportunity to sample BBQ in quite a few places. This was really good!! I ate half the sandwich without adding any of their BBQ sauces. On the second half, I sampled the Hot sauce, the "original" and the Sweet. The Hot was just that, hot and a bit smoky tasting. Good, but I think it would've overpowered the great taste of the pulled chicken on it's own. The sweet was good, interesting? maybe. Nice sweetness to it, but a slight tinge of vinegar. The original, in my eyes, was the best. Nice smoky flavor, a touch of sweetness and just the right amount of vinegar flavoring that enhanced the chicken. Next time I'm in Corbin, pretty sure I'll stop back in and try the pork! Good Stuff!!

As a "farm-to-table" type of place, many of the items included the name of the farm where the ingredients came from. As it was fairly busy I sat at the bar so as not to tie up a 4-seat table. Soon after sitting a pleasant smoky aroma filled the room and I saw the bartender fiddling with a kitchen torch. Making a Smoked Old Fashioned. So that's what I got. What bourbon, he asked. I wasn't sure so he walked me over to the side of the bar and there were so many! I decided on one arbitrarily, a local craft brand, and he approved. Only a $3 upcharge from the standard one. It was very good, though not as smoky as I expected. The cherry was premium, not the standard bar maraschino. I do like an Old Fashioned, but I sort of wished I noticed the list of specialty cocktails first, which were really unusual and intriguing. Such as the "Garden Gnome": Vodka, yuzu, olive juice, basil, St. Germaine, and gin. For beer lovers, a very large diverse selection, from Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, and Mexico. Most of the entrees are a la carte. Order sides separately if you want them. I decided on tacos, with sides of fries and roasted brussels sprouts. This works here even for a single diner because the sides are small and inexpensive ($4 and $5), though a larger size is also offered. The entrees also were reasonable, most $15. Even the Wagyu Steak was just $29, complete with sides. I've seen prices from $40 to $60 elsewhere. The tacos were Birria, which is a Mexican style of slow cooking meat - short rib in this case - seasoned with adobo. They included mozzarella cheese, cilantro, and pickled onions and cabbage. The flour tortillas were deep-fried and more substantial than usual. Two sauces were offered in tiny bowls. One was thin and was probably the braising liquid from the meat and the other white and speckled with green herbs, sort of like a raita. Very good. The fries, crispy, hand cut, crispy, and seasoned, were also very good. And the roasted brussels sprouts were amazing. The best ever - though I seem to say that often. Sauced relatively heavily in sweet maple glaze, tender, and not at all bitter. I was surprised that there were no seafood items on the menu other than the Smoked Salmon BLT taco. And vegetarians might have a problem here. Not much to choose from other than the Big Ass Pretzel or a green salad. For dessert I had Bourbon Butter Cake, with peaches, Amaro (a peach liqueur), bourbon, and ice cream. Good but it could have used more bourbon and liqueur. And it was warmed and served in a small cast-iron skillet so the ice cream was too melted for my liking. That's my fault. I usually ask for these types of dessert not to be warmed. The great meal was matched by the decor and ambience. Pretty brick walls, decorative chandeliers, and a huge welcoming rainbow flag. Maybe that keeps the MAGAs away. That's fine. They can eat at Chick-fil-A. (Joking. Everybody is welcome here.)

Located in a beautifully restored 1913 Greyhound bus station, it brings a masterclass in farm-to-table dining with original brick-and-mortar charm. It's authentic, eclectic, and classy without an ounce of pretension--you'll feel just as comfortable rolling in fresh off a lake day as you would celebrating a special occasion. What we ordered (and you need to try): Wagyu Sirloin ($29): We need to talk about this. Served with asparagus and a twice-baked potato for $29, this is easily the single best value dish within a 100-mile radius. Unbelievable quality. Salmon BLT Tacos: Pure perfection, especially after a day on the water. Burrata Cheese & Peach Salad: Absolute fire. Fresh and perfectly balanced. Birria Tacos: Exceptionally rich flavor and executed flawlessly. Blueberry Tiramisu & Limoncello: A shocker of a dessert pairing to end the night--completely knocked it out of the park. The Bar: Drinks are poured with a heavy hand and crafted strong. The open-kitchen concept lets you see the passion this team puts into their craft. The pulled pork in my Sweet Carolina BBQ sandwich had the look and taste of long, slow cooking. Lots of color on the "bark", with a balanced mix of coarse chopped pieces and thinner shreds. I thought it slightly dry and maybe not as much smoke flavor as I'd like, but that could be the pitmaster's preference. Any dryness was fixed by adding some of the 4 available house-made sauces. I tried all and decided on the spicy barbecue. My meal arrived quickly, no more than 5 minutes at most. The sandwich comes with 1 side. I chose the potato salad, which was very good: mustardy and tangy with the potatoes "al dente." Two sizes were available, regular and large. I thought the regular was sufficient and a good deal at $11.50 with the side. The coleslaw was very small as usual, but, as it was intended to be put into the sandwich for the Sweet Carolina, was sufficient, and good. The menu also has burgers, ribs, wings, and some interesting sounding combination sandwiches. Like Fried Bologna BLT. And brisket. Wish I could have tried that. My only complaint is the menu is very sandwich-oriented. No way to order a plate: a meat and 2 sides, and maybe a slice of cornbread (actually hoe cakes here instead). Larger combo are available, like the Smoky B Sampler with ribs, 2 additional meats, garlic toast, and a side (just 1). Way too much for one person, and with just 1 side, not ideal for sharing either. Many interesting appetizers and small bites, including corn nuggets, fried pickles and green tomatoes, cheese curds with marinara. The inside was clean, a generic modern building. Outside tables were not set up - was it just too hot to sit outdoors? The floor could use some fixing up: it looked like they had scraped off carpeting and left the glue. Strange. Lots of TVs tuned to various sports, the sound turned off. Music playing at a medium level which I enjoyed. Very hard rock. How hard? 9.5 on the Mohs scale. And then all of a sudden it changed to Taylor Swift. That was jarring but ok. I like her too. Clientele at this midday hour seemed to be mostly working men on lunch break. I think I was the only one without blue jeans and a baseball cap. When I got up to pay at the counter my waitress reminded me that my drink (Coke) comes with a free refill in a go cup. I didn't really want more but she encouraged me so I was going to get ice water. I pressed the wrong button on the machine and got lemonade instead. Oh well, that's fine too.

He stated that he kept reminding the staff to flip the specials out front, assuming this is a reoccurring problem. Three out of six ordered the cowboy ribeye (another advertised special) and it was the same quality you'd get going to Waffle House, unfortunately. The fat wasn't rendered properly leading to rubbery texture and there wasn't a proper sear. 2/10 The other three of us picked the bowl of potato soup (6/10), Philly Cheese Sandwich (9/10), and Shrimp Scampi (7/10). The potato soup was pretty standard and could've used a little more seasoning. When I took my leftovers home, I added onion & garlic powder, kinders the blend, and salt & pepper and it was perfect! Shrimp Scampi tasted good but the noodles were well past Al dente. Not a big deal for the person who ordered it but something to note if you're a texture person. Overall, it was mediocre service (I think our server was new) and hit or miss food. It would be a great place to stop and grab some drinks at the bar, though.

I've done that myself at home but this should not have been plated. I didn't mind no asparagus but was surprised it was an up charge (premium side - should've read the menu more thoroughly). Overall, you can't go wrong with the regular fare like burgers and appetizers. It's a clean restaurant with very friendly staff - they make you feel special, almost like family. Stopped in on our way home to Tennessee from Ohio. If you didn't know it was there you wouldn't…read morenotice it. It's located behind Walgreens. We were seated right away. The restaurant was playing "old style" Christmas music (like from the 40's-60's) over the speakers that was very pleasant. There is a full service bar on one side of the restaurant. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The restaurant was very clean. Our server came right over and took our drink order, then our food order. She also brought us a loaf of brown bread with soft butter. We decided to split the grilled salmon with the house made potato cakes and steamed broccoli. It was all delicious! The potato cakes were killer! The best we've ever had! The server said they make them here. They also have them on the appetizer menu. We HIGHLY recommend them!! The broccoli was cooked just right with what tasted like minced garlic and a little Parmesan maybe. Very flavorful. The salmon was topped with a diced tomato relish that was nice. We really enjoyed the entire meal and experience! Our server, Aerial, was wonderful!! We go back and forth between TN and Ohio quite often. We will definitely be back.
