Small lean brisket sandwich with baked beans
    Mickey B.

Visited Sonny's for lunch during work today. Service was a little slow and the restaurant was not busy. I ordered a small sliced brisket sandwiches with baked beans and iced tea ($16.29) on a regular bun although they served it on garlic toast. Last time I visited the garlic toast was extremely salty but today it was just right. The brisket I ordered was lean and it was pretty perfect in every way. The baked beans were good but the sauce was overpowering so I probably won't order those again. Two critiques, I expect a barbeque restaurant to smell like barbeque...this one smelled of a strong cleaning chemical which was off putting. The second critique is that from the time we ordered to when the food was delivered to our table felt like a long time, especially for a restaurant where almost everything is pre-made. In fact, we were late returning to work. We will have to not go for lunch at this restaurant on a work lunch break.

Yes, this was my first time on Sonny's, they don't have really close to my house, so I always ended up going to 4 rivers. I should do an 2 but will give 3 and another chance in another location Ordered the Trio, brisket, pulled pork and ribs, but food arrived really cold and didn't have that smoky flavor. I know it's like a fast food place, but heard good about this place The table on the side called the manager and did complain with a lot of things, maybe I chose the wrong location?

Great food fast service must try the protein packs we had the half chicken and the turkey breast. So much food reasonably priced. We will definitely come back

It has been wonderful to have a Sonny's BBQ closer to my home and right outside of Disney property. Sonny's has consistently tasty meats, delicious sides, and excellent sauces no matter if you are a tomato, vinegar, or mustard base fan. My usual go to is a Whole Hog sandwich, with pulled pork, sliced pork, and sausage, but with a promo today I tried the Pick of the Pit to give the brisket a try. The brisket was moist and juicy and pulled apart easily. The chicken is deliciously spiced with crispy skin and juicy meat. Drinks come in gigantic cups and are bottomless, so if you want a gallon of sweet tea to complete your southern feast, go right ahead. With excellent service and consistency in the plentiful and tasty portions, Sonny's is definitely a comfortable and trustworthy meal.

While Sonny's BBQ was a staple of my childhood, the current incarnation didn't quite live up to the memories. Service was fine although they were a little overwhelmed at times and the prices were affordable for the area with lots of great specials. Unfortunately the food is where things really fell flat. Fatty and greasy meat that left us with indigestion and incredibly bland sides. The sauce is great but doesn't cover up the shortcomings. I'll try it again at some point assuming I just had a bad plate - but I won't rush back.

    "cheese curds"?

They really missed an opportunity when they remodeled this space into a Sonny's. I use the word "remodeled" loosely, because there really is no decor. I've been in warehouses with more ambiance. Perhaps that accounts for it being largely uninhabited on a Friday at lunch hour. That lack of customers didn't translate into attentive service, though. It was largely missing as well. I even went searching for our server at one point, and short of going into the kitchen did my best to locate anyone on duty. The cheese curd appetizer was not recognizable as cheese curds, but it was okay, more like conventional cheese battered and deep-fried. Certainly there was no hint of the dry rub coating, but had it been described differently I would have been perfectly happy with it. The BBQ food is pretty much Sonny's standard, which is to say average barbecue with a good assortment of sauces. I had the three-meat combo and was surprised that I found the chicken tenders the best item, of all things. The St. Louis ribs could definitely not be accused of falling off the bone, and were definitely not worth the upcharge. Sonny's baked beans are good, though, as is the coleslaw slaw.

We are originally from Florida. Sonny's bbq to me is a must and a delicious barbecue staple. We were really looking forward to eating here. It was an absolutely disappointing experience. The food was just not good. They were out of unsweet tea so we went ahead and got the famous sweet tea and that was reliable. It was very good. The ribs were fall off the bone and that is good. But the pork had so much fat. It just seems like the food was fatty. The bbq beans were like tomato based and weren't flavorful. The coleslaw was bland and it lacked flavor. The food was definitely not a good representation of what we are accustomed to enjoying and what we remember from eating at Sonny's. The restaurant was clean. And the service was nice.

New location, just recently opened. Decor is clean and modern. The hostess was very slow to greet us, we asked for a booth and she took the time to go make sure it was clean before taking us over there. Server was great, I wish I got her name - she is also the bar tender. She was super fast and attentive. Food was good. Enjoyed the prime rib. I paid extra for the skillet potatoes - while they were tasty some were a little under cooked.

This has become our favorite Sonny's location! Food is always on point! The family platter is the best deal! Logan is our favorite server! He's has the best personality and makes our experiences great every time! Very attentive! Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Can't get enough!

However, the sandwich didn't quite live up to what I remember. The bread didn't taste as fresh as I expected, and the sandwich was lukewarm instead of warm and toasty like I've experienced at other locations. The Dream Bar was also not quite what I remembered. It didn't have the same richness or taste that made it a favorite for me in the past. After spending a day at a theme park and eating their options, it was nice to "clean" your body out with a good and healthy salad. Located on Sand Lake road near Publix and multiple eateries, this place has a wide selection of salads, sandwiches, and a limited selection of soups. Ambiance: 3.5 Stars The place was clean and has plentiful seating. Ranging from bar style or bench and tables. It is Deli style when ordering. Go to the back and select the type of salads, rice / couscous, soups, or sandwiches. There are pre-fixed options or you can build your own bowl. The eatery was clean, open and airy. Natural lighting was pleasant with the large front windows. It would have been a higher star rating for the ambiance, but the bathrooms needed some work. Though it was clean and roomy, there was no soap and limited toilet paper. Staff: 3.5 Stars Deli The employees were friendly and professional. Our server assisted us with questions and our selections. However, with the middle Eastern dialect and his ability to speak at a rate of the sound barrier, he had to repeat a few times for us to understand. Note: His patience was much appreciated. Food: 3.75 Stars We all chose several different salads. Three were pre-fixed and one was customized. 1. Shanghai Chicken Salad - 3.5 Stars Roasted chicken, edamame, scallions, almonds, cilantro, red cabbage, romaine perfectly paired with miso sesame vinaigrette Contains: Nuts, Soy I chosen the chopped romaine leaves as the base. It was light and flavorful from the dressing. However the chicken was a little bit overcooked and dry. The condiments were plentiful and fresh. Though it was good and had protein, I felt somewhat satisfied. I could eaten another bowl. 2. Chicken Shawarma - 4 Stars Blackened diced chicken thigh, kale, hummus, baba ghanoush, pickles, Israeli salad with Greek yogurt and tahini dressing. The based options are rice melody or couscous. I chose the rice melody. This bowl was more satisfying than the Shanghai Chicken Salad. The chicken tasted juicy, tender and flavorful. Choosing a thigh instead of breast brings the umami flavor of the chicken. The fresh veggies and tahini dressing was a perfect match for this option. 3. Santa Fe Salad - 3.5 Stars avocado, corn, local jack & cheddar, grape tomatoes, onions, tortilla chips, local kale, romaine, perfectly paired with chipotle-lime vinaigrette with a fresh lime squeeze. My sister added chicken thigh and avocado Chimichurri dressing. She said it was tasty. 4. South Beach - 3 Stars craisins, walnuts, green apples, blue cheese, local mesclun, romaine, perfectly paired with balsamic vinaigrette. My wife added chicken and swapped the walnuts for pumpkin seeds. The diced breast chicken was slightly dry and seasoning was lacking. The salad itself was good but wasn't too satisfying. 5. Customized Salad - 3.25 Stars My niece chose to customize her salad bowl. She chose chicken, romaine lettuces, shaved Parmesan cheese, cucumbers, edamame, and other veggie ingredients. She chose the avocado Chimichurri dressing which she liked. NOTE: they offer breakfast items and coffee. Selection of various drinks are from a deli refrigerator and they carry some Kombucha options too. Enjoy!

First, the staff deserves credit--their energy and kindness were 10/10. The person I interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The food itself was good, but I was disappointed that my order was made incorrectly. I specifically asked for only tomatoes and pickles on my burger, but it came with cheese and a sauce. Luckily, I was planning to eat just the patty, so I was able to rinse it off, but if I had intended to eat it as a regular burger, it would have completely ruined the meal as the bun was covered in the sauce. My sub was excellent, and I appreciated the staff's sauce recommendations. However, I was surprised that the homemade sauce came with a $1.10 charge for each side of sauce--that feels pretty excessive. To make matters worse, I didn't even receive one of the sauces I paid for. I understand they are homemade but it is a 1.5 oz container... My biggest disappointment, though, was the chips. It may sound minor, but when a meal is priced and advertised as a complete meal, you'd expect a reasonable portion. The "side" of chips was literally about seven whole chips' worth, mostly crushed into pieces. It was especially disappointing when compared to the portion of fries. Overall, the food has a lot of potential, and the staff was fantastic, but the incorrect order, extra sauce charges, missing sauce, and tiny chip portion really took away from the experience. My advice: upgrade the chips so you actually get a side, double-check your order before you leave (even if there's no one else in there) , and be aware that the sauces cost extra.

Some of the prices do not match their menu, not sure when they raised their prices but I have never ever heard of a patacon costing almost $26 anywhere, and I frequent a lot of Venezuelan spots. Their name went from Q'Kenan restaurant to Q'Kenan Steakhouse so maybe now they just raised all the prices, I don't know. Their most expensive patacon on the menu is the one with Picańha and it says $17...yet I got charged 25.90. Regardless of how good something is, there shouldn't be a $9 difference from what is on the menu. That is absurd. On my last trip- $43 for an empanada, tequeńos and a patacon just doesn't sound right for Venezuelan food, and I come from living in Miami where restaurants are supposed to be more expensive. Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 4/5 Food came out at a decent time Food: 5/5 The soursop juice was delicious- it didn't seem like bottled juice! The Picanha steak was perfectly cooked and the tostones were some of the best I've had in a while! The arepas burriada was not what I expected (I've only had circular handheld arepas) but was absolutely delicious! All the components went well together and the fried thicker cuts/chunks of arepas were delicious! Price: 4.5/5 For Orlando prices, it wasn't bad at all. Usually, work takes us in that Orlando area once a year. We'll definitely be back!
