This is a chain barbecue restaurant, and it shows. But that said, the food comes quickly, the bbq is adequate, and it's easy-off, easy-on to the highway, the bathrooms were clean -- making it a reasonable fast-food stop on a drive across central Florida. We had a brisket sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich. The buns weren't great, but the brisket was reasonably good, and the pulled pork average (not worthy of a recommendation, but certainly edible and adequate). The unsweetened tea was strong. I'd go back again as a an alternative to a McDonalds or other standard fast food. As a barbecue joint, it is merely average. read more

I order the all you can eat pulled chicken, it took over an hour to get my original plate an extra one. I order another one when she brought me the second one and it's 20min later and I'm still waiting for it. First time coming to this particular Sonny's and my last. I've been to many Sonny's and this is the first time it has taking this long to get a third plate. Also order a mix green salad like you would normally get in most places, but not here. It's more of iceberg lettuce than anything else(see picture. UPDATE: Just received the third plate after 20 something minutes. Order through their website to simple meals 20 minutes later we pull up followed the text message told them we were here nothing for another 15 minutes called the number and said your foods ready they bring out food and give it to the car next to us they open up all the containers they come back out grab it from him run back inside in a minute later they come back out with our food they said they changed everything. Food was cold, and they had nothing but excuses to why they took so long. and then tell us that their online ordering system tablets constantly die and they can't keep up with a text message so it's always good to call even though their online website and everything else when you get there.so why even have people text and follow the instructions from their online ordering? read more

Food presentation was beautiful. The staff was either high or pissed and disrespectful. Food was cold as a dead's man body with no flavor at all. We ordered and Sampler meal with coleslaw and a side salad and a BBQ Salad unfortunately the best part was the BBQ sauce and the Caesar dressing And the drinks were waterier. The food, service, and atmosphere is always great. Bri has been one of the best bartenders I've come across. Her ability to multitask meaning, take care of the bar, drive thru, and hostess is amazing. Have yet to see here make a mistake. If she has, she hides it well. Definitely a keeper! Sonny's BBQ was a mainstay during the 80s to the early 2000s with my family. It is just not the same anymore. It seems as if the quality is just like average chain BBQ now. I am not done with Sonny's, just going to give it a rest. This was a stop for us twice a year as we headed north. I hope it returns to it's past glory one of these days. Kind of strange but then again there are not that many people in this area. Clean looking, and we also had our choice of tables to sit at. I thought the service was fine and our waitress called me "sweetie". Southern charm. Immediately I dug into the ALL YOU CAN EAT option - Sliced or pulled pork, sliced or pulled beef brisket, sweet & smokey ribs, classic dry rub ribs, or Bar-B-Q chicken. Yes, UNLIMITED MEAT. Overall, not bad. Good ribs and BBQ chicken. Cornbread and sweet potato too. I filled up my plate over and over. I think it was something like $12.99. I was like a dog that if you keep feeding will eat until it explodes. Again, it's chain BBQ so rate it for what it is. This ain't no Michelin ranked joint! Had several empty tables. Waited 10 minutes for a hostess to take a name. Then waited a while to be told it would be at least 25 minutes before we would be seated. Because a large Uber eats order just came in. So they chose Uber eats over tipping customers. Waiting to eat is to be expected, but looking at empty tables and waiting means someone else gets my money. read more

We were on our way back from a day at beautiful Busch Gardens with our friends Flash & Maggie. We stopped at Sonny's for dinner per their suggestion. This was our first time at a Sonny's. Harriet, our server, gave us good service...she was prompt and friendly. She did misunderstand Tom's request for water and brought him a second beer by mistake. Tom graciously drank it (Hmmm...we're talking Tom and beer here!) Tom had Redneck Egg Rolls and I had Smoked Ribs and Wings with sides...both of our meals as well as our friend's meals were very good. read more

The pork sampler was smack you lips good. The quantity of food was surprisingly greater than expected. I would not of been able to finish my order. i only went here because it was near to the don garlits museum, where i had spent the whole day. but that's another review... we had a nice waitress, who told us she had not worked there very long. we ordered the sweet carolina sandwich with crinkle cut french fries, a beef brisket sandwich with coleslaw, four beers, and as a shout out to healthiness after ordering four beers, a side salad. salad was kind of like the ones you'd get at a high school buffet line. i asked for no bun with the brisket sandwich, but got one anyway. no big deal. the carolina sandwich was passable, not great, but i am sure worse has been consumed. coleslaw was weaker than my 90 year old granny's high kick. our waitress was attentive, but did not remove any empty dishes, even when i pushed them towards the end of the table, as a gentle nudge. it wasn't like she was being rude, maybe someone just didn't tell her during training? the worst part of this adventure was the table seated across from us - screaming infant, jumping toddler, grandma, mother, father. i held a half hearted grudging respect for a family of five that could reach such a noise decibel. dang, that family left the BIGGEST mess on their table and the surrounding area, and i had a sinking feeling they probably didn't leave their poor server a tip. my server was kierra, and she was great. my three stars are only for kierra and the beers. not the food. or the restaurant itself, which could really use a thorough cleaning. read more

They remodeled. Went in last week. The ribs must have been left over from several days ago. They were dry, hard to chew very small portions. Wife had pulled pork. It was dry chewy. The slaw was good. So I love Sonnys especially on 484, they were always clean and super friendly, but the last couple visits have been rough, the hostess needs to pull her back since she's in and out of the kitchen and greeting customers is a must, so instead of sitting at the bar on your phone acknowledge the customers, and when they are busy ask people for their drink order and help clean up 7 dirty tables and still sitting at the bar is ridiculous, I don't see a manager, so no one to complain to, and I'm still sitting here after 20 mins , server took our order but we don't have drinks yet, I count 5 servers and 13 tables of customers, our server has , more customers at the door, had to ask for drinks again, now she brought the wrong drinks , same people still waiting to be seated , I have half my food still not the corrected drink order, I usually have a very pleasant experience, with the cost of dining out I expect more will give it another try hoping this help to straighten up the place! read more

So the first thing when I walked in I went to the two girls by the cashier and said table for 3 and they quickly replied go to the hostess stand. Meanwhile they weren't doing anything just talking. Nobody came over for a few minutes and those 2 girls were standing doing nothing, which I thought was lazy. Then I see a girl running around bussing tables, getting drinks and running food working super hard and rushes over to us greeting us with a smile and takes us to the table. Immediately the whole mood changed as she brightened the room! She took us to the table with a smile on her face and such a warming presence and told us she'd be right with us! She definitely changed our entire experience! We couldn't stop talking at the table about how hardworking she is. Her name is Kimberly! As a server myself, I pick up on everything and always look how other servers take care of tables. She was so attentive, sweet, knowledgeable, and looks like she could have ran the place. If you go to this location ask for Kimberly and take good care of her! She definitely tugged at my heart strings being in the restaurant industry my whole life and seeing the hard work it takes on the inside, all doing it with a smile and sweet heart read more

If I can give this place less than what I would've it Has to be the worst barbecue joint I never visited. I ordered the barbecue sampler had chicken brisket chopped which was not my preference but it was they were out of slices and pulled pork coleslaw and baked beans and coleslaw or taste like you came out of a container premade the beans were terrible I ordered beans and the lady asked me if I want to green beans or beans if I wanted a vegetable I would order a vegetable. The chicken was OK the pool pork was extremely dry the chop brisket was so greasy it oily it look like it just came out of a deep fryer and the ribs were so dry I took one bite and threw the rest away as a barbecue pit master myself I would not of put my name on this food at all it was disgusting read more
